5-0 out of 5 stars Elton is wonderful!
I would have given this Muppet Show DVD a higher rating but you need to know that the Elton John episode ranks higher than five stars. My three and five year-old children adore it!They want to keep playing this first show over and over again. They know the songs and love the costumes. In the Julie Andrews episode they loved when the monsters tried to scare Julie. With Gene Kelly, I explained Gene was one of the best dancers ever, so they went along with the Muppets trying to get him to dance.
5-0 out of 5 stars Go Elton!
That's what my 4-year-old daughter says whenever he sings. My twins absolutely love this DVD and it's brought back fond memories for me as well. It has been my son's hands-down favorite video for quite some time now. As a previous reviewer said, tell the world it's for the kids and turn Elton up! Enjoy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Elton John
the first muppet show episode i ever saw was the elton john episode, and it is well worth the price of the DVD. Though it is somewhat fused in my memory with the episode with melissa manchester, the musical acts of "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" with Ms Piggy, "Crocodile Rock" With assorted muppet crocodiles "Bennie and the Jets" with the cast and "Beyond the Yellow Brick Road" are incredible. the other acts i remember, and i apologize for any mistakes i make, include the musical number of "tumbling tumbleweeds", the flying zucchini brothers, and pigs in spaceRead more

4-0 out of 5 stars great music review
Like the first Blues Brothers flick, this film offers lots of car chases/wrecks, lots of fantastic production numbers from the stars of R&B, and a major dose of silliness. The focused energy and star quality of Belushi isn't found in 2000 but the music from the guest stars is better in the new movie. The biggest mistake was focusing on Akroyd's low-key character which works as second banana but not as the lead role. Like the first film, the reputation of Blues Brothers 2000 will improve with age.

5-0 out of 5 stars Start to finish
If you love good music, this movie will entertain you from start to finish.
3-0 out of 5 stars Don't watch, but listen!
Some of the music in this movie was just incredible, especially the Louisiana Gator Boys. The movie had some great actors, but the plot suffered and their acting skills couldn't make up for it. But what the DVD version can offer: skip the blah scenes and go right to the music. The movie's not worth watching, but it's definitely worth listening to! Okay, there are some corny songs in there, but man, most of the music in this movie is just sweet. In fact, whenever this movie was on TV, the music kept me from changing the channel. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Another vote to hang the video editor
This show (and disc) is everything good that's already been written, so I won't rehash it, but the one thing that keeps you from really enjoying many parts of it as much as you might like to is the horrific editing style. Some yoyo was obviously given a board with too many camera feeds, lenses, and angles, and a free hand to demonstrate childish fascination with them by switching from view to view to view almost as fast as the feet hitting the stage. While this might be appropriate for a 30 second commercial advertising the show, it really keeps you from enjoying the perspective of actually watching the show.
5-0 out of 5 stars What's WRONG about it,I gave it 5 stars but...
What's happening here?!,every time I hear the CD(not the DVD),"Crowley" trucks appear, every,I mean evuhry time I see one,the words appear in other things:shruberry, shrubs, trees and even grass, you have to help me!!!!!!.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have...
I think I will have to buy a new copy of this DVD, I watched mine so many times that it's starting to skip... :) Well, I believe this is THE ONE DVD an Irish-dance fanatic like myself can't live without. I know Riverdance was the first of it's kind (starring Michael Flatley, who else) but this is still my favorite show of all. Flatley is at his best. We get a lot of dance with a littlebit of singing and music. Riverdance just has too many other things going on instead of step dancing. Feet of Flames is more high-tech but to me this is still the one. And then there are all the new shows that keep popping up, but they all learned from Michael Flatley.

2-0 out of 5 stars What do you think?
Pink Floyd is one of the greatest rock bands of all times. "The wall" is an awesome rock opera that tells the story of a guy named Pink Floyd who goes through a ton of difficult things in life and gets to the point where he builds a "wall" around himself, seperating himslef from the world. The music is awesome however the movie sucks.

