5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to do and follow
I hate to exercise.I'm lazy. I have bad coordination. I'm the type that trips over patterns in the linoleum:) With that said..I must urge others like me to try this work out. I found this to be very easy to follow. You have just three basic moves. Walk, kicks and side steps. I really like that the people in the work out are a range of fitness and age.(20's-60's) There is one older man and an older woman plus a younger woman who is heavier.I love that the instructor is in her 50's.I get a great deal of insperation from them. They show you one person to watch who is modifying the moves to lessen the intensity. I found this to be very helpful since I have just started this 5 days ago. No weights are needed. I have more energy already. While there is no weight loss yet, I know it will come.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great workout
I can usually only stick with working out for a few weeks, but this video has kept me motivated.I bought the three different videos at the same time (1 mile, 2 miles and 3 miles) so depending on how much time I have I can choose which one to do.It doesn't leave you too exhausted to move, but you get a great workout.

5-0 out of 5 stars REALLY BURN FAT - NO EQUIPMENT NECESSARY!
I own this and many other of Leslie's walking videos. They are all great, easy to follow and best of all do not require special equipment. all you need is a sturdy pair of sneakers (no fancy and expensive exercise clothing either just whatever is comfortable for you). I wish I had discovered Leslie's videos several years ago before I spent a lot of $$$$ on exercise equipment that has hardly ever been used.I use Leslie's videos 4-5 times a week and am never bored.Save your money. Don't sink it into exercise machines that take up space and end up been used as clothes racks! Invest more than a few $$ for a good pair of walking shoes for those precious feet and walk with Leslie everyday rain, sleet, snow, or shine. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Used 3 times
I forced myself to watch this tape three times so that I could make sure I got the moves down. My ultimate recommendation is try to get it for ultracheap somewhere or rent it or borrow it from the library. You won't use it despite people recommending you got back periodically to review correct form.

3-0 out of 5 stars slow instructions
good tape but the instructions give are very slow, which is boring a little bit. i think it suits slow-reaction people

5-0 out of 5 stars This such fun and it is grate
I heard how good this was so I wanted to try it. I love it. It is so much fun it looked fun but most exersise is not fun but Billy Blanks is so grate in his videos. Another thing I love is that billy tells you evreything andhe repeats the same thing over again in case you missed it or did notunderstand it. I say this is a must have video for anybody even if you allready have another exersise program. ... Read more

If you are tired of the canned enthusiasm, confusing routines, and sometimes dangerous directives of the latest wave of fat-blasting, kung-fu-fighting, contortionist fitness trends, introduce yourself to Jennifer Kries, the most refreshing instructor to hit home televisions in the past decade. Kries has developed an impressive array of videos and DVDs devoted to what she calls "three-dimensional toning," focusing on "improving the body's efficiency and functionality rather than just changing its appearance."Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Everything you need
I have several pilates- and yoga-inspired workout dvd's, but I always end up going back to this one.The 2 main reasons for this are: 1)Each workout, and the 3 together, have a great amount of variety and they don't get boring, and 2)Everything you need is on this one dvd.The metabolic booster, my favorite segment, includes total-body strength, stretching, and cardio.I am not much for dancing, but I learned this routine fairly painlessly and continue to enjoy it.For me the routine quite effectively targets the buns without endless and boring squats and lunges, which I appreciate.I usually follow the metabolic booster with the core conditioning segment, which targets more muscle groups than your average 20-minute pilates routine.I like the final rejuvevation segment for days when I'm not feeling up to a full workout, or if I've gotten a little out of shape and I need to ease back into the other 2 workous.I am thrilled with this dvd and I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is an excellent workout!!!!!!
This is my favorite workout CD.I've have been doing pilates for quite some time but have been concerned that it doesn't really have that cardio effect. This tape has it all.The metabolic booster is a great compliment to the other two segments. And, Jennifer moves right through without an endless description of how to do each movement.I highly recommend this CD!

