3-0 out of 5 stars "Who killed Kim?!"
I would have given this 3 1/2 stars but...
4-0 out of 5 stars Best opening scenes ever.
This was my introduction to martial arts movies, thanks to my husband. He picked it up at the video store one night and I spent the ride home thinking, "Great. Just what I want to watch tonight. Wonderful."
5-0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic, Underrated Film!
I remember watching this movie in my teens and instantly loving the film. There are few films that I liked ten years ago that I still love today, but this is one of them. The music was top notch and the action sequences sit in with the flow of the movie, rather than what I usually see where fight scenes develop and you're left wondering "Wait, how did this fight start?".

5-0 out of 5 stars Van Damm The Star?
How can Van Damm be the star of the movie, when he's only in it for about 10 minutes??? Kurt is in most of it. Kurt is the main character and makes the movie along with RJ, The Fat Burger Kid and the other young guys and girls in it. Van Damm is nothing more than a guest role at best. Yes, he went on to become a bigger star, but McKinney has also done well since, appearing in a wide range of TV shows and making a couple more movies since, right up to the present day. He also won an award for his acting in the 1990s. Kurt is #1.

4-0 out of 5 stars Van Damme's start here....against... Sensei Lee???
Allright forget the cheesy "Bruce Lee" clone that appears here and all those imitative moves and faces he does.
4-0 out of 5 stars "...no, no, no, bring it over here!"
No Retreat No Surrender is a classic 80's indie film that introduced the world to cheesy "karate" films inspired by The Karate Kid and Jean Claude Van Damme.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just say WOW!
The story isn't that good. The humour is awful. Some of the sets are a joke. But the action? Man, you just can't fault this baby. The twin nunchaku sequence is superb. The fight with Bob Wall is unbelievable. But the true triumph is the Chuck Norris fight. Has to be one of the greatest fight scenes ever filmed. Fantastic. The choreography (entirely Lee's work) is matched only by the final execution. This is a true lesson from a true master on how cinematic fight scenes should be built, performed and filmed. Stunning.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible Quality
This movie has bad quality it is dubed in they have deep voices and it sounds bad.If you want a good bruce Lee movie get Enter the Dragon I thought it would be a good movie but I was worng. It was not even a hollywood movie maybe if you were a big fan of Bruce Lee you could handle the bad quality.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bruce Lee's most fun film; a classic
Set in Rome, Return of the Dragon (ROTD) is the last of Bruce's Hong Kong-produced films.Unlike Hollywood-produced Enter the Dragon, the English is dubbed, the production quality low by comparison. Yet, this movie is highly entertaining.Enter the Dragon was Bruce's biggest film, but there's something about ROTD that makes it his most exciting.

    Editorial Review

You can chalk it up to good timing and a heavy dose of video-game synergy, but this 1990 hit remains the box-office champ of independent films, with a total gross of $135 million. Of course the Turtles began as a phenomenally successful Nintendo video game, so it was a given that the movie would be a hit with its target audience of rabid young video addicts. This is what comic books fans call "the origin story," in which we learn how a foursome of small turtles were mutated by a green radioactive goo and turned into human-sized turtle crime fighters. Their large rodent mentor, Splinter, teaches them to master the martial arts. They're also gifted pop musicians, by the way (think of them as amphibious Spice Guys), so they can rock the house while they're cracking a crime wave with the help of their cute friend and television reporter April O'Neil (Judith Hoag). The script is terrible, of course, but countless millions of children don't seem to care, as long as the Turtles keep ordering pizza and dispensing their wisecracking brand of justice. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Good movie and highly entertaining!
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...
5-0 out of 5 stars Cowabunga Dudes! TMNT is a classic!
Like many kids who were around in the late 80's/early 90's, I LOVE The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I watched the saturday morning cartoon that aired on CBS, my brother and I played the TMNT video games on NES(Remember the very first one? I could play it 'til my thumbs bleed!) and Super Nintendo, my brother and I collected the TMNT action figures, and watched our VHS copies of the first two TMNT films so many times, that they wore out.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Movie, No Matter How Old You Are
I loved watching this movie when I was little, then I stopped, thinking I grew out of it. Just recently I decided to watch it again and to my surprise it was just as good, if not better, than when I first saw it!