Editorial Review

The first in a trio of very broad comedies from director Sidney Poitier features Poitier and Bill Cosby as two small-time hustlers always looking for an angle. During a robbery at a swanky nightclub, they are relieved of their wallets, only to find later that one of them had a lottery ticket that came up a winner. The chase is on as they scour the city to find their prize, along the way running up against Harry Belafonte as a sly and suave mob kingpin (with a nod to Don Corleone) with his eye on the ticket as well. Heavily influenced by the screwball comedies of the 1940s but with the thoroughly modern air of 1970s black culture, Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Uptown Saturday Night
I love this movie...I have it on VHS and I need to upgrade fast.I have played it over and over and I still cannot get enough. So Hilarious...Looking For A Change...Need Spice In Your Life...Head Uptown Saturday Night...

4-0 out of 5 stars "I get mean when you mess with my green!"
After Sidney Poitier proved himself time and again as one of the more accomplished actors of his time in such dramatic films as A Raisin in the Sun (1961), In the Heat of the Night (1967), and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967), he tried his hand at comedies, which he not only directed, but also starred in with funny man Bill Cosby, who, at the time, established himself in television series like "I Spy", "The Bill Cosby Show", and "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids". The result was a trio of films, this one titled Uptown Saturday Night (1974) being the first (and most popular), with Let's Do It Again (1975) and A Piece of the Action (1977) to follow. Also appearing is singer Harry Belafonte (Island in the Sun), Rosalind Cash (The Omega Man), Roscoe Lee Browne (Topaz, Super Fly T.N.T.), Paula Kelly (Soylent Green), Harold Nicholas (The Five Heartbeats), Calvin Lockhart (Let's Do It Again), Flip Wilson ("Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In"), and the late, great Richard Pryor (Car Wash, Silver Streak), in a small role as private detective Sharp Eye Washington, a part Bill Cosby was originally interested in playing.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great Film...
I'm writing this on the day Richard Pryor met the maker. Though he plays a small part in this film, he's hysterical for all of his five minutes.

It's tinsel and holly and "fa la la lolly" when Eloise lends her unique brand of holiday spirit to this made-for-television movie inspired by Kay Thompson's book of the same name. Sofia Vassilieva shines as ruckus-raising Eloise, who can simultaneously exasperate and exhilarate the genteel staff of New York's Plaza hotel. In the days before Christmas, Eloise learns that Rachel (Sara Topham), the daughter of Plaza owner Mr. Peabody, is returning after a long absence to marry mystery man Brooks Oliver. Eloise insists on helping with the Yuletide nuptials while plotting a matchmaking scheme of her own--to find true love for her best pal Bill (Gavin Creel), a free-spirited hotel waiter. Meanwhile, Eloise keeps busy sprinkling holiday mirth on everyone, including her beloved Nanny, played "rawther" marvelously by Julie Andrews. Whereas Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This movie is my most absolute FAVORITE, FAVORITE, FAVORITE!!!
I grew up reading the Eloise books and always loved them.We read those stories over and over and thought that Eloise and all of her antics were hillarious to the point that my sister and I wanted to BE Eloise. However, when my sister purchased this movie for my 3 year old daughter I was a little concerned.Though I love the Eloise stories, I didn't necessarily think that Eloise was the best role model for my impressionable young daughter. However, to my very happy surprise, Disney has managed to present an adorable, sweet, caring version of the little girl from the books, while still staying true to so many of her little quirks and mischief that make her so lovable and entertaining.
4-0 out of 5 stars Better Than The First
I can't say that I toatlly enjoyed the first Eloise made for T.V. movie by Disney but, my youngest cousin wanted to give this a go for family movie night around the holidays. I watch it and was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it.
4-0 out of 5 stars All things are relative
Unlike the curmudgeon above, I enjoyed this movie because I took it as it was intended, a children's movie.

