5-0 out of 5 stars Where is the DVD?
I love the movie and want the DVD.Where is it?

4-0 out of 5 stars The better version of "Forever Young"
I've seen this movie several times & loved it as much the second time as first. It's a fun movie that creates a high level of emotion. When the two main characters come back to their family we get to see love expressed in a powerful way. I like this film much better than "Forever Young" with Mel Gibson because in the end the husband & wife still love each other despite the age differance. When Mel Gibson ages at an advanced rate at the end of "Forever Young" I felt cheated. "Why couldn't they see past the differance in age?" It was like their love only became legitimate once they looked the same age. I wish "Late for Dinner" was available on DVD.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Charming Romantic Comedy
On the run from a crime they didn't commit, the two buddies end up caught in the biggest chill ever: guinea pigs in a dangerous cryonics experiment. Frozen Alive! And they don't thaw out for about 30 years. But they have not aged. Then they go back to their old life, but everything has changed. Can love conquer all? But if love does indeed conquer all, Willie and Joy will have a chance to share their once-in-a-lifetime romance twice.

5-0 out of 5 stars creepy and gooey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is one of the good old sci fi horror movies, ididnt realize that seth green was in it till years after seeing the ending of it on sci fi. i may buy this when i get some money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Magnificent 1950's style sci-fi.
I just watched Ticks again, this time with my daughter, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it.It has a USA rating of "R", and although I think it is slightly inappropriate for kids under 15 or so, I took the risk and let my 13 year old watch it without feeling too uncomfortable. The gratituous addition of sexual suggestion and rough language is a problem with so many modern movies that I am beginning to think that they deliberately try get an "R" rating just to pump the ticket sales.
4-0 out of 5 stars GET TICKED OFF
TICKS is a creepy crawly extravaganza with amazingly good creature effects for an obvious low budget movie. The plot's fairly simple:a marijuana farmer, played with devilish glee by Clint Howard, is using herbal steroids to increase his marijuana output. Some of the steroidal juice however manages to infest a tick larva and soon all the ticks are growing bigger and bigger, nastier and nastier.Enter a group of troubled teens, led by Rosalind Allen and Peter Scolari, who are off for a camping adventure right near the infested area.Soon the ticks are running around chomping on everyone.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Bloody awful
This is just awful. And I mean spine-tingingly bad. The songs are so terrible and so insistent that it makes you feel like kicking the TV in. The idea of the film is certainly interesting....certainly if it weren't played out as a musical. But it is and you can just see some of the actors baffled as to the sheer stupidity of what their doing. Some such as Tim Curry revel in the sheer nonsense this film provides. But seriously, those songs are beyond awful. My hatred for them rivals having to listen to Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights and that's intense. But Kate Bush has made some great songs so that's OK. This however, is the movie equivalent of getting an axe through your spinal cord. How it's achieved cult status is something that will have to go down on the peculiar habits of humans.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great movie
A classic! A Must See! Although not really intended for kids my daughter at 4 used to love the music and dance along...now at 14 she still loves the songs but she thinks the movie is kinda corny. Us adults however, love the movie and of course the soundtrack too. Can't help but catch yourself singing along. ... Read more

I don't know why but I love this movie, I recommend if you haven't seen this movie, have a couple beers and clean your guns while watching.

3-0 out of 5 stars Heston and his gun
I thought this was a good movie when I saw it at the theater when I was a kid. It's not bad considering how long ago it was made but this viewing as an adult I see it's a B movie. Still it's fun watching Charleston Heston shooting and making quips while trying to survive in a nightmarish world. I think this was one of the first movies where you see an interacial couple. American culture was changing slowly and I'm sure this raised a few eyebrows.
3-0 out of 5 stars "The Omega Man" in light of Hurricane Katrina
This movie, although somewhat hokey, is a personal favorite of mine as it stars Charlton Heston and, as an added bonus, features the destruction of the world. How cool is that?!

