5-0 out of 5 stars Patiently Waiting
I grew up watching moonwalk. I think it is one of the best films ever made. I am dying to obtain a copy to show my children what a real classic is all about. Please hurry!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best of Michael Jackson
I first watched Moonwalker when I was 8 years old and I have been hooked on it ever since!! How could they wait this long to release it on DVD? Moonwalker is evidence as to why America fell in love with Michael in the first place. Speed Demon, Bad, Dirty Diana- Moonwalker IS Michael Jackson. Please release it on DVD as soon as possible!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great dancing but NOT for children
I felt compelled to write this review for anyone who, like me, intended to purchase this for their children. It has many great scenes/stories that are fun for kids, but the last 1/4 of the film is extremely violent--machine guns, mobsters, shootings, child abduction, etc. This is unfortunate as this last segment contains some of the best dancing and choreography of the entire video. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars mad season...
Just because you don't buy VHS anymore and don't own a VCR doesn't mean no one else does either. Mad Season is an incredibly underrated band, true talent ignored by those with the power to promote the band and build its fanbase because in today's world true talent does not amount to much to most people if there is no money to be made off of it. If you want to know why this hasn't been released on DVD yet, you might want to ask the head of Sony/Columbia why money is king and why they so heavily promote other crap that no one with any taste is interested in for the purpose of making money and getting rich, rather than doing their jobs and focusing on the real talent of the music industry. You might want to ask them why they have become such a gigantic rubber stamp of approval for people such as any talentless jackass who decides to go sing on american idol and goes on to sell tens of millions of records for no good reason. Ask them they promote some of the worst music ever recorded and completely ignore the little bit of talent that still remains on their label. Then and only then will you know why talented bands such as Mad Season have been ignored and placed on the back burner for so long.

5-0 out of 5 stars THRILLER
They need to make this on DVD and they also need to make Moonwalker on DVD too. They need to help Michael get back. The video "Thriller" did good back in the 80's. I would do good if it can back now. This is Michael's best video that he made and is the best video ever made to mankind. No one can match to Thriller. It's the best, nobody can beat the person who is the best. Also it is almost like he wrote how to make music videos and people follow that.

5-0 out of 5 stars THRILLER - "The Making of a perfect artisits"
Michael Jackson strives to be perfect in life, because that's the only way to be, as best as you can be, and keep on moving forward in life, with everything you do. This film shows that through and through. Everybody in the universe knows Thriller. If you don't you must live on another galaxy, or you're not born as of yet. I remember when this video (VHS) was first released, and I saw a huge display of it at are local "Hills" department store. (remember those stores?) and was "thrilled" to death. I think I was about six, and was never one to really ask for anything,... but when my mom saw my face lit up at the huge Hills Michael Jackson Thriller display, she was like,... "would you like to get that?" I was like, yes please, thank you! thank you! mom!,....
5-0 out of 5 stars The King of Reality TV
I remember this video from when I was about 10 years old.My sister, cousins, and I would play this over and over.We knew EVERY dance step.Michael was better looking back then.We loved seeing the "quirky" moments on this video that showed his true character...I wonder if he's still the same?????It's a great video that is the ultimate of Behind the Scenes or The Making Of... type of videos. If you're interested in costume make-up or what goes into the making of videos this is a good tape.I don't listen to this type of music now, but this brings back a lot of my good childhood memories. It represents times when we were happy and songs were about simple things, not killing, fighting, and all of the crazy and obscene things that songs are being made about now. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars I love this concert
It's all of the good things that others have said but the one thing that struck me most while watching it (shortly after 9/11) was the irony at the end of the song "We Shall Be Free", when a huge banner with the word "Freedom" was unrolled between the 2 World Trade buildings. It still gives me chills.

