Yes the movie is great but please tell me about the DVD ! How's the quality,are there deleted scene's ,any bonus material ? I think there are about 115 reviews about the movie but I would like more info about the DVD itself!
One of the funniest films ever.
Two friends, Stan and Billy, take a road trip down south but run into trouble when they are mistakenly arrested for murder in Alabama. The hapless youngsters have no money to hire an attorney but Billy's cousin Vinny (Joe Pesci) is a lawyer so they call on him to help. What they don't realise is that Vinny took 6 attempts to pass his legal exams and, what's more, has no courtroom experience to speak of. What follows is none stop humour and 'laugh aloud' moments as the brash New Yorker sweeps into the hick town accompanied by his strident girlfriend, Mona Lisa Vito (Marisa Tomei).
Excellent and Bold Comedy with Punch
This movie is funny and by being so bold in so many ways is refreshing.It presents realistic characters without worrying about offending people by presenting sterotypes.It takes the time to develope the story effectively without boring the audience.It is a long movie but it moves at a great and effective pace.

All these years later, still a fabulous film
Julia Roberts and Richard Gere magnetize the entire film and pull you into a fantasy land where dreams do come true.I understand the naysayers, but this film is not about Julia Roberts being a hooker.Obviously, some people find that horribly offensive.This movie is about love, gaining self-respect and believing in yourself (Kit . . . "take care of YOU").It's a feel good film about pursuing your dreams.Obviously, if some 14 year old decides she wants to be a hooker when she grows up so she can meet her prince charming, she needs some serious guidance.Yet I highly doubt even most 14 year old's are that stupidly literal about a film such as this.I'm 50 years old and, you know what?A LOT of my dreams HAVE come true in ways I never would have expected, including romatically.So there;0).

Great Movie about Being a Whore
This is the worst movie I have seen in many, many years.I only gave it one star because there isn't a rating for negative stars. Does anyone who likes this movie not realize that its about a prostitute? A hooker?Julia Roberts can't act first of all.Secondly, the plot is so ridiculous. A rich successful businessman picks up a streetwalker for a night paid sex, and this is romantic? What a crock of crap!!! The most ridicuous, unbelievable scene in the whole movie is the scene where jason alexander's character makes a pass at Julia Robert's character.(Who, lets not forget, walks the street to have sex with whichever person will pay her money). During this scene, the hooker character actually acts like her dignity and virtue has been assaulted.She's a HOOKER!!! What the hell is wrong with you people???!!!
The extras are 'pretty', but parts of the character development are unrealistic
The studio took a lot of time with anniversary extras for this self-described modern day 'Cinderella' film. I'm impressed with the number and quality of extras which are included inside this one release.Even with all of the technology we now have, very few movies get such extensive anniversary releases.

Irrepressible Delight
A wonderful, simple story with an excellent cast.Debbie Reynolds is a superb actress and singer.She uses a credible backwoods accent and powerfully emotes with her singing of "Tammy".This is a movie the whole family can take something from and enjoy.

Great movie
I love Miguel Cervantes Story telling of Don Quiotxe De la Mancha. This has great songs. Rent is another one of my favorite musical turned movies but they are hardly alike. Rent is about the bohemian village, man of la mancha is about early spanish inquisition, but i do beilive they have a small relation.
Story was good, acting good, singing??? What singing?
Sorry, if one is casting for a MUSICAL movie, one should actually cast actors who can SING, not just actors who have big names. Sophia Loren couldn't carry a tune to save her life.

How Green Is Your Grinch?
I was quite disheartened when I purchased the previous DVD release of How the Grinch Stole Christmas to find a yellowish grinch in the video transfer. It is most certainly my intention to purchase the upcoming release in the hopes that this problem has been corrected but what exactly is the story on the contents of this release. Are we supposed to believe that this is a 26 minute running time release with no other contents on 2 DVDs? What exactly are we getting here and what is the growing problem among manufacturers who remain tight-lipped about product content prior to the release date?