5-0 out of 5 stars a "perfect" workout!
I am so glad I ordered this DVD! I think Jennifer Kries gives great instruction, and unlike some new pilates videos out there being marketed by any fitness guru, Jennifer Kries makes certain that you understand proper breathing and "navel to spine". She also gives little reminders about form, that I found helpful. Read more

Editorial Review

It was probably inevitable that Jane Fonda, who played such a defining role in the aerobics boom of the 1980s, would be on the yoga train as well when it started rolling in the 1990s. And on this tape (recorded in 1993), she does a good job of it. The focus is on the "sun salutation," a connected series of poses that builds strength, flexibility, and balance, and with repeated practice this offers what Fonda calls "an excellent full-body workout." The program is divided into three sections, any one of which can be practiced on its own. The first breaks down the various poses comprising the sun salute, while the second is devoted to several repetitions of the salute itself; three variations are offered, two incorporating some of Fonda's own techniques and one that's closer to the "classical" or "Series C" salutation. The final section (which might actually be a better place to prepare for your practice than to finish it) focuses on relaxation and breathing. Fonda's manner is brisk, but her instructions are clear and concise, and while the tape isn't especially difficult, it should prove challenging enough for beginners and most intermediates. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Really intentense Yoga by Jane
I got this tape as a present for my birthday.I think it is a really good yoga tape.Jane Fonda really makes yoga fun and easy. This tape is ideal for experienced yoga people as it is for non-yoga people.
5-0 out of 5 stars An awesome intro to yoga - if only there was a DVD!
"Jane Fonda's Yoga Exercise Workout" is one of the first exercise videos I bought, and it's still one of my favorites!
5-0 out of 5 stars Jane Fonda: Yoga Exercise Workout
In this tape, Jane Fonda gives a basic introduction to each of the difficult yoga poses in the Sun Salutation before going into the full Salutation. The tape offers three levels, thus bringing this particular series of poses into the range of even the beginning student. It is one of the best tutorials I have come across for this demanding but rewarding exercise. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Richard Simmons: Platinum Sweat - Sweatin' for Seniors
I really like this video. It is a good aerobics video for older adults or those just starting to exercise. Richard Simmons makes the workout fun as in all his videos, but what I especially like about this video is it is only 25 minutes long.

5-0 out of 5 stars Leisa Hart is a 5 Star instructor
After doing Fitmama Prenatal with Leisa Hart, I have become a big fan of hers because of the great ease I had with my pregnancy and delivery and I owe it all to my great motivation I got from her and the workouts in Fitmama. Now, I have enjoyed her Postnatal video, the workouts are short and to the point and I got my bouncing back. I have gained alot of strenght doing this video and am now doing some of Leisa's other great videos and I feel like she is the angel that has saved my body and rekindle my marriage and my husband is glad I am now doing some many of Leisa's workouts, I feel great and look better than ever and it's because of Leisa Hart's strong and sincere encouragement she offers in her workouts.

5-0 out of 5 stars my body is quickly getting back into shape after baby 3!
my husband laughs at me when he see's me working out to exercise videos, but he is so much so enjoying my firm and tight body that makes him love to call me his little "fitmama" after doing Leisa Hart's prenatal and now postnatal videos. I love the way she instructed the three different trimesters in the prenatal fitmama video, and in the postnatal she is always giving cues for women who had different types of deliveries, she is very encouraging and comforting in her delivery of the information, and she never grates on your nerves like some tv people could do. She is very warm and enthusiastic, I love her style of workouts. My body quikcly got back into shape after my third baby, and I feel completely confident that it had everything to do with Leisa's preparation in her prenatal fitmama video and now the fitmama postnatal has allowed me to advance to other great workouts of hers, like the Gym in A Box and her Core Bar videos. I love her style and don't really use other videos, just hers, she is very very special.....i really am glad I found her reviews at this site and others and am very thankful to her for her guidance( and my hubbie is pretty thankful too :-) ) !!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars great postnatal programming
This is a grea postnatal program. I felt very comfortable doing the moves and my body responded very well, especially after doing the FITMAMA PRENATAL video for my entire pregnancy. I read great reviews of both videos and really loved them, they helped me stay strong and focused. Th FITMAMA POSTNATAL has allowed me to get back into biking shape, and I can enjoy the outdoors and wear some sexy clothing once again, now that i am a Fitmama!!! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Kari Anderson- One on One Step Aerobics
I really liked this video.I think it's great for all levels of fitness.I was very fit, then had some medical problems and I'm just beginning again.I found Kari's instructions easy to follow and I can adjust the workouts as I go.If I ever get bored, I'll add the other Shape Personal Training System Videos to my collection also.I gave it a 4 because it could use some more upbeat music.

