    Editorial Review

Samantha and her fellow witches are bedeviled by Halloween in thesetwo black-and-white 25-minute episodes specially packaged for the occasion. In "The Witches Are Out," Darrin (Dick York in both episodes) is fired afterrefusing to use a stereotyped old crone witch in an ad. So Samantha andfriends spook the client with protest signs and tricks until he gladly calls off his "discriminatory" campaign. In "Trick or Treat," Endora (AgnesMoorehead) is peeved that Samantha opts to entertain one of Darrin's clients on Halloween instead of joining her at the sacred volcano. So she turns her daughter's hapless husband into a werewolf during the business get-together as punishment. Watch for a pre-Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Share the first two Halloweens with the "Bewitched" gang
Quick. Before "Roseanne" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" what television series made a point of having great Halloween episodes. Why, "Bewitched" of course.Collected on these VHS are the two Halloween episodes from the first two seasons of the series, which means we are still on the first Darrin and the shows are still in black & white:5-0 out of 5 stars true classics
All I have to say is, these two episodes are a true stand out in "classic tv". "Bewitched" is my favorite of all tv series, for I grew up with it, but just in all areas these shows make you want to say, "Ah yes, those were the days". If you like television at it's best, buy this tape...you won't be sorry.

5-0 out of 5 stars You are invited to the wedding of Jeannie and Tony Nelson
If you do not know what episode you get with "I Dream of Jeannie: Jeannie Ties the Knot," then you must have given up on this classic Sixties sitcom before it went from black & white to color. The show debuted on September 18, 1965 when astronaut Tony Nelson (Larry Hagman) first landed his space capsule on a desert island and game across a bottle containing a 2,000-year-old genie named Jeannie (Barbara Eden). She promptly proclaimed him to be her master and went to work serving him faithfully and making his life a mess.Of course Jeannie was in love with Tony and while their relationship was platonic for the first couple of seasons, during which she sabotaged his dates, eventually they confessed their love for each other and on December 1, 1969, the two tied the knot in the two consecutive episodes collected on this videotape.4-0 out of 5 stars Here comes the bride!
Jeannie finally lands her master in this classic comedy!5-0 out of 5 stars Itwas the perfect end and beginning for a brilliant show .
I love this episode of Jeannie. It has been seen by millions of people around the world . I think that Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman did a great job of portraying their characters and making them seem real . . . ... Read more

The first episode is "Humbug Not To Be Spoken Here" Darrin and Larry are working on Mr. Mortimer's account on Christmas eve Samantha has to teach him the real meaning of Christmas.
5-0 out of 5 stars Superb Viewing For The Festive Season
This tape contains two of the great Christmas episodes from the magical series "Bewitched" One episode is from season one and the second from season four. Both are just great and being from the earlier part of this classic long running series are really fresh and vital. Both have the benefit of having Dick York playing Darren which is a real bonus as he was far and away the best of the two Darrens.
5-0 out of 5 stars Simply Great Entertainment
The original cast!Everyone who is a real Bewitched fan knows that Dick York was the only true Darrin Stevens, not the other imposter whose name I won't even mention! And Elizabeth Montgomery...what else? 5-0 out of 5 stars Hail, Samantha, Queen of the Witches!
From day one Darrin Stevens had been trying to get his wife Samantha to stop using her powers as a witch.Well, at the start of the fourth season of "Bewitched" the show upped the ante as Sam became the Queen of the Witches. In "Long Live the Queen" (Episode #108, September 7, 1967), Tichiba, Queen of the Witches, abdicates the throne and chooses Sam to succeed her.Of course, Sam wants to refuse before Darrin finds out, but Endora pushes her to accept.Surprise, surprise, Sam gets Darrin to agree and then the fun begins. After Sam's coronation the Stevens house is invaded by all sorts of animals and animated objects, all witches and warlocks who had been changed by Tichiba for various offenses.Meanwhile, Mr. Rohrbach, who is considering hiring McMahon & Tate, stops by the house to check out Darrin's home life before forking over his million dollar account.Wackiness ensues in this episode written by Ed Jurist.Actually, I was surprised that Darrin agreed to go along with Sam being Queen of the Witches for a year.Lord, what power those mortal scribes have over television characters. 4-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
Bewitched is one of the best sitcom's and this video has some of the highlights.Could do with having a longer tape though..more episodes please.

4-0 out of 5 stars Milton Berle and Paul Lynde visit "I Dream of Jeannie"
The guest stars are the big attraction on this pair of episodes from "I Dream of Jeannie" collected under the title "Risky Business."Episode #64, "The Second Greatest Con Artist in the World," has Mr. Television himself, Milton Berle, plays a hustler named Charlie who works for the richest man in the world, Mr. Vanderhaven (Fred Clark). When Charlie sees a picture of Jeannie (Barbara Eden) wearing a King Tut scarab worth a half million dollars, he pretends to be Vanderhaven and tricks Jeannie into trading him the broach for a beach in Hawaii where diamonds just wash upon the shore.Of course, tricking Jeannie is not a smart move. However, the wedding episode of the series made a big deal about how Jeannie cannot be photographed, but apparently she can be in Hawaii.4-0 out of 5 stars Jeannie does it again!