5-0 out of 5 stars Have you ever seen a grown man cry?
In Central Park, as in all his concerts, Garth Brooks proves himself to be just as fragile as he is strong with the rare talent of being able to let the music possess and take over his anima while connecting with the audience at once. As always, he willingly lends center stage to his guests including Don McLean,Billy Joel, and even his fiddle player Jimmy Mattingly. As an audience member watching from my TV screen, I sure felt like I was there live watching from the front row with eyes in total awe because of Brooks' engaging and energetic demeanor.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent example of a REAL live performance
SIGN O' THE TIMES was an excellent "concert movie"... but, as we all know, alot of it was re-shot and re-filmed with prince lip synching. THIS, however, was NOT a lip synched concert (to the idiot who said otherwise) ... as for guitar not plugged in?You can tell whoever wrote that review knows little about live performances... (...) ... it's called a wireless system... it's been around for YEARS and yes, Prince was one of the first to use it extensively.
    4-0 out of 5 stars On DVD ? A Shame It Won't Be....Ever
Live at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, Prince Rogers Nelson delivers an electrifying live mix of R&B, Soul, Blues, and Rock with a somewhat electronic treatment from the rhythm section known as The Revolution. Generously borrowing from some of his heroes including James Brown, The Kid makes the most of every inch of floor space for a great 90-minute set that offers extended jam versions of some of his earlier radio hits like '1999' and 'Delirious'. While some sections of the show move too slowly or are redundant, overall the vision of the genius is apparent. 'The Beautiful Ones' is poignant and sensual. 'Baby I'm a Star' culminates into a conga line of sorts, as everybody gets into the act onstage, including Sheila E. (his opening act at the time.) But the jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring 20-minute encore of 'Purple Rain' is the true gem of this concert, and it is only fitting he saved the best for last. A religious experience, to say the least: only once in a generation can a musical legend captivate and mesmerize an audience with one song.

4-0 out of 5 stars Some technical data about this film
There is a very good reason for this film not living up to That the Way It Is.I am sure if you have seen this movie you have noticed that it is much more grainey and not as bright as TTWIS or other movies for that matter. This contributes a lot to the picture not being as well received. The fact of the matter is that MGM in it's infinite wisdom chose to shoot the movie in 16 mm not 35 mm as most all movies. This is a little known fact. But all you have to do is watch for many of the stage segments and you can see the photographers crawling around the various stages with a relatively small camera in hand. They may have done this for maneuverability sake but with significant loss in quality.16 mm is a long way from 35 mm in all measuring points. This may also be why they have not put it out on DVD as yet.The movie is very grainy and this adds a subconscious negativity to the movie.I was present at many of the concerts that were filmed for this movie. The live shows were not grainy at all and they were very sharp and well lit and came across much better than the film.
5-0 out of 5 stars This video rocks, entertains . . . and saddens
To start, I won't labor through listing all of the music on the concert video.Reviewer Alejandra Vernon did that nicely in her excellent Spotlight Review.

5-0 out of 5 stars The most amazing thing I have ever seen!.
I visited the official NIN website a while back and it seems like Trent Reznor himself said that he was going to rerelease this tape on dvd with a few more extras and videos but I doubt that its going to happen what with Trent taking forever to release something, anyway Closure is a fantastic tape that takes a look at some concert footage during the self destruct tour 1994-1997 on the first tape, the footage was captuered on hand held cameras so don't expect it to have excellent quality I just thought it was fairly good. The second tape though is deffinetely worth it, it has all the music video from NIN up untill the perfect drug which is the most amazing video ever and also contians the happiness in slavery video which has some very graphic violence and gore you have been warned its not for the easily offended or those who have a weak stomach. Overall I highly recomend this tape to all NIN fans.

5-0 out of 5 stars I liked this
I liked the music video tape more than the convert footage, but I enjoyed both of them still. The Music videos I was impressed by the cinimatography of the music videos in general. Be warned though, there is some real graphic stuff on this tape.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you can find this buy it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pink Floyd's finest concert video
After watching this "Momentary Lapse of Reason" concert, I promptly bought the video when it became available. The same shivers ran down my spine as I watched it. Songs including "Learning to fly", "Run like Hell", "Sorrow", "Great Gig in the Sky" blow me away on this video. I have watched every Pink Floyd DVD available and am in disbelief at how none of them even compare to my VHS copy of "The Delicate Sound of Thunder". This is the Best Pink Floyd video... I'm not sure why it hasn't been released on DVD yet, but I hope and pray that it will be someday soon!