4-0 out of 5 stars Kari Anderson delivers - again
Kari Anderson is easy to follow, staying one step ahead of you at all times. I liked this video because there wasn't a lot of jumping moves (although she does demonstrate a few jumps for an alternate, higher-intensity workout) or complicated choreography. Basically, Kari Anderson is a great instructor and she's becoming a permanent addition to my home exercise library.I only gave this 4 out of 5 stars because the set they used was very cheap and cheesy... If you can ignore that part and just keep your focus on the workout you'll do fine!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Starter
Kari Anderson is a phenomenal instructor. Her one-on-one video is a great beginner step workout. She explains the moves very well, and as you get better there is room to make the workout more intense. This is anexcellent way to learn step and prepare for her other excellent videos. ... Read more

Editorial Review

This 1997 body-shaping workout is aimed at "beginners of all ages,"especially those who are reluctant to lift weights. The scene is a beach, whereperky Denise Austin takes you through a light, easy, safe, strengtheningworkout. She starts with standing leg lifts (holding onto a chair for balance)for the outer and inner thighs and hamstrings (the back of the thighs),including plenty of explanation along the way to help you know what musclesyou're using and how to work them correctly. You'll need dumbbells for theupper-body workout, and although Austin says you can use "soup cans" if youdon't own weights, you won't gain much strength that way. Even though the wholeworkout lasts only 30 minutes, Austin hits all the major muscle groups, including abdominal.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for a beginner.....
Very nice tape for the true beginner! It's a light, easy way to tone and firm your muscles, but at the same time you DO feel the exercises, so you know it's working. I've been using this tape for about 2 weeks now and I have already noticed some changes in my arms, legs, and back. The tape offers basic moves that anybody can do, which is great for me! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the warm-up and cool-down/stretch is a little too short. I also use Denise Austin's video "stretch & Flex" after this video to add in an extra cool-down. I do recommend you try this video!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good for beginners or the time crunched.
In just a half an hour, denise austin goes through a variety of moves to tone your whole body. The moves are basic, but it's good for the time crunched, fitting everything into a half hour with light stretch to follow. It's not the most challenging but when you need the assistance of a tape to get you disciplined and moving, it helps.

4-0 out of 5 stars Almost Perfect
If you look at my other reviews, you can see I am a Denise Austin fan, and this video did not disappoint.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice and fairly short
I enjoyed the Mega Mix Blast-off because it was fairly short and great when you don't have much time. As with most Richard Simmons videos, the first time watching the tape is the hardest. This one has a quick weight workout at the end, so your muscles don't kill the next day and you still see great results. I think his videos are such a success because you become hooked and keep coming back for more. This this tape is no exception.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love it
I have used this video for about 6 months now.The music is up beat and fun and the moves - easy to learn.I enjoy doing it (unlike almost every other workout I have done over the years) and don't feel "dead" by the time it is over.I do feel like I have worked out, however and I have lost about 1/2 of the weight I wanted to.My only complaint is that there is no DVD version. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Buns, buns and more buns.....
This 40 minute workout is led by Tamilee Webb, who has led most of the "Steel" workouts. This one is super advanced for buns and lower body.Half of the routine is done standing and the other half on the floor.Equipment that is used in this workout are a step or box, light dumbells (1-5lb) and a mat if you do not have carpet.Of course if you do not have a step you can still do the moves without it.
5-0 out of 5 stars At last!
Or, should I say, "at lust," as here is a Tamilee Webb BUNS OF STEEL video that lets you see Tamilee Webb's rear end.She only shows her thong-revealing buttocks for a couple of seconds, though.Odd, when you think about it, as what is the point of promoting a buns exercise tape without showing the instructor from the rear?Check out Tamilee Webb's ABS OF STEEL videos and the camera is all over her stomach, after all.

