Info stands test of time
Since this video came out on PBS, I have included it in my college teaching of anatomy & physiology--so many times that it finally wore out!What a simple and easy way to learn about the connection between exercise and its effect on FAT. Explains not only which exercise is best, but why. Bailey's humor is easy and appealing. I am buying another copy to show to the high school students I teach now. If you teach, it can be an invaluable teaching tool.

Covert Tells It Like It Is!
This video is extremely informative as he explains all the ups and downs of weight loss and weight gain; he shows you how and why they occur and what you can do about it once and for all.Forget the fad diets you're just wasting your money; listen to someone who can truly help you for a change.I've enjoyed this video for the last 3 years and I can't say enough about this wonderful man who has changed my life!

Extremely Helpful!
This is probably the best and most informative lecture on weight loss I've ever seen. Smart Exercise is a Smart Buy
Covert communicates fitness theory in a fun, understandable fashion. This is the BEST video I have seen on exercise physiology. The information presented in this video can be used by all fitness levels - from couch potato to olympic athlete. I also recommend purchasing the book by the same name and author.

This video is the worst waste of money I ever spent. I have the book "Smart Exercise" which is very informative and excellent coverage of the latest technical info on the subject. The four videos in this boxed set are full of goofy jokes, wacky facial expression, and lots of laughter. Believe it or not the subjects being discussed are diets and serious issues of body chemistry. Covert Bailey, an author and ebullient advocate of exercise, provides a great deal of information in these programs, which have aired on PBS. He's not afraid to rant about "butt fat and belly fat," yet he can also turn to a presentation board and sketch molecular diagrams that show how the body's muscles burn calories. These videos may seem puzzling at first because they are ostensibly about exercise yet never actually show an exercise routine. The emphasis is on how the body works, right down to the cellular level. Someonecontemplating a program to shed weight could learn a great deal about how particular foods are used by the body and thereby know which foods to avoid. Specific topics covered include how to evaluate one's body type in order to set responsible reducing goals, what metabolism is and how that affects weight loss, and the specific dangers of "fad diets" that emphasize an unbalanced approach. Bailey's jokes and constant mugging to the camera presents an odd contrast to the often serious subject matter, but he manages to make the material entertaining and easy to remember.Read more