    3-0 out of 5 stars BEWITCHED...BOTHERED....AND BEWILDERED...
This is a take-off of the popular television sit-com, "Bewitched", that originally starred the adorable Elizabeth Montgomery as a witch, Samantha Stevens, who is married to a mere mortal, Darrin Stevens, played by Dick York. The television show was a huge hit, and not even the eventual replacement of Dick York with another actor in the role of the husband made it lose any ground with its devoted audience.

    Editorial Review

George Burns and Gracie Allen are perhaps the most charming duo in the history of television.Even those not familiar with the straight-man routine of George or the hilariously dimwitted antics of Gracie will warm to these episodes. In the first show, George and Grace are spending Christmas with their ever-present neighbors, the Mortons. The confusion begins when Harry Morton books a room for his father (whom his wife, Blanche, cannot stand), just as Blanche Morton is enlisting Grace to help book a room for her brother (whom Harry cannot stand). As is bound to happen when Grace becomes involved, everything becomes muddled and soon there is no room and two guests coming. The highlight of this episode is Grace's foray into service, dressing up as a maid in a misguided attempt to secure an extra room. The second episode, funnier and more charming than the first, finds George in the "pokey."As the narrator of the events of the few days before, George recounts an almost Shakespearean comedy of errors. Blanche and Gracie conspire to trick their husbands into buying exactly what they want for Christmas, a jeweled watch and a pearl necklace.Yet again, George is caught in the whirlpool of confusion when Gracie does a favor for her son. With elegantly timed precision, Grace Allen delivers her lines, as George expertly provides the material that will spark Gracie's humor. These episodes are the perfect Christmas treat, but are sure to make you laugh year round. Say "Merry Christmas," Gracie. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Two fine Christmas episodes from Burns & Allen's TV show
George and Gracie are in good form in these two clever, Christmas-themed episodes. Fun for old-movie fans, too, with guest appearances by familiar character actors Douglass Dumbrille and George E. Stone. The videoproducers have noticeably re-edited the shows, adding quick fades to bridgethe gaps. But the frequent fades are only a minor drawback, because thequality is superior. These prints have never looked better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Spend the holidays with George & Gracie
This is a definite holiday classic video, you'll laugh at Gracie's antics & George's commentary.Anything with Burns & Allen is sure to put a smile on your face. They sure don't make 'em like this anymore.Highlyenjoyable and a must-have for your comedy classics collection. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A nostalgic "must see" for all Burns & Allen fans
Bridgestone's two volume video boxed set, The Burns & Allen Collection, showcases the comedic talents of George Burns and his wife, Gracie Allen as revealed in episodes of their early television series. Both of these video volumes have a running time of 180 minutes, are black & white, and feature six Burns & Allen episodes (included "Hollywood Parade" which starred George Burns and the Andrews Sisters). The Burns & Allen Collection will prove to be an inexpensive and greatly appreciated addition to any community library video collection, and is a nostalgic "must see" for all Burns & Allen fans.

As a fan of Old Time Radio shows I was very familiar with George and Gracie's radio program.I had never seen the TV program until I picked up this set of videos and was pleasantly surprised to learn that they are even better than the radio program which is one of my favorites ever.I won't trouble with plot summaries, because I can't do that nearly as well as what's already been done.If you're already a fan of George and Gracie, you're sure to love these episodes, and if you've never experienced them, this is a great place to start! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Gracie is the funniest lady ever
Gracie Allen is ditzy without being vacant, and George is her straight man without belittling her. A concept the world has long forgotten about! They are totally magic.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Overlooked Gem of Early TV
One of television's greatest comedy teams, George Burns and Gracie Allen, take center stage in this video showcasing two episodes from their show's first season. Gracie is genius as her ditzy and naive alter-ego. Her oblivious nature makes her not only funny, but extremely likable as well. George Burns plays a great straight man for her zany schemes, as well as delivering witty monologues between scenes.Bea Benaderet (who would latter portray Cousin Pearl on "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "Betty Rubble on "The Flintstones") also puts in a great performance as Blanch Morton, Gracie's best friend and neighbor. Each episode of the tape not only showcases the actor's talent, but also the show's great irreverence, with George always breaking the "fourth wall" and popping in and out of scenes unnoticed by the characters performing in them. I would defiantly recommend these shows to anyone looking for some real comedy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Say "good show" Gracie

4-0 out of 5 stars FABULOUS SHOW
Eden was superb in the lead. She was amazing at conveying both sex appeal and innocence at the same time. The characters on the show are sometimes a little uneven by the way they're written from ep to ep but the talent of the actors overcomes this small fault. I liked the show much better when it switched to color (it was rather dour in black and white). And I like the married Genie stories as much as the eps where's she is single.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jeannie and her Master versus Gilligan and the President
"Genie in Training" features three above-average episodes of "I Dream of Jeannie," the NBC sitcom that aired from 1965 to 1970 and introduced television to Larry Hagman while making sure we never saw Barbara Eden's navel.First up is "Happy Anniversary" (Episode 31), written by series creator Sidney Sheldon. This is the opening episode of the show's second season, the first shown in living color, with a new cartoon opening and the familiar theme song.Jeannie has big plans for enjoying the first anniversary of her bottle being discovered by Tony, who, of course, has forgotten all about it and is due to be sent into orbit.History repeats itself as Tony crash lands on their island, but this time the bottle holds not Jeanie, but the Blue Djinn (Michael Ansara), the evil genie who imprisoned our heroine two thousand years ago.Looks like Major Nelson will appreciate Jeannie a lot more after this one.5-0 out of 5 stars Why I Like This Video