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS NOT THE MOVIE THAT WAS IN THEATERS!
This is not Jerky Boys The Movie, this is the guys prank calling people and filming their reactions. It is NOT the hollywood movie with Ozzy Osbourne it it!!!! If you think it is, youre retarded. If you posted on here thinking it was, then you should find a way to remove yourself from the gene pool.3-0 out of 5 stars John's Review
The Movie was alright, but I think the cds are better. The plot wasn't really that good and there wasn't really any crank calls in it. The Jerky boys should make video tape of them making crank calls and only sell it on video and not in the theatre.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just to clear up some confusion...
Some of the reviewers for this video have it confused with Jerky Boys Movie, wich is not available at Amazon."Don't Hang Up,Toughguy!" is a video compilation of HILARIOUS prank calls, tour bus Tom Foolery, and wild p.a. system antics. The latter strikes me the funniest, they really went all out over the supermarket's public address system.A well-earned five stars! Buy it now! As for the Jerky Boys Movie,it's a full-length feature film starring everyone's favorite pranksters,in which they make a prank call to the mob and get in a hell of a lot of trouble...if you see it anywhere,GET IT,it's pretty hard to find, and also deserves five stars.Well,I hope this clears up some of the confusion between these two vids...bye for now you bunch of loudmouth liverlips! ... 3-0 out of 5 stars 3 and 1/2 stars : a little misunderstanding about this film must be pointed out
i don't think this movie is an absolute masterpiece (and sure, there is better films of Godard than this one) but it contains some interesting moments and situations like a lot of Godard's films ; Godard is not the strongest director for telling a linear narrative tale but in his film the situations, the originality of the scenes are predominant without expecting that the man will tell a common story with a beginning, a middle and an end ; however, he is a good director. Secondly, in my opinion this is an error to watch this film with the idea that the film is a movie about the Stones (maybe this is partly due to the fault of the american title, referring to the famous song of the band, the french title is 'One + One'), this is above all a Godard's film and the director uses the Stones as a tool, a chapter in his film and not with the intention of filming uniquely this band ; so my advice for the fans of the Rolling Stones is to search elsewhere and buy some Stones' live stuff (i suppose there is plenty of that on the market) instead of watching a Godard's film with the purpose to watch a Stones' one.

1-0 out of 5 stars B-O-R-I-N-G liberal tripe - buy "Performance" instead
OK, yeah, it's great to see the Stones in the studio working on what would become (almost) their "signature tune" for awhile. But this Godard mushwit...I mean, doggone it, by the time "Sympathy" (the movie, now) was released, the (giggle) "revolution" concept was just so very trite, passe and O-V-E-R.Still: seeing this... is this "thing" supposed to make you want to rush right out and roll some bandages for "the revolution?"Oh, give me a break.....

4-0 out of 5 stars Roger's Catchy Radio Waves
Who thought it was possible---Roger Waters makes a *happy* concept album! Roger's 2nd solo effort, 1987's "Radio K.A.O.S.", is far-and-away the catchiest, most upbeat album the former Pink Floyd founder has ever recorded. Although involving some dark themes, Roger's musical tale about a handicapped boy named Billy who can pick up radio waves without a tuner---and who activates a scary World War III simulation to teach our world leaders a lesson or two---is told through cheery, upbeat rock music with a late-80's production polish. It's a far cry from the darker feel of Waters' other works, both with the Floyd and on his other solo albums, but it's really wonderful stuff. Of course I love Waters' darker music, but it's just really refreshing to hear him *loosen up* and make a happy-sounding album for a change. Great songs on "Radio K.A.O.S.", all of them, including the catchy "Radio Waves," "Who Needs Information," "Sunset Strip," and the uplifting finale, "The Tide Is Turning" (which Roger later used to close his legendary 1990 all-star performance of "The Wall" in Berlin). The only thing that stops "Radio K.A.O.S." from being perfect is that the album's storyline, even with the story written on the inside of the album itself, is still a bit difficult to follow. And the album's main character of Billy speaks through a computerized voice, ala Stephen Hawking, that's hard to understand at times. Yes, you can still *read* what Billy is saying in the accompanying lyric sheet, but still...However, this is a very minor criticism. Overall, "Radio K.A.O.S." is excellent. Roger Waters has never made another album like it before or since, but I'm very glad he made it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Highly Underrated Gem - Fantastic!
I'm really surprised to see the negative reviews of this album, as I feel that this album is musically very strong.
1-0 out of 5 stars Radio P.F.T.R. should be turned off
Before I start with the review apparently this album is a "concept album about a wheelchair-bound boy who tries to stop a nuclear war with his use of the HAM radio (what! why isn't he using a K.A.O.S radio?we are surley screwed now).If this sounds absoultley ridiculous to you then you might what to stop here.....Musically this album sounds very electronic, I suppose this album could have been good stuff back in the 80's.Most of the songs on this album would go well with Don Johnson and that black dude chasing drug dealers and what not.But unfortunately Roger probably didn't want his album used on a TV show since the songs are about the real issues!Unlike Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking Waters actually tries to sing the songs here which is admirable but still terrible. He sounds like a poor man's version of David Byrne. It also sounds like some of the screaming ladies from Dark Side showed up at the recordings.Half way through this album you want to turn off the "Radio".I think it would have been a better idea for Waters at this stage of his career to release an album called "Radio O.F.F" and just have a blank cd. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome with Alternate Version of "Picture Perfect"
We were at the Fairfax, VA concert and got to be in the audience during filming. It was great. They did "Picture Perfect" twice, once from the CD and once a FAR FAR better version with less edgy guitar and more "bounce" to it.You have to hear it to know what I'm talking about, but when I made a cd to have in my car, I took the version off the Video instead of the one on the CD because it's so much better!