5-0 out of 5 stars Grammy winner.....
If memory serves (and I have a brain like a seive these days), this VHS video won a GRAMMY that year (1987?) for "Best Video--Long Version".
5-0 out of 5 stars Been there, done that... and CAN'T WAIT to see it on DVD!
I really, REALLY, hope this is true, that they're considering putting this out on NTSC DVD.If not, I'm going to have to hurt someone.

It's an excellent view of past country stars and their rise to fame.It is one of the best tapes especially since the famous Johnny Cash is no longer with us.It's an excellent tribute to him.

5-0 out of 5 stars The closest thing to the Highwaymen at the Patriot Center June 10, 1995
Written by Stuart Borris - Do not confuse this group with the original Highwaymen folk group, because the 4 guys that make up these Highwaymen are much different than the men who first used the name. These are 4 legends who came together to give real back bone to the name Highwaymen and this tape is a solid introduction to that.To say this item is great is like saying the Pacific Ocean has a lot of water. If you appreciate the roots of country music, there is nothing better than Waylon, Johnny, Willie and Kris on stage at the same time working together? In this presentation, you see 4 legends coming together to make a rare combonation. These guys created something so special it can not be matched. The closest thing to them might be the Rat Pack or maybe if BB King, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen and Neil Diamond came together, recorded and performed on stage together. That is a tall tall order but the Highwaymen are all that and have made their mark for many generations to follow. I had the fortune of seeing these guys in person at the Patriot Center Fairfax, Virginia on June 10, 1995. Even though I had always liked Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, my friend Eric had to talk me into going to this show. It was at a time when I was more into Hootie and the Blowfish and Collective Soul. Even though I wasn't excited when I came in, I came out of that show a real fan of the Highwaymen and an even bigger fan Cash and Jennings. It was my one and only opportunity of seeing them because they never returned to the Washington DC area again. I wish I had known how good they were, for I would have surely seen them multiple times. Even though there will never be another opportunity for me to see them live again as Cash and Jennings have passed away, the footage here makes it possible for me to see them again and again and again and again and again and again and again. The presentation does a near perfect job at showing their legendary presence on stage and incredible musical ability on stage. Along with that, it also provides an inside look at their relationship together through interviews and by the stories they tell. Afterall, not only are they performers, they are also emotional storytellers as well. As a result you will get a real feel of what the Highwaymen were about from this. As far as the orignal folk group also called the Highwaymen, these 4 legends do not take anything away from their musical accomplishments. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Scrapbook...needs to be on DVD with more footage!
This is a great document of Nirvana during their rise to fame and the peak of their live shows and TV appearances intersperced with some behind the scenes footage. Some of it's funny, some of it's a shadow of things to come, but it is a snapshot of the early 90s (along with The Year Punk Broke).

AMAZING !!!Highly, Highly, Highly, HIGHLY Recommended. This is a MUST for AiC fans. This concert played to a SOLD OUT MOORE THEATER IN A SNOW STORM---what does that tell you?lol. This concert is absolutely AMAZING--so strong and full of raw emotion...If anyone needs proof that AiC was one of the BEST bands EVER they need look no further than this performance.God, it makes me so sad to know that AiC is no more - never has a band been so revered or held up so high by their fans as AiC was and STILL IS.Layne's vocals shine bright in this performance and his status as one of the BEST if not THE best vocalists of all time is solidified once you see and hear him perform. This VHS is WORTH EVERY PENNY...There are NO bands that will EVER capture the raw emotion that AiC was capable of and there are NO vocalists that will EVER compare to Layne Staley...these facts are Clearly evident in this performance.

