Excellent high-intermediate Pilates practice
Romana Kryzanowska is such a controversial person: on the one hand, she is revered as the person who received Joseph Pilates' blessing to carry on his teaching and methods, while on the other hand she is seen by some as turning a system of exercise into a secretive discipline.With those prejudices in mind, I waited a long time before I got my hands on this release.Now I'm very happy with it.
challenging and to the point
I really enjoyed the challenge and fast pace of this video. The work out is only about 20 min but it never fails to make me sweat. It took me a few times to catch on to all the moves (even though I've been doing Pilates for a few years) and to keep up, but now that I know the sequence, I hardly look at the tv.
The ONLY "First Lady" of Pilates
I bought the whole set.After the slew of lawsuits surrounding Pilates trademarks, it's nearly impossible to find "Authentic" Pilates instruction."Pilates" doesn't work if it's not "Pilates."No one alive today knew Mr. Pilates more than Romana Kryzanowska.She was and remains his "Chosen One."

The Core, The Foundations, The Fundamentals -- not to be overlooked or rushed through -- not fitness-faddy
I won't repeat the great things about this video that have been said in detail by other reviewers, just to address the idea that this is too basic, too much for beginners, too much of an introduction. It is called "Introduction" to pilates mat. Yes, I would have appreciated it if both a complete beginners & an improving beginners workout were included on this tape (hence only 4 stars), but what is there is solid instruction.Not some kind of a flashy performance -- instruction.
Stretch, Strength & Control
I was quite excited to learn about the lessons taught by Romana Kryzanowska, the last living disciple of Joseph Pilates. It is not every day that you have someone teaching you Pilates who actually studied with Joseph Pilates.
Still Inspired
I'm the granddaughter of Romana Kryzanowska, and I've been surprised by a few of the not so favorable reviews some folks have issued here.I think this video series is great, if you're a beginner and have not had much exposure to the Pilates method, then this is a great way to start the learning process and have something you can follow at home.Because this is Romana's first video series, many individuals with existing Pilates experience have very lofty expectations and are looking for something that will help them become better Pilates teachers.Simply put, these folks are missing the boat; this series is for beginners, not certified instructors or experienced Pilates students.This series wasn't designed to replace an advanced or Continuing Education seminar, those require supervision or individuals can take on unnecessary risk when trying to work out at home.Later videos may focus on more advanced pieces of Pilates equipment and exercises for more experienced Pilates students and teachers, just not this series.My grandmother has always been reserved about providing instruction through video, for one simple reason...Safety.As a result, her video series takes into account the range of people who may buy and use them with Safety being a primary driver of the exercises that were selected for the first edition.If you?re new to Pilates, buy it and begin your Pilates journey in a safe manner; experienced instructors and students get yourselves to the studio and take a lesson with a certified instructor. ... True Pilates Method -- for body control (contrology) & correct muscle recruitment - *not* just for beginners
As an American living in the UK, I am amazed at the different styles of teaching pilates by teachers from around the world. Lynne Robinson was a history teacher and a "mum" (as they say in the UK) of three kids with severe headaches and back trouble who was turned on to pilates by her osteopath. 20 years later and she's the world's leading pilates instructor -- yet she is hardly known in the USA.That's a shame. The Body Control Pilates method she helped to found (along with other long-time pilates teachers in London from the world of dance) is incredible.
It's for body control, not a hulking work out
I've used this DVD for the intention of unwinding, streaching out and centering.I don't expect to get a super fat burning workout from this dvd.It's perfect for in the morning if your back or neck is stiff.It's very controlled and meant for beginners, people with injuries, or people with medical conditions that keeps them from doing all out, break your neck, pilates moves such as the "jacknife".So don't bash it if you didn't get sweaty doing it...that's not it's purpose.

Disappointing
Well, I agree with a lot of the comments people had here, one thing that wasn't brought up was that the flow from exercise to exercise wasn't there. One minute, she's doing a standing routine, the next second, she's on the floor and doing the next exercise. I found that quite distracting and unhelpful. Pilates on the Go - On the Ball
I find this dvd fun and relaxing to use.After my first session, I was so sore I had to wait about 3 days to try again. Fortunately, the workout is so enjoyable I eagerly anticipated my next pilates session with this dvd.After just two weeks I have grown stronger and feel more lithe and agile (in other words, graceful). Movement has become a joy again.
Excellent workout on the ball
This is a great pilates based workout on the ball ,I was surprised no one reviewd this product and there weren't even a picture so Idecided to buy it based upon reviews on videofitness.com (I purchased it at a cheaper price at deepdiscountdvd).

I LOVE THIS!
It has a real group of people and different levels all together in one workout. you can follow what one person is doing or another depending on your preference of difficulty

Very Good
MTV Pilates is a great workout tool. As a beginner, I have integrated this video to suppliment my gym visits and diet. It is not difficult to get control of the movements, and there are different levels to watch. It is true that the music isn't the best. However, more times than not, I don't notice the music, because I am focusing on the task at hand.

Great pilates workout!!!
I absolutely loved this pilates tape.It was great for any level from beginner to advanced.It was so simple and easy you can do it anywhere.This is by far my favorite pilates workout.

Nice Moderately Challenging Pilates Program
"Pilates On The Go" by Maria Leone is an enjoyable and intelligently designed practice.
Cheaply produced dvd with an expensive price tag.
I searched for a pilates dvd that incorporated pilates band with the exercises, so I was excited to find this dvd. It was more expensive than any other of the exercise/pilates dvd's that I currently own but it received good reviews and she seemed to be a well educated pilates instructor so I decided to buy it anyway. Well I was highly dissapointed with this dvd for many reasons.

A quick and different Pilates workout
Energy Boost Pilates is kind of different in that it begins in a standing position with a few aerobic-type moves such as jogs, knee lifts, jumping jacks, and jumping lunges.This segment is very quick--no more than 1-2 minutes--and is designed to warm you up, but you could easily skip it if needed.Instructor Ana Caban then proceeds to the floor for some traditional Pilates matwork moves.Using voiceover instruction, she leads you quickly through reclined exercises such as the hundred, the roll-up, and part of the stomach series.Moving to a seated position, Ana then performs an additional series of moves, some of which I had never seen before (and I've done A LOT of Pilates videos).Then it's a quick stretch and you're done, for a total of about 11 minutes.This video struck me as sort-of a shorter, more fast-moving version of Ana's PM Pilates workout; it's a nice alternative for getting in a full-body Pilates workout in a limited amount of time. ...
