Tae Bo Workouts
I have to say how wonderful, motivational and challenging tae bo workouts are.In 2 months I've lost 32 pounds, I do tae bo 6 times per week for about 3 months now.I must share the toning results.I've never thought there were actually muscles under the fat in my body after losing 32 pounds.I can see a huge diference on the way I feel,my energy, I feel more confident. I know if I keep doing tae bo I can get to my goal.
AWESOME!
I love tae-bo! Billy Blanks is awesome and Tae-bo is fun and easy to use. This dvd is great because it has the different workouts so you can choose what level of difficulty you want. The 8 minute workout is also nice because it's quick enough to do if you only have a few minutes, but effective enough to get your heart pumping and let you feel like you've actually worked out, even if it's only for 8 minutes! I think anyone can do taebo-whether you are super-fit or out of shape. And if you can't quite do all of the moves in the workouts, Billy will show you ways to make them easier. Give Tae-bo a chance! I bet you'll like it!

Gets RESULTS! Offers everything it promises!
I bought this set back in 1999, reluctantly.I had never found a good exercise video and was getting the four pack hoping that at least ONE would be good.Well, it's 2006 and I am still doing Tae Bo.I have expanded my collection of videos (and DVDs now) but I still love the originals!Billy is an extremely motivational instructor, and you really feel the vibe of the people in the videos.It pushes you to reach out and grab that little something extra, and when you do and you reach the goal, WOW, it feels AMAZING!

WOW!!
What an amazing video! I received it today. I just popped it in. This video is not only easy to do, but you can really feel it working. I purchased this video for $1.55 and what a BUY!! I would recommend it to anyone. I am 50 pounds overweight and I can do it. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different. Great great video!

An Inspirational Product
Not only is this a truly great workoutthat will get you in shape and keep you in shape, it has also been a real inspiration to me in my life and work... When I was getting ready to produce the NEW SEX NOW video, there was a lot of back and forth about whether I should actually be in the video myself or hire performers to do the New Sex demonstration (I am an Ivy League graduate, after all!)One of my confidants asked me, "Is Billy Blanks in his Tae Bo video?" and I said, "He is." And my friend said, "If he's in his video, then you should be in your video." So I am. Thanks Billy, for making a great program and for being such an inspiration.