5-0 out of 5 stars Where is the DVD???
I strongly agree with the other reviewers. This truly contains so many classic performances - Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Doobie Brothers, the list goes on. Why is it not yet on DVD??? People have been asking this question for so many years now. With so many other great concert performances being released recently surely "No Nukes" is deserving of being released on DVD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Where is the DVD???
This is an amazing show - please remaster this one and put it out on DVD!

5-0 out of 5 stars No Nukes (should be on DVD as well on VHS issued in Holland
The few that wrote a five star comment at this site should be aware of the 3-record album (with booklet). That only part of the songs on the VHS are the same on the records, and vice versa, makes no difference. A pity they didn't make a double cd also, and issue all in Europe (Holland!!!) I keep looking for them. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Trippy...
A few years before this movie came out, a movie called "Tommy" came out. This movie took the concept album of The Who's "Tommy" and transferred it to the big-screen, using only music and absolutely no dialogue to further the story along. I never turn off a movie, no matter how bad I think it is. Except "Tommy." In reality, the film wasn't bad...It just annoyed me. There was a huge lack of entertainment going on. I wasn't expecting much from The Wall, but I've heard so many good things about it. I had to see it. Let me say, I haven't heard a lot of Pink Floyd stuff. I've only listened to four albums (Umma Gumma, Dark Side of the Moon, Atom Heart Mother, and Wish You Were Here). Yes, that's right. I haven't even heard The Wall album. This film is simalar to Tommy in the fact that Pink Floyd's music plays throughout the film. The difference is, there is some dialogue in the film although it doesn't move the plot along at all. The other difference is, this film has amazing visuals and is fun to watch. The movie's plot is basically a rock star named Pink (Bob Geldof) sits watching a war movie and begins to remember his childhood. Blended in is memories, fantasies, and a bunch of other [...] that results in one trippy movie to watch. But, as I said, the visuals are what keep you watching. The movie's metaphors (especially the title one) are very smart, the script is by Roger Waters (although I don't know how a person could write a script like this). If you're a Floyd fan/arty kinds of films, check this out for sure. All movies, in my opinion, are forms of art...But this film is actually like a work of art. Anyway, if you're just a moviegoer looking for some entertainment on a Saturday night...This isn't the movie for you.
4-0 out of 5 stars GREAT MOVIE BUT DVD LACKS A BIT
Great Movie ! Can't argue that but the DVD lets it down a bit. The menu items do not work properly unless the dvd i bought is faulty? Nice cover though.

4-0 out of 5 stars A cheap price to pay for memories
Staying over at my house in high school almost always meant The Wall would make its way to the VCR. Not only because it was a great movie, but also because it had been stolen from every video store in town. By the time I was out of high school, the tape was literally worn out, and the weekly viewings had ceased.

5-0 out of 5 stars This movie is pretty darn snazzy...
I'd usually give it a 4 star rating...but due to it's "underdog" status it won't hurt to bolster it a little.Besides, the 1-star reduction was only considering that not everyone who watches this will have the same nostalgia as me and the other reviewers seem to keep with us.
5-0 out of 5 stars Raisins r da funniest...
I can remember watching this film when i was aged 4-7 and i watched so much that eventually the tape ran out, after that i have never watched it again but the memory has always lived in the back of my mind. So i thought the best way to find it on VHS was to look on Amazon but it is sold out, it is understandable, it is a kick-ass film but it has been 10 years since i watched it and amazon could make BARE money if it was available, kids and adults all over the world want to watch it!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The raisins rock!
My sister and I grew up watching this show, but we haven't been able to find the movie anywhere. This is the last place I can possibly think of to get the movie, but for some reason its not in stock. This is a great movie and if they made it available to the customers they could make a lot of money. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars OH MY.....
It's not entirely fair to completely write these videos off as juvenile, inane, trite and garish. They are all those things and more. Amatuerish is the one word that immediately comes to mind. Then again, most ALL videos from the very early 1980's are. I had this VHS when I was in high school and watched it religiously, never knowing how bad they really were. Curiousity got the best of me and I pulled this out of the back of the video rack and watched it last night. Boy, are these videos bad. But as a historical document of the only electronic pop band that matters, it does hold a certain fascination, especially for longtime fans. I then wondered why Depeche Mode do not have a complete video history on one DVD set. They have, after all, been around for almost 25 years and have literally dozens of singles and videos. One look at thepromotional video for "Get the Balance Right" ( I caught that one on VH1 Classic's "We Are the Eighties" last night, which made me curious enough tofind said video cassette) makes me understand why. Depeche Mode members are on record as saying they are terribly embaressed by most of their early videos andI can assure you they have every right to be. I'd keep 'em under lock and key too.