One of the all time great romantic comedies
As romantic comedies go,"The April Fools" is one of the undiscovered treasures of the 1960s, comparable to the vanguard of all New York romantic comedies "Breakfast At Tiffany's". This film is far more simplistic (too simplistic it seems for many reviewers in 1969) and perhaps because of this it will strike more of a chord with today's audiences weary of recent ponderous comedies.
My All Time Favorite Movie
I was working in a movie theater when "The April Fools" first came out. Once the customers were seated,I had a choice of watching either this movie or the then mega hit The Graduate. I saw The Graduate just once.I watched The April Fools over 50 times.I've watched it every time it showed on TV over the past 35 years.I own it,and I'll buy the DVD when I find it.And I'll continue to watch it. White Beach, Okinawa
I lived on Okinawa 3 yrs. Last 2 in the US Navy and 3rd as a civilian. I feel like i've known every Okinawan characher portraid in the movie. I've located every town or village mentioned in the movie, except Tobiki.
Cute and Subversive
I've known that there was a film with the title "The Teahouse of the August Moon" for years but never had any interest in viewing it. I probably had it confused with "Sayonara", Marlon Brando's other post WWII Japan film. And there was never any reason to suspect that it was anything but a light comedy, as it was based on a stage play.
Timeless, Wonderful Comedy
I don't think anyone who hasn't lived in Japan or Okinawa can truly 'get' this film. Having lived there for 3 1/2 years in the mid-80's, courtesy of the U.S. Navy, this is one of my all-time favorite fims, ever.It truly captures the warmth and intelligence of the Japanese & Okinawan cultures.Marlon Brando is wonderful - and very believeable - as Sakini.We laugh just as hard every time we see this film. Corny, predictable, contrived, and deceptive (in portraying New York.) I love it!
First, let me say that by quality film standards this is a terrible movie, in many respects. I live to walk on videos of this type with football cleats. But, this movie falls into the "I hated this movie so much, I couldn't help but watch it whenever it was on" category. And now I love it. I don't know what it is about this movie. I tried to put my finger on it many times. I always have and always will hate "Sleepless in Seattle," which is a totally contrived load of crap. But "You've Got Mail" has an undefinable charm to it that forces you to look past it's simplified portrayal of a happy go lucky, skip around the neighborhoods of New York atmosphere. It makes you question why you buy into such sappy dialogue and situations. It's not just because of the Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks chemistry, because I hated the despicable "Sleepless in Seattle" and always thought the entire premis of "Joe Versus the Volcanoe" was a joke. But in this movie, contrived as it may be, that interplay between the two works. Though their acting is also hammy at best, I also love the contributions of Greg Kinnear, Parker Posey, Stephen Zahn and Jean Stapleton. This is one of my guiltiest pleasures. I'll only watch it with the remote on toggle to some type of sports programming in case my friends walk in on me while I'm watching it so I can jump inmmediately to the "Binford Lumberjack Finals," or something like that. But were they to walk in at the end of this movie and find me glossy eyed with a lump in my throat, I'd never hear the end of it. I love this movie. There! I admit it.!

So says Kristin Davis, as Charlotte, when confronted with the idea of performing a particular sex act.This hilarious and clever series has many clever lines and funny moments that pass in the blink of an eye. I can't believe it has taken me this long to finally watch the show that everyone has been talking about for eight years.

Sex And The City is one of the comedies for the '90's, a slick, classy affair that's not afraid to push the boundaries to the limit. It's graphic (sort of) depiction of sex is ground-breaking, yet it doesn't forget it's main reason for being out there, to be funny.Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are exemplary as Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. The supporting players (Chris Noth, etc.) are helpful and the plotlines are racy and hilarious.

Why isn't this movie on DVD?
I must agree with one of the previous reviewers. I think it's ridiculous that this great classic version of A Midsummer Night's Dream isn't available on DVD.I own only a VHS tape that I recorded from television and would much prefer the movie on DVD.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!
Occassionally, a rare and beautiful film becomes avavailable for those with discrimnating taste! I agree that this film is more than worthy of being published on dvd. Taking into account the age of the movie, the effects are amazing! Mickey Rooney is gorgeous as "Puck". Even James Cagney as "Bottom" is outstanding. I can't rave on enough about this film and encourage anyone to see a simply delightful and glorious feast for the eyes. Cocteau's beauty and the beast was filmed about the same era and is an inspiration to directors such as Ridley Scott (Legend, Aliens) As an artist, myself, I pull inspiration and beauty from older movies that today's directors have to fool around with because of the lack of vision and no original ideas.

Genius of Chris Eyre
Can I get the version with the bonus deleted scenes in which the two boys send a little e-mail to Suzy Song, apologizing for abusing her hospitality and sneaking out at the dead of night?I really miss those scenes and I feel that in the butchered version of the movie, Victor never really does learn anything.He inherits from his father the great fauly of running away (cowardice) which ruined his life up until Suzy's phone call.We see her towards the last half of the movie utterly changed by the ingratitude of the boys.
Hillarious and Heartwarming
Smoke Signals is both delightful and educational.I grew to love the characters, especially Thomas Builds the Fire and Victor Joseph. Thomas, orphaned by a tragic fire, is raised by his grandmother to carry on the oral tradition of the tribe as a storyteller and he understands the value of elaborate embellishment in making history. Victor, abandoned by his father, Arnold Joseph, at the age of 12 becomes a bully but that is not the end of the story.It is the story of surviving a dying culture where everything is magical with the help of humor, imagination, and forgiveness.But the culture lives on in stories such as this. Everyone can benifit from their examples. After all, if we forgive others, who is left to blame for our unhappiness?

Celluloid Black and White Heaven
Watch this film and you are immediately one up!!Unlike poor Palfrey played by the wonderfully unassuming Ian Carmichael.If you are feeling down and want a story with a happy ending, thats romantic without being too sloppy, funny without being crudely slapstick and innocent but with a gleam in its eye, then this is the film for you. As ever the performances of Alastair Simm, Terry Thomas, Carmichael and the rest of the cast end up overshadowing the never-the-less delightful plot.Actors of this calibre from this period always seem not to be acting if you know what I mean. This gives the viewer such empathy with their plight that one becomes engrossed totally, squirming with Palfreys plight and chuckling at the Professors ploys and cheering when the baddy gets his and Palfrey gets the beautiful April.