Excellent workout to fight cellulite/squishy out of shape legs and butt
A few years ago I borrowed these tapes from my sister when I wanted to get in shape for a trip to the islands and decided to start with the basic tape.Let me start by saying I HATE jumping around and aerobics on a whole. I was not terribly out of shape but I had lost all my muscle tone and definition in my legs and [back]. Anyway, I started doing the basic Monday through Friday and let me tell you, within 3 weeks I changed my squishy [back] and thighs into sculpted thighs with NO cellulite and a beautiful [back] (not one line or lump or bump, smooth booty)it was a wonderful feeling to put on shorts or a bikini with so much pride and confidence.My abs were like a washboard...I recently decided to start working out again and I was looking through old photos and came across a pic of myself in a bikini shot that I took on that island and then I said to myself TAE-BO!!!!I have to laugh because I always refer to those days as my glory days and when people would ask how I did it I would say "tae-bo basic" and low carbs...anyway the point is that I know it works...trust me.Needless to say, the tapes were borrowed and never returned to me and so after googling them, I found them on amazon and I purchased the basic tape and I am eagerly awaiting its arrival (I mean literally twiddling thumbs in excitement).If you want a sculpted body and a relatively manageable (you can get throught it) workout tai-bo basic is for you.I had bought the tae-bo live a couple years ago to get the same effect but I couldn't follow through it was too hard, I felt drained after, that's why I am endorsing the BASIC ORIGINAL tape because I was able to stick to it.Anyway sorry for the long review but I just had to add my 2 cents.For all the people out there, especially the ladies that are fighting to get back muscle tone and are not afraid of a sculpted cellulite free body, do tae-bo ORIGINAL BASIC workout and eat healhty meals limiting the food you know is crap and you will see results, well I did so it's worth a try. ... Good Concept, Too fast
To be honest, I can't see how a lot of people have given this workout 5 stars.I love the concept but this advanced tape is poorly done.First, the stretching at the beginning is ridiculous - way to fast for a warm up/stretch (practically gave me whip lash when I did the neck stretches).This was the biggest disappointment.Second, the double time movements are impossibe to do correctly (due to the speed) and dangerous.Third, the video quality is the worst I have ever seen and it seems like the routine was put together in one take without proper editing, cueing, etc. A workout for martial artists
As a martial artist for 5 years, I have high recommendations for this video.The key is to adjust it to your own capabilities.Some of the moves are VERY high impact (for example, the jumping front kick) and will wreck your knees or ankles if you do them repeatedly.In addition, some of the moves are so fast they don't allow you to focus on the muscles you're working out.As long as you take this video at your own pace, it's great! Good workout, but really annoying problems
Overall, I'd say this is a good workout.The cardio is intense and you really get the chance to tone your muscles.It's a fast way to work out your entire body.However... the sets are really uneven and proper form is often sacrificed for speed.Billy goes off on "inspirational" tangents while you're left doing multiple extra sets.I've been doing this tape five days a week for the last six months and have actually seen a noticeable difference in the toning on one side of my body!That's how off kilter the sets are.Also, there are several moves where he takes you into "double-time" where you are asked to do the move so quickly, any hope for maintaining proper form flies out the window.Even the people on the tape have poor form during these sets.I usually maintain "single-time."I keep better form, get the same results, and minimize the risk of injury.Even with these problems, I still like Tae Bo and I'm still doing the workout (I've just switched sides so I can even out my muscle tone)!I wouldn't recommend buying this Advanced Workout but maybe the "Live" version is better... AWESOME!
This video is PERFECT for an athlete looking for a great ab routine.I've talked body builders into trying it (the kind who do 800 crunches a day) and it totally wipes them out.Fit it in just once a week to your fitness and diet program and you WILL see results!

This is the best workout I've ever did
Except for my back pains. I just started yesterday and I can really feel my abs and butt getting stronger. But my back is really killing me. Maybe a pillow under it will help.

tae bo on crack?
this workout plays as if it's on fast-forward, down to the music which literally sounds like a cassette tape that's playing in fast mode. and the music has to be the most godawful workout soundtrack i have ever heard! having said that, if you do not want to risk pulling a back muscle, try doing the workout at a slower pace. the ab work is good and works the whole group of muscles BUT there is simply no need to go at that breakneck pace. advanced doesnt mean it has to be faster. ... Worth Buying

Great cardio workout!
I love this workout!I have done the original Tae-Bo, but have never gone to the advanced taped so I was familiar with the moves but not a Tae-Bo veteran.I am so glad I bought this video - it is definately my favorite.I love Billy's motivational style.It makes you want to keep going when you feel like quitting.

Great for flexibility
I have many of Billys videos and a lot of them are a little to much for me, I am 66 years old. I love doing Tae Bo Gold before I do my strenth training on my bow flex, it limbers me up and get my blood flowing. Great way to start the day. As others have said Billy isn't too accurate on his counting so I reverse the exercises every other time to keep me balanced. My only regret is that I can't get it on dvd so I can do it on my portable dvd player while traveling. I have been doing Gold for at least two years and it helps me keep my weight down, I weigh 158 lbs and am 67" tall. I don't want to become a GOOM (grossly overweight old man).