5-0 out of 5 stars hard to resist
Despite the fact I'm a diehard Depeche Mode fan, I was too young to remember most of the band's earlier work. So I got a really big kick out of watching most of these music videos for the first time. I'll admit they're not as high quality as the later videos like "Personal Jesus" and "Barrel Of A Gun," but they really strengthen their fan base. If you've got to insult this collection of videos, then you weren't much of a Depeche Mode fan in the first place. Accept these videos for what they are..."beginnings."

5-0 out of 5 stars Nothing wrong with the early videos
The less developed mind may not understand the charm of the band's earliest videos, but the ones found on these collection are more compelling than the videos from Music for The Masses and Violator in my opinion. The low budget quality adds a depth the later polished vids lack. I loved Everything Counts, the way Dave jolts around singing facing away with the camera posed above him.Just Can't Get Enough is kind of hilarious because of the way the band is dressed, but damn it if it aint a fun video! Teenagers in the eighties really had a blast with this stuff. It's too bad videos are so uber- perfect and stylized today.I always prefer the earlier vids of bands like INXS and Depeche Mode and so on. They are flawed perfection. ... Read more

In Neil Young's world--to paraphrase John Lennon (who was quoting HarryNilsson)--everything is the opposite of what it is. The fragile is epic, theepic is personal, the personal is a collective dream. Young's best songs arelike Tennyson's poems, somehow always shimmering under scrutiny, somehow allthe more soulful for evading fixed points of meaning. While there was nothingevasive about Young's negative opinions of MTV in the 1980s, both he and thecable channel had broad enough shoulders to collaborate on anRead more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Very Fine Acoustic Concert!
When this MTV Unplugged concert of Neil Young originally aired on MTV, I made sure to tape it, as Neil Young is one of my favorite musicians. When I recently went to watch it, I found that it had been taped over with cartoons! (I thanked my son for that!) I really wanted a copy of this fine concert, so was very pleased to find it on Amazon.com. To me, it shows Neil Young at his purist-accompanied only by acoustic instruments. I love hearing songs like "Long May You Run" and "Pocohontas" done in an acoustic vein. The song "Stringman", which is a beautiful song, is only found on this video. I was very pleased to have a copy of that!5-0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect
This video is a perfect example of why Neil Young has survived 3 decades at the top of the music industry; timeless classics ranging from his Buffalo Springfield days with "Mr. Soul", to his more recent"Harvest Moon". It is truly an essential for any Neil Young fan. ... Read more

This Movie is beyond great...Everything thurston mumbles or conjures from the back of his mind into his mr. microphone is the highlight of the tape...the only problem with this VHS tape that ive had for so long is that its not on dvd yet...if you dont have this F'in movie by now you should be taken out back and put down like a lame horse...if you own it and gave it less than a 4 star rating you are an utter FOOL...THANK YOU AND GOOD DAY!....666 NyC

Whoever thinks Thurston should be edited out of the video obviously does not have a sense of humor.I think the great music combined with the great blurbs in-between make this one of the best rock and roll movies ever.I think the non-musical parts of the film give personality to the bands, it isn't just the same Music-talking about music-more music- more talking about music format you see in almost all other bands' documentaries. If these people think that silliness and goofing off "ruins" the band, then I would hate to be stuck on tour with them across countries and continents. ...