    3-0 out of 5 stars 2.5, maybe...
Raymond Chandler's wisecracking, star-crossed private eye Philip Marlowe is transplanted into the swinging '60s where hopheads, strippers and psychiatrists join the usual compliment of thugs and goons that make his life miserable.James Garner gets a nice dry run for the "Rockford Files" TV show, while Rita Moreno bares all in her climactic stripping scene.Honestly, the script is not that great -- for the life of me I couldn't actually figure out who did what, or why... But it's still a fun film, in a campy kinda way.The film's one truly great moment is a scene is with Caroll O'Connor as a police detective who, having wearied of playing Marlowe's schnook, bursts into a violent tirade about how lousy his job is, and nearly beats the handcuffed private eye to death. It's a scene that could stand tasteful recycling elsewhere and, I suspect, was only in the film because O'Connor improv-ed it and made *something* good happen in this otherwise somewhat addled production...

5-0 out of 5 stars Garner as Private Eye as Tenatious as a Bobo Doll
Garner wins our sympathy as a battered P.I. who's client doesn't like him and neither do the thugs who cross his path. This movie will make you feel like laughing and crying at the some time. But you know that Marlowe is tough enough to come out on top at the end of the day.Sort of corny in a Seventies kind of way, Marlowe is definitely comforting mind candy so curl up with a bowl of popcorn and enjoy!

1-0 out of 5 stars "Rockford Files"+ "Shaft" = "Marlowe" A terrible combonation
The title for this review says it all, it's exactly what "Marlowe" is. This is an atrocity.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Who was the movie more focused on?
As a nephew of a Navajo Code Talker, I would like to express my thoughts on WINDTALKERS.
3-0 out of 5 stars Life of the Navajo Code Talkers
This film was okay but they should have gone more on how the code talkers operated to get the Japanese target destroyed. There were too many war cliches in this film like when Sgt. Enders picked up wounded Pvt. Ben Yahzee amid gunfire from heavily trained Japanese rifleman. The Big Texas Marine who operated the BAR seemed like a Saturday Morning Cartoon Character. There was racism like the Zoot Suit Riots in LA. But the Marines would have respected their Navajo Radio Operater like a brother since their lives depended on him and the Navy Corpsman. I thought John Woo (who mostly make hardboiled-gun battle action movies) was the wrong person to direct this film. Hopefully the new Band of Brothers sequel based on the Pacific Theater and the move based on the book "Flags of our Father" that are be made by Steven Spielburg, Tom Hanks, and Clint Eastwood will be good. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars "He possess great skill !!!"
"American Ninja" is one of my favourite 80's actioners produced by the unforgettable Golan-Globus team of "Delta Force" fame.
4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Example of 80s Action Movies!
some maybe find this movie an old fashioned, but I'm an 80s action movies fan. I Suck Rambo trilogy, Watched "Big trouble in little china" more than 20 times and still watching the Predator occationally. This is not an old fashioned but a classic 80s action! and a good one, most of us have our best memories from that decade, and these movies help us to remember our childhood and our interests. In 80s, We used to watch G.I.JOE which should probably rated as "R" by these days standards. War and fight was the most important part of our lives in 80s. I bought this movie and many 80s actions and I'll buy any new releases of that good time actions!

4-0 out of 5 stars "The Black Star Ninja has betrayed the code. "
I watched this film earlier today and you know what? For being 20 years old this movie holds up remarkably well.Much better than the previous year's NINJA III: THE DOMINATION, which was instantly dated thanks to the FLASHDANCE influence.

