Finding Nemo is a great "catch" for the whole family
Pixar Studios have done it again. I have to say that these guys are totally good in computer animation, as well as in storytelling. Rarely do those qualities come together but here they are, delivering unto the audience once again something that one can only be drowned with wonder. Such is the marvel of Finding Nemo.

Great Film and Worth the Purchase
This is a great DVD that our son loves to watch. I don't think it is as good as the original but sequels rarely are. It's certainly worth the purchase and has a lot of extras on the disc. I have seen it less expensive in other stores however.

Buzz & Woody Are Back
Yes it's true and people didn't think it could be done, Buzz & Woody back for a second adventure. In this film Woody finds out the real reason why he was made, he was a character on a TV show and Woody is one of the last remaining dolls made for that TV show.
Excellent pick for all
Toy Story 2 is just as good as (or even better than) Toy Story 1.Great animation, very funny and teaches valuable lessons without the sadness.Some of the animated movies have scenes that are hard to watch, for example the opening scene in Finding Nemo or the beginning of Tarzan.My son watches those scenes in horror (and so do I).Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 1 have such an original storyline that is so endearing, and it is such a well rounded movie that it is an excellent pick for all.I also like the fact that the toys don't sing and dance as in most animated movies, and yet the music is excellent.I particularly love the song (composer: Randy Newman) when Buzz realizes he is just a toy and can't fly and tries to fly out the window.Me and my son play along to that part! ... I purchased this for my two kids...boys age 3 and 5 1/2.They both LOVE to watch this movie.Over and over again!The animation is excellent, the story a great "good triumphs over bad" tale.Not too scary, although a few moments that make us all jump!Great movie!I highly reccomend it!

I purchased this dvd for my grandson who just turned 3 & has a fascination with Dinosaurs. He was completely engrossed by the visual effects of the movie. The artwork makes the dinosaurs look realistic, opposed to one-dimension cartoon version movies.

Perhaps one of the best all around movie out there, animated or not. The chemistry between Donkey and Shrek is hysterical.
TERRIFIC FAMILY FILM THAT HOLDS EVERYBODYS' INTEREST
FIRST IMPRESSIONS -- If one were to imagine a happy ending where 'Belle' from 'BEAUTY & THE BEAST' became a beast in the end rather than the beast becoming a Prince, one can get an idea of what Shrek is all about.
Charming fun from an unexpected hero
Whereas Pixar always focused on good, clean family fun in its pictures, Shrek came into the spotlight because Dreamworks decided to skew the jokes a little more towards the older audience, while maintaing the basic family-friendly atmosphere. It worked, and Shrek was the film that proved it didn't take Disney/Pixar to create animated box-office gold.

Get children interestedin the arts
I just wanted to add that for a kid's version of the Nutcracker this is not to bad. This is the first version of the musical my 5 year old has seen and she loved the Nutcracker so well she wanted to see the live action version. What a good way to get your children interested in the arts.

If Fantasia Was A Perfect 100, Fantasia 2000 Is About An 89
Not quite up to par with the original, this LONG awaited second installment (not the same thing as a sequel) was hampered by interruptions when celebrities came on-screen to discuss the works. Not only did this in my opinion disrupt the continuity of the visual accompaniments to some of the human species' most beautiful music, but in fifty years people aren't going to know who most of those by-then long-dead women and men are, and this is supposed to be a classic for the ages. I also think Fantasia 2000 was missing the delight elements of abstraction and darkness the first film had. Finally I wish it had broken the mold of modern animation by being hand-drawn and painted, instead of making the extensive use of computers as the producers so clearly did.
WONDERFUL MUSIC MARRIED TO DISNEY'S PUREST ANIMATION EFFORTS:WHAT COULD BE BETTER?

If you are an adult who absolutely cannot tolerate what might be called "a really cute movie", then you must at all costs avoid STUART LITTLE.However, if you're either (a) an adult who can't resist such cuteness; or (b) a cat owner who loves watching cats talk, then STUART LITTLE is right up your alley!!M. Night Shamalayan (Sixth Sense, The Village) of all people is the co-writer of this whimsical adaptation of E.B. White's classic book.While the humans are insufferably coy, the animals are the true stars of this film.Geena Davis and Hugh Laurie (House, Flight of the Phoenix) ooze paternal bliss as Stuart's adopted parents, while Jonathan Lipnicki is the epitome of kid cuteness, but it's Michael J. Fox as Stuart; Nathan Lane as Snowbell, and Chazz Palmineteri, Steve Zahn, Jennifer Tilly and the other "voices" that provide the pizzazz for this movie.The wizardry of the special effects teams gives these animals life and personality, and they're just as delightful as the talking animals in "Babe."The movie's focus on heart and family is uplifting and it just provides a ninety minute cute experience.