Abandon the Eating Disorders, Try This Instead
After having my first child and being on continuous bedrest during my pregnancy I had went from 130lbs to 180lbs by the time I had delivered and my 6 weeks of recovering were over. To get myself back in shape, I purchased this workout. Mostly though, because all that "bing, bong, beep beep, bang" music they play in the background drives me nuts in the other Tae-Bo workouts and the music in this workout is more tolerable. It's not that hard
After doing advanced Tae-bo since 1998 with the original series, this workout has left me wanting something more.After doing it for a couple weeks you will find it is no longer challenging enough.
LOVE Tae Bo Flex! Great for muscle tone!
After my second child was born in December, I was looking for a Tae Bo that would help me regain all-over muscle tone.I was fit, but looking for more.Tae Bo Flex was the perfect solution!The exercises are familiar, and it was like they took all of my favorite Tae Bo moves, stuck them into one great workout, then added FLEX!At first it is hard to balance during the flex parts, but you WILL get the hang of it if you keep at it.I've been doing Flex 3 times a week for 1 1/2 weeks and I am already seeing an improvement in my overall muscle tone, it is crazy!I love Flex, just as I love all my Tae Bo.This one is definitely up at the top of my Tae Bo favorites.If you're a fan, this is a must-have.Remember - the balance will come!

Fun and effective
I've been a Tae Bo fan for years, and love this new video which emphasizes muscle control and toning.Many of the moves are familiar from Tae Bo Live and Cardio, but here on alternate sets you hold and squeeze for an eight count at the end of the set.Interspersed are light cardio exercises.This may sound simple, but I sweat more from this video than some of the Basic tapes, and I noticed an increase in muscle tone after adding it to my routine.

Not full of fluff..
At first, I was a little disappointed in the quality of the video.It did seem to be a home video, but I think that added to it's charm.Rich Grogan seems to be just like some of the father's I know around town, making silly mistakes in his routine.He's real.I found the workout to be easy enough for my 5 year old daughter to follow and challenging enough for me to get a good workout.I have never been able to follow a video workout before.This was great and enjoyable.Both my daughters and I enjoy the workout and get more out of it each time we do it AND it doesn't require a lot of space.I like it's simplicity.

Not for the weak, but if you're in shape, BUY IT!
I've done this workout about 4 times and all i can say is "holy X?@X!!!".I've been working out for 22 years and I am in great shape.I have a personal training license and a gym at home as well as a vast library of workouts.It has been very difficult to find video workouts that really challenge me and I've wasted a lot of money to say the least.There are no words to describe this video, but I'll try.It is DIFFICULT, EFFECTIVE, CHALLENGING AND WORTH THE MONEY A HUNDRED TIMES OVER.The only negative things I can say is that it doesn't seem safe and if you're not in shape or aware of safety, you can really hurt yourself; the warm-up should be longer and more attention should be given to warming up the cardiovascular system, he never does the amount of sets he promises- he does more, which is not necessarily a bad thing, and his counting is off.I can't stress enough that you can really hurt yourself doing this workout if you don't know what you're doing.With all that in mind, if you're in great shape and are looking for change - this is the video for you.It's worth every penny and then some.If you're not in shape and are looking for something easy and safe, this is not for you.It's a cardio workout by all means but it attacks (and I mean ATTACKS) the abdominals in a standing position and I can't tell you how effective that's been.I have 15 year old twins and I have not been able to get my stomach in any kind of permanent shape in all these years and with all my workouts.I actually have CUTS now and when I bend over, it doesn't hang anymore.Awesome, awesome, awesome.Good luck and enjoy.

Tae-Bo II Review
Of the two tapes, I think the 1st of the the two is a better tape.Both workout tapes are quite similar though.Very energetic, and a fairly tough workout