Mickey Mouse and his friends enter the realm of eye-catching computer-generated animation in this five-episode, 68-minute Christmas celebration. The holidays are a time for celebration, but when Mickey Mouse,Donald Duck, and host of other Disney characters become obsessedwith holiday preparations, the frenzy of activity leaves everyone feelingstressed, selfish, and full of regret.A skating contest leads bestfriends Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck down a path of jealousy and hurtfeelings in "Belles on Ice," and "Christmas Impossible" finds Huey, Dewie, and Louie selfishly scheming to get on Santa's "good list" at any expense. In "Christmas Maximus," Goofy's son Max is mortified by his father's sillyantics and, in "Donald's Gift," Donald's craving for peace and quietthreatens to ruin the whole family's holiday fun."Mickey's Dog-GoneChristmas" finds Mickey so absorbed in planning the perfect Christmas partythat he lashes out at Pluto and almost loses a very special friend forever. While the animation style is new, what hasn't changed is Disney's commitment to stories with wholesomevalues: Mickey and the gang remind viewers that the holiday season is notabout selfishness, flashy parties, and expensive gifts, but aboutselflessness and the celebration of family and friends. 1-0 out of 5 stars Poor Animation - Poor Spirit
I made the mistake of watching 'Once Upon a Christmas' and loviing it.It was sooo Disney. It moved me to tears near the end of each short.Well done animation and overall theme. When It finished I unwrapped and watched 'Twice Upon A Christmas'.Big mistake. It was like retro back to the first Simponsepisode when the voices were different and the animation not as clean.
1-0 out of 5 stars Cruel and Hurtful
My kids saw the preview for this and asked for it incessantly, so we bought it. How could it be a bad idea? I mean, it's Disney, right? The worst that could happen would be a few dozen awful songs you can't get out of your head. No. While this movie only had a few horrible songs, the real problem was the movie itself.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great Christmas Movie for the family
I liked the different stories, but i thought the ones about minnie and daisy and the one about goofy and max could have been longer. my favorite was probably the one with mickey and pluto. but my absolute favorite part of the movie was the different popups that appeared between each story. OMG!!!!, i can't believe how good this is, i'm bout to go listen to RN again, (LOL) 4real.The plot of the movie was good, the the way the videos were merged, had me thinking back to Michael Jackson's moonwalker.i wish she would've made a video for state of the world. The message from the video was true back then as it is now.i got advice from that tape, that i could put to good use now, about not giving up on what you want to do, nothing is impossible.
5-0 out of 5 stars great video
the music and dancing is awesome, and has a good message to it. Janet was at her artistic peak with this album/movie. It also won a grammy. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Before his handlers convinced him to settle for the safety of a screen franchise, the young Elvis Presley harbored riskier dreams as an actor, not just a star. This 1958 drama, his fourth feature outing, hints at the underlying seriousness of that goal. Presley plays Danny Fisher, a New Orleans teenager struggling to graduate from high school while working in a sleazy French Quarter club to support his family. He's also characterized as a troubled youth with a dangerous temper and feelings of shame and resentment toward his meek, unemployed father (Dean Jagger). When Danny's gift for singing provides him with a potential career break (and the requisite excuse for Elvis's production numbers), his involvement with a ruthless gangster (Walter Matthau) and his sultry, alcoholic moll (Carolyn Jones) soon threatens both his future and his family.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A very good movie(4 stars on the Elvis scale)
Probably 3 on a standard scale. But lets face it, he gets an extra star because of his charisma!
4-0 out of 5 stars Good music, okay film
I just recently began to enjoy the music of Elvis Presley and, in doing so, decided to purchase a couple of movies to see how they were.I certainly didn't go in expecting a worthwhile film;I was pleasantly surprised at Elvis's ability to act.Don't get me wrong--he isn't worthy of notoriety based on his acting. But, in combination with his extraordinary ability to sing and captivate an audience (camera included), his movies probably shouldn't be totally ignored.I would consider them a great way to access a singing legend on film and enjoy something you can't see anymore--Elvis Presley singing songs.I particularly enjoy this movie as "Trouble" and "King Creole" are both pretty good songs (from a vocal standpoint, anyway) especially being movie tunes.Good, but not great.
5-0 out of 5 stars His BEST Movie
By far his best (together with Jailhouse Rock). If only he was able to continue his movie career in movies such as this - quality production values, good script, quality director. This movie makes you ask a lot of "what if" questions regarding his "Hollywood" career. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Patiently Waiting
I grew up watching moonwalk. I think it is one of the best films ever made. I am dying to obtain a copy to show my children what a real classic is all about. Please hurry!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best of Michael Jackson
I first watched Moonwalker when I was 8 years old and I have been hooked on it ever since!! How could they wait this long to release it on DVD? Moonwalker is evidence as to why America fell in love with Michael in the first place. Speed Demon, Bad, Dirty Diana- Moonwalker IS Michael Jackson. Please release it on DVD as soon as possible!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great dancing but NOT for children
I felt compelled to write this review for anyone who, like me, intended to purchase this for their children. It has many great scenes/stories that are fun for kids, but the last 1/4 of the film is extremely violent--machine guns, mobsters, shootings, child abduction, etc. This is unfortunate as this last segment contains some of the best dancing and choreography of the entire video. ... Editorial Review