I have a couple of reasons why this is bad:
Big budget nonsense!
This movie was like watching a weird cartoon where utter nonsense is accepted as normal. Reminded me of Space Jam where seeing cartoon characters and space ships landing on ball fields are accepted as no big deal. This movie may have worked better as a cartoon but I think it failed miserably as a movie.

I remember seeing this movie
I saw this movie when I was in elementary school. We went on a field trip. We went to a park after the movie. I was waiting in line to use the restroom and I shouted at one of the teachers for not letting me use it before before we left the park. My teacher did not like my behavior and she told me to owe the person an apology and I refused. As result I was not allowed to go on their field trip with them. I was 11 at that time, but I'm 21 now.

Fear, bullies, aggression, and ugly stereotypes: a toxic brew for kids
This is one of the worst films for kids I have ever seen with my four year old son.It is built around fear, bullies, aggression, and ugly stereotypes.This film is a bonanza for therapists and sociologists, and it goes a long way towards explaining some of the pathologies of this society.How about a movie that lets kids be kids, instead of this onslaught of cheap sentiments and terror?The calculated story uses every trick to scare kids.The limited imagination of the story writers is particularly insulting. Is everything just about good and evil and the fight for survival?For young kids??In many ways the film is a throwback to Cold War films such as Red Dawn (1984), in which school kids fought a Soviet invasion (no kidding!).Is "A Bug's Life" how we are supposed to prepare our kids for the war on terrorism?In sum, this film is a toxic brew.Kids deserve better.

A Bug's Life (Collector's Edition)~ Dave Foley is one of the best animated movies that I have ever seen period. The animation is top of the line and this movie is so much better then Antz. The story begins with ants collecting food for an offering, and then our "hero" manages to trash this cermoney and then trouble begins. The story is well developed and well written and unlike "Antz" we are here spared pseudo political messages and this is good since the movie is after all made for children and not adults. One important message that is sent is to children is to tollerate different people and not to judge people. The music is splendid and the dialogue is right on the money. Highly recommended indeed.

Pretty good, 6 year old LOVES it
I've rented several of the Barbie movies with my 6 year old and this is her absolute favorite, so I'm thinking of buying it for her for Christmas. I doubt I'd bother buying any of the others, it's too easy to rent them, but this one stands out for us and she keeps asking to rent it over and over again.
by far the best of the Barbie series
My daughters and I have enjoyed all the Barbie movies we have purchased or rented, but this is our favorite.The story and characters are captivating and the voice-over acting is well-done, particularly Anjelica Huston as Gothel.The music is beautiful--the song "Constant as the Stars Above" always makes me teary.The special features are interesting and educational, and my youngest now says, "I want to be an art teacher when I grow up"!

Fascinating Computer Animated Visuals !
The Mind's Eye is my favorite and most prized CG animated videotape of all time---it was my first of it's kind.There were other computer artists and animators who jumped on the bandwagon with their releases at the time of this new emerging video trend.Quite often the results were rather crude and archaic looking with bad visual and audio editing techniques. Many used a cheap Casio keyboard production for soundtrack music. They released poor imitations that were absolutely nothing like this collection.The competition just couldn't hold a candle to the Mind's Eye...
The past, present, and future storyof civilization
This video, while famous for its compilation of then ground-breaking CGI, is really most interesting for the story that it tells. The sequence of the segments ambitiously chronicles the the formation of Earth ("Creation"), the rise of human civilizations ("Civilization Rising"), the technological advances of humanity from the advent of agriculture to the future exploration of the cosmos. The video speculatively concluded with a segment of what might be the next sentient species to arise on Earth (birds?).

This is the video that got me hooked on computer animation years ago.It was released in two versions, 1 in general video stores released by BMG video and another in Radio Shack stores, they are about 70% the same but the rest is very different.Some clips share the music and titles but the images were totally different. The R.S. version was custom made for them, and yes 8th track (the temple) was replaced with (Q factor) (Tingri) (The way I feel).Yes 3 for 1!The seperate music CD features the original 8 tracks by James Renolds.By the way - the next 2 videos in the series also had sepererate R.