Since I am a Star Trek fan, I enjoyed this movie.I have almost completed buying my Star Trek set of DVDs.If you like action and adventure dealing with space travel, etc.., then you will like this one.Earth is under attack from a probe that was sent from centuries past and it is searching Earth's oceans for whales that once lived on earth.James T. Kirk and his skeleton crew must go back in time to find two humpback whales and bring them to the future earth to stop the probe from destoying the planet earth. This movie was full of good one liners, humor, and a great plot! I have found no problems with this movie or the case it came in.Even though I favor full screen movies, I am getting use to watching wide screen. If you are a Star Trek fan, then you will like this movie. The picture is clear, the sound is good, and the case is good.No defects of any kind. This is my favorite out of all the Star Trek series. ... this one is a very unusual entry in the LBT. it is a bit scarier and more mysterious than the rest. Petrie is as funny as ever. and Ducky is so cute! one reason why this entry is unusual is because there are two space aliens in it. they are very good characters!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Science Fiction Thriller!
"Predator" is one of my favorite science-fiction thrillers starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. When I first saw this film I thought it was going to be another formulaic sci-fi film. It was not. The idea of a group of hardened American commando's being stalked and hunted down like prey by an alien being from another world was terrific. The scenes where the Predator was hunting them were outstanding. I liked everything about the film, and will not nit-pick any flaws. When the commando's wipe up the guerilla fighter's in the jungle, as if this is just another cake walk for them, you don't expect what is awaiting them.
5-0 out of 5 stars An Arnie classic
This is my favorite Governor Terminator flick. Great story and action. Predator boast some of the best action scenes and special effects of that time. The gore factor is incredibly high and so detailed, even now some of the scenes make me cringe. This is what a lot of so called action movies is lacking today. The raid in the beginning sets the tone for all the bloodshed soon to come. This movie is without a doubt a classic and belongs in anyones collection, if your into action. If you never seen this I dont know where the hell you been all this time. You'll be lucky as hell to find a flick a that can stand up to this, coming out now.

5-0 out of 5 stars Greatest movie ever!
This is my all time favorite movie! Predator has great suspense, action and special effects. It has many genres, but it's main drama is action. Many people think otherwise, but is an action movie. It is an old movie but still has great special effects. The commandos behave so realistically! Everybody's performance is great! Buy! Buy! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Disney Movie With A Message
THE BLACK CAULDRON, in which a young boy named Taran and his comrades go on a quest to defeat the evil Horned King, has a very important message, namely that you need friends in order to be able to deal with a lot of the political buffoonery that has gone on in the past forty years, whether it be Nixon's involvement in Watergate, Reagan's Iran-Contra Scandal, or Clinton's dalliances with a female intern. This theme has, unfortunately, become true again, in the wake of U.S. Rep. Mark Foley's resignation following discoveries that he sent salacious emails to a male page, fueling suspicions that his discussion, in 1998, of a crush on actress Sarah Michelle Gellar was an attempt to hide his homosexuality. In other words, despite the frightening and violent scenes in this movie, it teaches an invaluable lesson that without friends, it's rather hard to deal with it when your Congressperson or President gets caught with his/her hands in the cookie jar and/or lies to his constituents and to the nation as a whole. For that lesson alone, this movie will be a treasure once you get past the violence and gore.

5-0 out of 5 stars I dont know why people diss this movie so much

3-0 out of 5 stars Cult object
Plot in a nutshell: Taran is an assistant pig keeper for the old wizard Dallben in the land of Prydain who dreams of being a great heroic leader of men. Then trouble starts brewing when the Evil Horned King embarks on a dark quest to unleash the power of the Black Cauldron and attempts to kidnap Taran's pig Hen Wen, who happens to be an Oracular Pig. When Taran is given the task of taking the pig to safety, he loses her to the Horned King's forces and must embark on a quest to reclaim her, which introduces him to the hyper-talkative Princess Eilonwy, the slightly untruthful bard Flewder Flam, and the goofy little man-dog creature Gurgi, and then they in turn must embark on a quest to find the Black Cauldron itself and destroy it somehow.

This splendid adventure-fantasy from 1990 was adapted from Roald Dahl's book and directed by maverick British filmmaker Nicolas Roeg, who turned out to be a perfect (if seemingly unlikely) interpreter of Dahl's fiendishly clever tale of witchcraft in contemporary England. Scary, funny, and wildly entertaining, it's all about a young boy named Luke (Jasen Fisher) whose parents have died in a tragic accident, and whose grandmother (Mai Zetterling) takes him to a posh hotel in England, where a secret coven of witches is holding its annual convention. The Grand High Witch (Anjelica Huston, in a scene-stealing performance) has decreed that all children in England be turned into mice, and Luke and his pal Bruno (Charles Potter) are the first victims on the list. That's when the movie magicians from Jim Henson's creature shop have their work cut out for them, turning Luke and Bruno into clever little rodents and Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Timeless, operates at two levels
This movie is so well-known and so much-reviewed (see the other released versions), that I will say little in the standard way of a review: "The Wizard of Oz" is a colorful, musical, enchanting fairy tale that was done as well as any movie ever was.It overflows with color and whimsy, the bad guys are abhorrent (as they should be), and you want the good guys (and girls) to move into your neighborhood.Everyday pieces of reality are enhanced and patched together into a fantasy land that looks part abstract and part American primitive art. This is one of the few movies that can be watched yearly (or more often) without viewers getting tired of it.