Not as easy as it looks
I ordered this tape in hopes of jumping right back into working out after having my son. When I first got the tape I played the tape just to get a feel of the workouts, after viewing it, I came to the conclusion that this was an easy workout and not worth my purchase price. EASIER SAID THAN DONE!!! After coaxing from my hubby, I decided to actually try out the tape. Did I last 10 minutes? Ha! Not even! This work out is HARD! It is not for beginners. It is for people that are used to working out. Sure sometimes during the workout Billy loses count. But thats okay, its all part of psyching your body out, LOL. "If you rest, you rust!" Denise Austin warns, and then she makes sure we neither rest nor rust with this high-intensity, aerobic kickboxing workout. "I want to see those muscles, yeah!" she calls out. "You've got 'em, use 'em!" This video starts with experienced kickboxers demonstrating the moves that will be used. Then it powers into two different, high-energy, 20-minute workouts. Austin calls the first workout "beginning." It's easier than the second, yes, and it may be basic as far as kickboxing goes, but it's anything but wimpy. If you're new to exercise or overweight, the many high-impact moves (lots of jumping rope and jumping jacks) might not be appropriate for you, and no one shows modifications. If the first workout is enough for you, you get a relaxing stretch and can stop the video. If it's not, continue with the "drills" workout (or you can start here once you've mastered the basics--Austin starts with a second warm-up). This segment builds on the moves you've learned, with more challenging combinations. If you're not an Austin fan, you may find her incessant talking annoying. You can do better...
As far as Denise Austin is concerned, this is probably the worst tape by her that I've come across (and I've tried quite a few of them!) She's quite obnoxious here, more so than she usually is, and is constantly shouting annoyingly lame phrases like "if you rest, you rust!" or "if you don't squeeze it (your [...]) no one else will!". Plus, the tape just screams cheesiness, b/c they start the workout using the "rocky" theme song. I literally winced when I first heard it, thinking "you've got to be kidding me..."
Results!
Maybe I just have really high tolerance of supposed annoying people, but I LOVE Denise Austin. Her chants such as "You can do it!" and "Its worth it!" are fun to listen to and create a positive enviroment. This tape, although its hard and makes my calfs burn, is the one that gets me results fast! Within two sessions, I notice a difference. Ive tried the gym, Ive tried dancing at home, Ive tried running and somehow I always resort back to this tape. This one and her Fat Blasting Yoga DVD are incredible. Her cueing isnt the best, but its easy to catch on. I love Denise Austin, she's the only fitness instructor that I like listening to and watching. And Ive got great abs thanks to her!

Not her best work.......
Well, this video was very drabby to me. It's kinda gray and black and there's not much vibrance to it. Denise can be inspiring at times but on this video she was mostly annoying with her, "yes, punch it, yes, come on, yes, that's it". If you close your eyes to this video, at times you may think your watching a "different" type of video. It was a bit over the top with her remarks. I do not think this is a begginer video at all. The back up work out people behind her looked rather clumbsey and asleep, missing que's and moving the wrong way, or off beat. Some of them even looked like begginers. Even my boyfriend loves this video!
This is the first workout I attempted after the birth of my daughter. The first few times were a major challenge, but I have been doing it 3 times per week for 3 months now and, not only have i actually stuck with it, but I have my pre-pregnancy body back! I really don't feel I can say enough good things about this video. My boyfriend and I do this video together and we have both been very impressed. And the best part - as I get better I can focus more acutely on the relevant muscle group and maintain the difficulty of the workout. I highly recommend this video for all levels.

Love it!
What a great video! I have bought several workout videos in the past few years but none of them have motivated me to stick to them until now. I look forward to working out!!!

BEST WORKOUT TAPE I OWN!!!
A friend of mine I noticed started losing weight FAST. She tuned me into the magick of Tae Bo so I went and purchased my own copy. I BLASTED through a weight loss plateau in less than two weeks! After that time I gasped when I saw the scale. I couldnt believe any workout could have that great of results in such a shorter time period. I own several other kickboxing tapes/dvds but this is the first Tae Bo one I ever owned. Billy Blanks says wonderful encouraging things and uses REAL women/men in his video and my FAVORITE part that made me stick with it when I thought I was too tired was when he pointed out a certain woman and said how she had two c sections and was told she could never get her stomach back but here she was with rock hard abs. He goes on to say things like "This will be YOU. You will have a stomach like this." You get to workout while the camera focuses on healthy/toned men and women of a realistic size. You don't have to workout while being forced to look at women the size of twizzle sticks and compare. After you make it through this tape you feel wonderful and inspired to keep it up. It helped give me a better self image and it goes at a paced you can go slower/faster howeveryou choose. I started seeing my abs getting toned within that two week period. I plan to go broke buying ever Tae Bo tape there is. Go for it. You won't regret it. ... Read more

I forced myself to watch this tape three times so that I could make sure I got the moves down. My ultimate recommendation is try to get it for ultracheap somewhere or rent it or borrow it from the library. You won't use it despite people recommending you got back periodically to review correct form.