4-0 out of 5 stars I LOVED IT AGAIN
I saw this movie the one and only time when I was eight in the theatre and I remember the entire black audience roaring through the whole thing. I didn't know what was better, Black Belt Jones, Enter the Dragon, or Three the Hard Way. But I do know I loved them all. I'm now 39 and I've seen Three'' and Enter'' a couple of times over the years but I could not find Black Belt Jones anywhere to save my life. Well, turns out a friend of mine had a copy on DVD (yes there is one) and I just watched it. I LOVED IT ALL OVER AGAIN! Sure, it's campy and very seventies, but for some reason (maybe the comedy) it stands out as the best of the Blaxplotation genre. As a young black kid in the seventies I loved Jim Kelly (Wow, a black Bruce Lee) and I wanted a fro like his. Hmmmmm, memories. The theme song was borrowed a bit by LL Cool Jay for Jingeling Baby. (WAN UN WAN UN WAN UN WYETT)I Highly recommend this one for any body looking to simply have a good time with a creative martial arts movie that will have you in stitches. OH, AND WHAT IN THE HELL KINDA CAR WAS THAT THE JIM KELLY WAS DRIVING. IT LOOKS LIKE A CROSS BETWEEN A PACER AND AN OLD DODGE CHALLENGER. Oh, and let me add that this movie showed the original gangsta cell phone in action. I'll leave that one to when you watch it.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the best bad movies ever
This film isn't a comedy, but the opening credits are 3 of the funniest minutes in motion picture history!A friend and I like to watch bad films, and I recommended this one to him; he ended up thinking it was even funnier than I did.
5-0 out of 5 stars Seriously, WB. Where's the DVD????????
Hands down a absolute classic of blaxploitation and martial arts. The opening credits alone is more fun than most of the movies out today.

2-0 out of 5 stars Too goofy to be taken seriously. Too violent to be a kid's movie.
The Gyver was originally a successful Japanese cartoon series that more than a few anime fans in the U.S. got a taste of back in the 80's. It was visually stunning and was one of those shows that helped jump start the freaky looking anime that's became more prevalent as time went by. Apparently someone got the bright idea of making a live action version back in the 90's. Only there were two problems: One the special effects of the time (as well as the apparent budget of the film) wouldn't have measured up to the original content. Second the script was God-awful and completely screwed up everything cool about the original. In the end not even semi-big name talent like Mark Hamill could save this train wreck of a film.
2-0 out of 5 stars Bad ... "Watchable Bad" though
I just want to be as clear as humanly possible. This is NOT a good movie by any standards. The actings awful, the script is terrible, the costumes are goofy looking, the score and music are low-rent.The whole film's production value was somewhere around an above-average 'Power Rangers' episode.

Bad Bad Bad WORST VILLAN WORST PLOT WORST ACTORS WORST SONG NOTHING WAS GOOD ABOUT IT!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Agent 007 vs the Media...
When MGM successfully resurrected the near dead James Bond franchise with "007:Goldeneye" starring the newest James Bond, Pierce Brosnan, many critics felt that maybe the franchise had experienced it's final adventure. The box office gold that resulted from the film told a different story, putting another adventure starring everyone's favorite MI-6 agent on the fast track to production. With a solid story, returning cast members and some new additions, not to mention Bond fans salivating over the casting of sexy Teri Hatcher (TV's "Lois & Clark:The New Adventures of Superman") as the latest Bond girl, expectations were justifiably high for this 18th James Bond film. While some of the efforts in this long-lasting franchise have been less than stellar, the most disappointing would be "007:Moonraker" starring Roger Moore (the worst James Bond in history), this newest Bond adventure was not one of the weak installments, and truth be told is one of the better adventures in the secret agent's illustrious career.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best lethal Weapon Since the first one
The Lethal Weapon series has been a great item in the whole action/comedy buddy genre. The first was instant classic from the 80's.Easily the best. All of its sequels were terrific, however just short of being as good. However this fourth installment I believe may come to being as good as the first.I would not say better, but I do not which one I would rather watch.Their are just so many great things to take note of in this film such as the car chase scene and the ifhgitng sequences performed by Jet Li.Brinigin in Jet ;Li was a great idea, plus compared to his other american films that followed (Romoeo Must Die, Kiss of the Dragon, The One) the movie ws deinetly one of his better films (even though he was not in the starring role). And the comedy could not have any better with the addition of Chris Rock.Although I do not think he's that funny in real life, his antics defiently gave me a good laugh in this movie.Anyway, here is the plot.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great to see Danny and Mel together again
When "Casino" opened, some complained that Joe Pesci's performance was a retread of his work in "GoodFellas". I made the defence that his character was the same sort of person, and it would be inappropriate to act in a different way.