This is my favorite movie. Hard to say why....its something to do with the higher element of it. Rod Steiger gives one of his best performances, Claire Bloom and Robert Drivas are also very powerful and the direction of Jack Smight is masterful. 5-0 out of 5 stars Still the Best
My wife and I believe that "A Christmas Carol" is one of the most important stories every written, not only for the holiday season but for all times during the year.We recently watched all nine versions we have accumulated through the past 20+ years. These include the ones with Seymour Hicks in 1935, to Patrick Stewart in 1999.This 1951 production, starring Alistair Sim, is the best. What we like about it most is how Scrooge is depicted after he's visited by the three Christmas spirits. He is totally transformed. He shows unbridled joy in being released from bondage to greed and contempt for his fellow man. This depiction is unmatched by the other versions. The colorized form of the movie is outstanding and adds a good bit to the story-telling.If anyone wants this Dickens classic in its finest incarnation, this is the DVD to get.

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic holiday favorite!
My sisters and I always watched this on Christmas Eve and it definitely reminds us of the true meaning of the holiday season.Alastair Sim is wonderful as Ebenezer Scrooge and the old black and white film adds to the erie feeling as he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas. The holidays aren't the same without this classic!

5-0 out of 5 stars this movie is very funny, you'll blow a fuse watching it
this movie is awesome. I first seen it in 1987 in summer school. that Indian guy makes me want to laugh, not to make fun of him, but because he sounds humorous and cheerful. there is a running gag in this movie and it is when Number (Johnny) 5 throws the seat out of the truck and drives off-twice. it seems funny that nobody believes that he is "alive". there is a suspense-builder in the movie and that is when Number 5 is supposedly blown up, but in reality, it is just a copycat of himself that he built. there is some cussing in it, but not every 5 minutes like some so-called PG-13 movies. an excellent movie for family viewing, provided that they don't blow a fuse from laughing so hard.

3-0 out of 5 stars Five Alive
What would you do if your $11 million killer robot suffered a serious power surge, escaped, and now, rather than blowing up tanks and troops and stuff, was out chasing butterflies and convincing animal loving Ally Sheedy that a) he's not a martian, and b) he's alive? Why, you'd send out the military/goon types to bring him back so you could disassemble him and find out what went wrong.Right?
4-0 out of 5 stars Number 5 is alive!
I remember our class winning a trip to see this movie when I was in elementary school and of course, we all loved it then. And now, many many years later, I still do love Short Circuit. The movie focuses on a company called NOVA that has constructed these new robots (which, surprisingly, don't look that out-of-date) but when a power surge hits while they are charging up, the robot called Number 5 comes alive and so the adventure begins. As he seeks for "input" he meets Stephanie (Ally Sheedy) a kind-hearted animal-loving woman who drives a lunch truck for a living. But when Stephanie discovers that Number 5 is alive, she does everything she can to protect him from the guys at NOVA who just want to disassemble him. Great fun for a low-key night at home, you'll love Short Circuit. Kids will too, but there are some profanities in there so parents, please use your discretion. Enjoy! ... Read more

This movie is not good. This movie is a martial arts flick without the benefit of descent fight scenes. I know the cast is capable of more. This movie is about a cop trying to free his precint from corruption. You can chalk it up to good timing and a heavy dose of video-game synergy, but this 1990 hit remains the box-office champ of independent films, with a total gross of $135 million. Of course the Turtles began as a phenomenally successful Nintendo video game, so it was a given that the movie would be a hit with its target audience of rabid young video addicts. This is what comic books fans call "the origin story," in which we learn how a foursome of small turtles were mutated by a green radioactive goo and turned into human-sized turtle crime fighters. Their large rodent mentor, Splinter, teaches them to master the martial arts. They're also gifted pop musicians, by the way (think of them as amphibious Spice Guys), so they can rock the house while they're cracking a crime wave with the help of their cute friend and television reporter April O'Neil (Judith Hoag). The script is terrible, of course, but countless millions of children don't seem to care, as long as the Turtles keep ordering pizza and dispensing their wisecracking brand of justice. Read more

I could play it 'til my thumbs bleed!) and Super Nintendo, my brother and I collected the TMNT action figures, and watched our VHS copies of the first two TMNT films so many times, that they wore out.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Movie, No Matter How Old You Are

5-0 out of 5 stars David Lynch's Misunderstood Epic
Before David Lynch made the masterful&creepy "Mulholland Drive",he attempted-nobly-to put Frank Herbert's epic on the silver screen.Instead of trying to stay EXACTLY true to the story,he did keep its spirit. He doesn't explain too much, such as with the experiences of the Spice.