3-0 out of 5 stars Ho hum
IF you can stand Denise's super chatty style, this one is okay if you need a quick workout but don't expect a real burn or even much sweat unless you're a true beginner. If you are, this one is a great introduction to step and can really get your heart rate up but if you've been at it even three times a week for a few months, this one is good if you're short on time or having a low-energy day.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best step tape I have ever used!
I like Denise's bubbly and encouraging personality. I think this is the best tape out there. I have lost over 10 pounds using this tape. I use three pound weights for the first segment. I am also using the 8 inch step. Anyone can do this tape and lose weight. I think that it is good for beginners and people who are more advanced. If you are nervous about trying step aerobics but want to try it, this is the tape for you. Just take your time and have fun!

1-0 out of 5 stars Irritating voice
I'm afraid I'm not sure how good the workout itself was--I couldn't get past how much I disliked Denise's voice! For some reason her, "Come on! You can do it!" made me want to throw something at the TV. I threw this video away almost as soon as I bought it.If you're easily irritated by people with annoying voices and mannerisms, DO NOT buy this tape. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Misleading
Her instruction may be very good but this was filmed in the early 1990's. I ordered this video under the impression it was filmed within the past few years (release date: 2002). However, the packaging of the video box was simply updated.I also didn't realize that I would need a step or bench to complete the workout. Just know what you are ordering!

5-0 out of 5 stars Helped me lose 20 pounds
Since starting the Karen Voight tapes, (This in combination with Lean Legs and Buns) I have lost a total of 20 pounds. Not only have I gone from a size 10-12 to a 4-6, my body is in excellent condition. My body does'nt feel skinny, but toned and strengthened.I dont ususally write reviews, but felt I had to for this one.The workouts start easy and intensify, making it easy to start and increase with your stamina.Good job Karen.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good video from one of today's top instructors
This is a very good toning video which specifically targets the arms and abs.It begins with what the box calls a "preworkout drill," which is basically a few minutes of instruction on how to keep your lower back grounded on the floor while performing the abs exercises; once you know how to do this, you can skip over this section.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Ouch!=)
I did this video for the first time yesterday...and alls I can say is ouch! This video is approximately an hour long, and well worth the buy. What I really like about it is that it takes the best "buns" clips from all different videos and pieces them together. It keeps it interesting and exciting. One person in their review had said that he sometimes only works one side, and then they cut to another clip. This happens only 2 or 3 times, and is not really a big deal.I just rewound to the beginning of that exercise, and did it on the opposite site. This video REALLY hones in on that butt, but also has alot of work for the hamstrings, quads, and inner and outer thighs. That whole area of my body is nice and sore! =)As for Billy, he is wonderfully motivational as usual, and I find myself working harder when hes looking at me, and answering back when he asks questions.I count outloud, and even scream like Shelly when it gets hard. This video is a good time and I would DEFINATELY 100% reccomend it!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Essential Exercise Video
A must-own exercise video, in this Leslie takes you on a 25 minute intense aerobics workout. Using only basic exercise moves (kicking, side-stepping, kick backs and knee lifts, mostly), Sansone gets you out of your seat with fast-paced music, inspirational words for dieters and overly enthusiastic comments on how well you're doing. In all fairness, nothing has helped me more than this video. I've been using this (varied with a twenty minute audio cassette also by Leslie- great for traveling) three times a week for two years. I lost the ten pounds I wanted to and haven't gained an ounce back since, WITH NO DIET CHANGES! 5-0 out of 5 stars The best yet for couch potatos
I would highly recommend this tape to anyone that is just starting to exercise or has never exercised. It is so easy to do and follow.I have had knee surgery, and cannot do to much twisting or jumping, and this tape is just what I have been looking for.I will certainly purchase more of Leslie's tapes in the future.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great quick workout
This is a great workout in a short amount of time. I also like it because Leslie is alone, so you don't have to deal with all the chatter like in some of her other videos. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent tape!
David Carradine put together a very good video here.
2-0 out of 5 stars Sloppy form - sad to say
I was very disappointed in the sloppy form (from the stretching exercises to the combination exercises). I expected a Master of Kung Fu to be consistent about every body movement. The stretching exercises were incredibly sloppy and demonstrated not by Carradine but by the students, maybe Carradine can't do the exercises anymore. I would recommend Rodney Yee's "Yoga for Strength" to see the proper form for most of the stretching exercises. I'll keep looking for a Kung Fu instructional tape showing correct form. As for Carradine's Tai Chi tape to accompany the Kung Fu tape, I much prefer Terry Dunn's Tai Chi. For the simple and important reason, NO SLOPPY MOVEMENTS.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Real Martial Art Workout
I have studied the martial arts for 21 years. This video provides an excellent workout for the martial artist in every sense! The extremely thorough stretching routine insure that no injury will occur, and thestances and basic run through on the punches and kicks allow thepractitioner to become totally familiar with the basic techniques beforeputting them together in the combination excercises (similar to katas, orprograms for the Karate or Tae Kwon Do students out there). In his book"The Spirit of Shaolin" David Carradine said that this was the"yin" (hard) of the two videos (the Tai Chi being the"yang" or "soft") and that it is challenging and evenvigorous. I agree with this assesment and must give it my highest rating. of five stars. I expect to be using this video for a long time to come, andwill definately purchase another one when this one wears out. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Short and intense ab workout.
Tamilee is great. This tape is awesome.Only 10 minutes a day and it works. There are 3 segments 10 minutes each.I started doing these short, intense workouts daily and after years of trying to get good abs, I'm on my way.