Nightclub two-step--not to be confused with country two-step--is a slow, romantic dance. Master instructors Robert Royston and Laureen Baldovi teach the dance from the ground up. First they teach the rhythm and basic step to music, their backs to you so you can follow easily. Then they show you how to do that move with a partner, then they add additional basic moves like the side-cross-side traveling step and some simple turns and open breaks. During later segments, they get progressively more complicated and teach a variety of graceful, intermediate moves, including new turns, open breaks, and crossovers.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great way to learn
I've looked at a number of tapes and DVDs lately, including three that this same couple have made. This tape (and others in the set) are far and away the best in terms of showing the steps (men first, then women, then together) and providing important details that others leave out entirely (how to hold your hands to make a turn). The jokes are corny but I think they present a good picture of some very personable dancers. I'm a beginning dancer (although I'm over 50) and this tape has allowed me and a partner to learn enough steps to be able to dance together at a nightclub. We'll be even better with more practice. I haven't seen a tape or DVD which does a better job. I wish they had a version for Rumba.

5-0 out of 5 stars If I can dance 2-step, you can
I saw other people dancing 2-step. I wanted to learn it & therefore bought this tape & try. The type runs for about 1 hour & teaches from basic step to about 10 different patterns, which is enough for doing a dance without repeating the same patterns too often. I learned from it by playing back twice, followed the steps & practiced without a partner. Then I went to the dance floor to do the 2-step for the 1st time with a partner who is a beginner dancer. I was happy that I could lead & dance it out. Although thefirst time was not very smooth, after several times I can dance 2-step to the music without difficulty now. This is really a good instructional video & worth the money. I like the instructors too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Instructors
We enjoyed this one as much as the Ultimate Two-Step Video.Great tips and beautiful dancing techniques.Wouldn't use this that much in Texas; we normally just plow our way through everyone! But it would have come in handy when we visited Nashville and everyone was doing line dances we hadn't learned yet! They go through step and arm movements very thoroughly and make it easy to learn! ...