I heard how good this was so I wanted to try it. I love it. It is so much fun it looked fun but most exersise is not fun but Billy Blanks is so grate in his videos. Ouch!=)
I did this video for the first time yesterday...and alls I can say is ouch!This video is approximately an hour long, and well worth the buy.What I really like about it is that it takes the best "buns" clips from all different videos and pieces them together.It keeps it interesting and exciting.One person in their review had said that he sometimes only works one side, and then they cut to another clip.This happens only 2 or 3 times, and is not really a big deal.I just rewound to the beginning of that exercise, and did it on the opposite site.This video REALLY hones in on that butt, but also has alot of work for the hamstrings, quads, and inner and outer thighs.That whole area of my body is nice and sore! =)As for Billy, he is wonderfully motivational as usual, and I find myself working harder when hes looking at me, and answering back when he asks questions.I count outloud, and even scream like Shelly when it gets hard.This video is a good time and I would DEFINATELY 100% reccomend it!

good workout, but not as fun as originals
This is a tough, sweaty workout, and a lot of fun.However, the enthusiasm that made the originals so motivating and engaging seems to have disappeared.Blanks is still his outgoing self, but his disciples aren't near as energetic as those from the original vhs set.Nobody answers with screams or counts except for that poor girl with the perm and the awesome abs, so she comes off as annoying because she's the only one getting into it.If I were the director, I would have ordered a reshoot and given them all some RedBull.Also, I think the workout was a bit easier, probably as a result of the complaints of health professionals that some of his original workouts were not so good on the joints (if people didn't warm up or follow the instructional video properly).All in all, it was a fun variation, but I'm going to find a vhs player so that I can do the old tapes.

Tae Bo Advanced Live, Vol. 3
I've tried lots of Tae Bo tapes.My favorites are the advanced Get Ripped series which I use about 4 days a week.The Advanced Live, Vol.3, is very good, maybe a little less intense.I like the music on it too.And as always, Billy Blanks is very inspirational.

This is the best Taebo workout I've tried yet! I've done several of the Advanced and Live series as well as Cardio and this has surpassed them all in terms of difficulty and overall conditioning. It ends with an awesome leg workout that really burns! AWESOME!

You drip with sweat!

Not a Good Children's exercise video
This video is NOT very good for kids. The movements are very similar, if not the exact same as the adult Tae-Bo video. Kids are kids and they need to be treated & respected as kids. Sure this video has children doing (attempting) to do the movements, but it is not at all children oriented. My families personal favorite is Kick to Get Fit Jr. - For Kids, Rich Grogan realizes that kids are kids, and should be treated accordingly.
More frustrating than motivating
There isn't a lot of instruction in this video, so unless kids come to it with a working knowledge of kickboxing, they're not going to benefit. The moves aren't explained, which is essential to prevent injury, and Blanks doesn't cue well, so it's difficult to keep up. The nine year old in our house hates this video and finds it frustrating to try and keep up.

Not as good as I thought it should be
This video was a little disappointing. It really didn't appear to me to be kid friendly. Billy does a good job with the adult Tae-Bo, but he didn't seem to have it with the kids. Besides I think most of the movements were the same for the kid's Tae-Bo as they were for the adult Tae-Bo. I didn't care for this, I thought he could have been more creative. Very tough, best DVD workout I have found
I have excellent aerobic fitness and muscle tone. Last year, I was very involved with Shaolin martial arts. I can run several miles without a problem. I take very tough cross training and kickboxing classes at my local gym. When I can't make it to the gym and I don't feel like running, I put in this DVD.