5-0 out of 5 stars So much variety!
I adore this video. It's very effective and works the abs well. It's challenging enough for advanced excercisers and a fun challenge for beginners. There is tons of variety as well... there are 3 segments each ten minutes. One is classic excercises, one is a bit more challenging, and the last uses a step. GREAT VIDEO TAMILEE!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Three 10 minutes workouts for Variety Ab Work
I've been a long time fan of Tamilee Web's for over ten years.I was completely dedicated to her 1991 Abs of Steel 2 tape, a total of 40 minutes, 2 sections for alternate days.Tamilee's Abs, Abs, Abs offers 3 different sets of abdominal work, each in increments of 10 minutes. The exercises are controlled, concise, easy to follow and definately targeted.I reccommend this video to someone who is looking for shorter spurts of abs work and desires variety.Tamilee Webb gives us both with this video. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars For you, if you're out-of-shape, a little clumsy and...

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Workout
I consider myself an intermediate exerciser and I find this workout challenging. It is broken into circuits, with higher impact followed by some quick toning.I don't think the toning is enough to really build muscle, but the workout definitely gets my heart rate up.She doesn't use the step much, so if you are looking for a good step-aerobic workout--look elsewhere. Some of the circuits are a lot more challenging than others, I find three of the six difficult and three faily easy.Overall, it has a nice variety and is fun.I don't get bored and at 45 minutes, it is perfect for those workout days when you want something complete, but don't have a lot of time.I like to have a lot of variety available (The Firm, Tae Bo, and running are my staples, with the occassional random video thrown in), but even after three years, I keep coming back to this video.

5-0 out of 5 stars efficient overall workout
I've been working out with Denise's videos for years. This one is her best in terms of real cardio and toning.I like to alternate this one, which is very high impact, with cycling, the elliptical, or running (also high impact but better cardio). The moves are derived from sports, i.e., basketball, skiing, skating -- nothing "dancey."
4-0 out of 5 stars Circuit training fun, but riddled with mistakes
This is a good video in that the routine is constantly changing, there's no tricky footwork, it's based on moves you'd use during various sports (inline skating, skiing, boxing, and basketball) and it definitely gives you a good workout. Problem I have is that there are SO MANY mistakes made that are not edited out. The instructor very often loses touch with the beat of the music, which throws off the other people working out on the video and throws me off as well. Then there's a HUGE mistake in the cross-country ski section (you can't miss it) where one move is totally forgotten but they somehow just keep going. It makes for a sloppy production, if you ask me. Fortunately it's a simple enough routine that after watching it a few times you figure out how to do it without stumbling over the mistakes they're making on the video. ... Read more
