mouth moving only
The audio quality is so bad, the noise is louder than the conversation. All I see is the people's mouth open/close accompanied with constant loud noise.

This surprisingly entertaining hour-long video takes you down "the road to a higher salary and a corner office." Translation: enthusiastic and attractive young actors humorously dramatize one man's quest for the perfect résumé and cover letter. Using colorful graphics, some animation, and a twist on talking heads that employs, among other things, a young man barbecuing at the grill and a young woman in sunglasses and shorts relaxing in a lawn chair, this video takes viewers through every aspect of the résumé, from content ("Don't lie") to format (chronological versus functional) to the correct font (Helvetica, Times New Roman, or Courier--who knew?). While some of the information may be obvious to many, the targeted audience--the MTV-watching, just-out-of-college set--is sure to benefit. An Excellent Introduction Into An Often Difficult Task.
As a professional trainer, I'm always looking for video suppliments to my training sessions. I find the No Brainer series of videos well suited to a wide range of audiences. The humour, although corny seems to be enjoyed by young people and most of us older folks. It's light, has many excellent points and appears to be relevant for for 2001 job market, especially here in British Columbia. I would say the content is 98% relevant to what's expected here. Not Another Social Studies Film!
This video covers all of the basic info, but the delivery is horrible.Muddy, slow, and BOOORRING!It reminds me of those social studies films we had to endure in elementary school in the 60's! I purchased this for ourcompany's training library but after viewing it I will never use it - itwill put you to sleep!It's terribly dated and has no relevance to today'sjob market.Save your money, buy a book on resume writing, go see a careercounselor, and practice role-playing instead! ... What were they thinking?
Please, for the love of God do not buy this DVD. It was sent to me when I signed up for an online portfolio service, so I did not have to pay for it (thankfully). I did however, sit and laugh for 45 minutes. This thing had to have been done in the 80's. While it was a good opportunity for the featured model, I couldn't help but feel sorry for her. She never smiles through a whole scene, instead going between "This is fun!" to "What is this guy talking about?". It's almost as if someone is sitting off to the side going smile, don't smile, smile, stop smiling, smile, look off into space there dear! If you want to know anything about the industry, take it from me: Ask a real person who does any kind of print work. Go ask your local photographer. Just don't waste your hard earned money on this DVD.

Not the best, but not the worst...
My advise is that you CAN get this tape.... it had somehelpful tips... but not a lot. It's not really worth it. It goes over what we all know. And the "How To Pose" is a joke. It should be changed to "How To Look Constipated." You'd be better off getting a book about modeling. Don't overlook modeling school!! I am currently in a school and I have learned A LOT! That's the best information that I have ever found!

The only source a prospective model needs!

An Educator reviews, "Astronauts...Space," (Dreamquest...)
I use "Astronauts and other exciting careers in Space" in my sixth grade middle school classroom.It is exciting and holds the interest of my energetic students.It is useful for inspiring my students to aim for higher goals, such as working for the space industry, and for teaching character building as well as for giving them reasons to stay away from drugs and to stay in school.The filming is excellent and shows pictures of actual astronauts working in space and even doing stunts in their weightless condition.Ed Flanagan offers a Teacher's Discussion & Resource Guide with the video when he knows it is for a teacher.

As one of the Directors Of Aersopace Education for the United States Air Force Auxiliary, Civl Air Patrol Cadet Program in the middle east region, I am always looking for excellent educational resource materials for our instructors to supplement with our Aerospace Education Program. I found this award winning video to be quite engaging for young people (as well as adults), particularly with information, visuals, and interviews presented in an eye catching way that that captures the viewer's interest from beginning to end. This is not a new recycle of the usual standard issue information we all know about astronauts and the space program, but a deeper look at what really goes on behind the scenes with great interviews and some spectacular shots not previously seen in other video productions to date.I am also very impressed with the strong character example and message for young people presented in this video that encourages them to focus, pursue, and achieve success whether it be the space program or any career. For any teacher, educator, or space enthusiast this video is a must for your library or resource center, and will be the one you turn to the most when you need an an exciting and engaging presenation on space exploration and related careers. Be sure to check out another video in this series, Jet Pilots, which has some spectacular footage of the Air Force Thunderbirds, stealth fighters and the new F-22 Raptor.