3-0 out of 5 stars Video Game Based Movies
Most video game based movies are bombs and this one stands out above some of the ones that cames before it. Mark Darascos is a great martial-artist and this film gives just a taste of what he can do.

1-0 out of 5 stars worst martial art movie ever (it doesnt deserve a star if i have other ratings)
im a big fan of the Double Dragon series, i had been waiting for months til the movie came out, after awhile this movie is such disapointment

5-0 out of 5 stars Another excellent Wincott flick
Jeff Wincott does an excellent protrayal of a cop trying to do the right thing and getting pushed around by the system. He takes matters into his own hands trying to uncover the vicious doings of a politically corruptBrigette Nielsen. The action is intense and the storyline excellent.Iwould rent this again, as I would with most Wincott movies.

5-0 out of 5 stars this movie rocks!!!!
it's a must-see action packed martial-arts thrill ride!.Jeff wincott does battle with city scum, along with the help of the peacemakers, and his female partner played by karen sheperd(who also kicks some serious butt)!. Brigitte Nielson plays a corrupted politician who will stop at nothing tobe elected mayor. you have to check out the scene where jeff wincott mustpass through "the Gauntlet".it's some of the best martial artsi've seen in a long time!:-) ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Hai Karate...
What can I say about American Ninja 2 that hasn't been said before? `camp', `awful', `I haven't seen a girl naked' were the reviews when it went straight to video. 3-0 out of 5 stars Deserved a higher budget.
Steve James and Michael Dudikoff are sent to South Africa to investigate the evil shenanigans of a drug lord who's kidnapped a scientist in order to make an army of "super ninjas".

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome David Bradley Movie
Michael Dudikoff and David Bradley make quite a team. I was always a fan of ninja films and I couldn't wait for this title to come out on DVD. I ordered it and was completely satisfied. The picture is great as well as the sound. For some reason I enjoy watching David Bradley fight scenes very much. The guy is very unique. Dudikoff is also brilliant and crushes whatever stands in his way. I value this DVD very much. The bad side is that there are no subtitles, not even english, and the picture is fullscreen unlike the 1st american ninja which is widescreen and a bit better picture quality than the sequels.
4-0 out of 5 stars "Sean, You Can Find Me At The School"~Dudikoff And Bradley Shine
Michael Dudikofff of 'American Ninja' 1 & 2 comes out of retirement to save David Bradley of 'American Ninja' 3 who is captured in Africa by a band of evil ninja's. Say what you want but I love this movie. After all, who doesn't love story's where a few brave warriors defeat all odds and the enemy to save the day!
4-0 out of 5 stars Only for martial arts fans
Obviously, American Ninja films were made for action and, more especially, martial arts fans. I wouldnt go as far as to say the film SUCKED, as a few reviewers put it (reading those reviews, makes me think WHY on earth these people even bother to watch a film like this one). Sure, the film is pure B-series (like all the other parts) and undoubtfully lacks the magic of the first American Ninja with Dudikoff and Steve James. But the martial arts coreography from David Bradley, as one reviewer puts it, is superb, especially the forest scenes and when he fights all the ninjas once hes been captured. However, one change it does make from the first film is a lead actor who can actually fight and is a real martial artist. David Bradley probably cant act, but I wouldnt give Dukikoff an Oscar either. The idea of pairing the two for the film was quite attractive, altho
