In the beginning the exercises put my neck through a lot of training (and some pain) but the bonus has been a nice neckline. Some of the abs exercises needed to be worked up to and I was just patient with myself and let myself rest when I needed to. Now I've noticed that even if I haven't done the exercises for about two weeks... it's easy to get back into them without any pain. It seems that this really has conditioned by muscles. It's my most difficult area to keep in shape and this tape does it!

i borrowed this tape from someone and was impressed enough to order a copy for myself. this is a more beginner-friendly pilates-type workout. the sets are shorter than some of the other pilates tapes, the tape is filmed in a beautiful studio with live drummers. nice change from all the bad 80's style music in so many tapes. a good workout any time, but i prefer to do this one at night. the more variety in your abdominal workout, the better results you will get. this is a nice addition to my daily workout.

I am a new mom and have a hard time getting off to the gym so I have invested in workout tapes.I have tried about four others and than recently I got this as a christmas gift and popped it in.I immediately liked that it moved fast. The point is, is that you don't do the same excercise 20 times and than move on - you do it a couple and than move on -BECAUSE IT WORKS SO WELL -IT WILL TONE YOU AND WORK OUT THAT AREA - instead of unneeded repetition. You get a workout everywhere.the next day I was the most sore I have ever been, and I thought the workout was easy.I have done the tape two more times - and I am excited beforehand! I DON'T HAVE TO NAG / MOTIVATE MYSELF TO DO IT. :) I highly recommend this to anyone - I have NEVER done pilates or ballet and this was a little hard, but easier each time you do it!

Belly dancers are known for their ability to isolate and move one body part at a time. This video helps you tone arms and abs by learning isolations that target just those muscles. The arm routine uses smooth, flowing movements that complement the accompanying hip moves. Special motions of the wrists and fingers make the moves look dramatic and fluid, sometimes snakelike. Meanwhile, you're working your abdominals by lifting, shifting, and circling your ribcage. This video, more than the others in this series, makes you feel and look like a belly dancer. Bellydance Fitness Arms and Abs is designed to tone your upper body using bellydance-inspired movements. In the first half of the workout, you will do a variety of arm movements, most of which require you to hold the arms at shoulder level or above. Although the voiceover instruction suggests that these moves will tone your biceps and triceps, I felt them mostly in my shoulders, which quickly became fatigued. Eventually, you move on to working the chest and ribs, mainly through isolation movements. The final ten minutes of this workout are performed on the floor. You'll start with several non-traditional abs exercises--eg, leg lifts while propped on your elbows--and then you'll work on more traditional crunches. The workout finishes with several yoga-inspired stretches, and the total time comes in at about 28 minutes.

I barely made it through the warm-up, so I know this one is good.My arms and abs are probably the weakest parts of my body, so I was drawn to this video by its title.Veena and Neena aren't nearly as annoying as some exercise video instructors, and they make it all look so effortless.I'll definitely be working out to this video for a while, until I can make it through the whole thing.Fun and a great workout, which is what I've been looking for.After this I'll buy anything Veena and Neena put out.

I have used this tape a few weeks now, twice a week, and it still isn't easy to do. My arms and shoulders feel worked! I really like how this series of exercises works all three aspects of the deltoids, as well as the upper back, chest and arms. I'm getting ready for summer, none too soon. I'm sure this series will get me there. (I especially like the legs workout in this series as well.)

I love Tamilee. She knows her stuff and keeps you motivated. I have all 3 I want those ABS, Arms and buns. I would have purchsed I want that Body but already had the seperate tapes. They are all great.I just wish there was a little more for the Triceps. My fatest part of my arm. I also enjoy the Firm workouts as well as Denise Austins Pilates and Blast 10 lbs. Tamilee's workouts can be as intense as you make them. Increase your weights! You can always pick up lighter ones if it gets to hard. These workouts target the area and really give it a workout.

This strength workout for your arms is challenging for beginners through advanced.(obviously by increasing the amount of weights your use).I like it b/c its concise and down to business.There is no "dancy" moves or too long of a warm up.I really recommend this workout to anyone. I hope she comes out with an "I want those legs!".....her ab video is also VERY good.and challenging!Do it for about 3-4 weeks then switch it up with other workouts so you don't hit a plateau.you can always increase the weights as well!Go for it!you will FEEL it.:) ... This is a great workout for the upper body.Tamilee Webb really gives a good routine for the upper body and abdominals.She alternates arm workouts and ab workouts.She does a few minutes of arms then a few minutes of abdominals.Tamilee uses a pair of three pound dumbells for the arm exercises.I like to use heavier dumbells for the arm exercises.She also uses a chair for the workout to sit in while doing the arms.She also uses the chair for my favorite part of the video.She does a supper set of tricep dips on the chair.First does a set using both arms,then she gives you a chance to do one arm tricep dips.It is really effective.The abdominal work is all done on the floor.Tamilee really knows what to do for the abs.It is really effective abdominal crunches.It you are a big fan of Tamilee Webb`s Abs of Steel videos.You will also be a fan of this one.

I had a few problems with this video.First of all, the appearance is very dated looking, especially given that Tamilee wears a visor throughout the workout.The set is very plain, and the production quality is poor.With respect to the exercises themselves, I'm concerned that some of the moves she does for abs may be bad for the neck.In Tamilee's more recent videos, she has eliminated these exercises, so I wonder if they are no longer recommended.The arms workout is good but consists of mostly traditional moves, although Tamilee does add a few twists such as doing a set of bicep curls coming only halfway up instead of a full curl.5-0 out of 5 stars Arms & Abs is excellent!
I used to do lots of traditional push-ups and sit ups to keep in shape for Military Physical Fitness tests.I now alternate between Arms & Abs and Arms & Abs 2.I have worked up to using fairly heavy weights (dumbells) between 15 & 40 lbs.Physical Fitness tests are no problem.An overall great workout that with the occasional fast forward, allows you to keep up your heart rate for the additional cardio-vascular benefit. ... This workout, led by Leisa Hart is 40 minutes of upper body and ab work.It is very complete in hitting all the muscles and Leisa provides excellent instruction and form pointers.All you need are a set of dumbells, Leisa used 3 lbs, I used a set of 5 and 8 lbs.

This video is now 10 years old (released in 1994), yet it still provides an excellent upper body workout.It begins with a 6-minute warm-up which consists of fairly simple, slightly dancey-type moves.Next comes 6 minutes of standing upper body toning, which includes many standard exercises such as lat rows, overhead press, french press, and upright rows.The next 8 minutes are performed in a kneeling position, and each move is executed on one side of the body at a time for greater concentration on the muscles.This section includes concentration curls, lat rows, and tricep kick-backs which alternate with two sets of push-ups.

Her instruction may be very good but this was filmed in the early 1990's. I ordered this video under the impression it was filmed within the past few years (release date: 2002). However, the packaging of the video box was simply updated.I also didn't realize that I would need a step or bench to complete the workout. Just know what you are ordering!

Since starting the Karen Voight tapes, (This in combination with Lean Legs and Buns) I have lost a total of 20 pounds.Not only have I gone from a size 10-12 to a 4-6, my body is in excellent condition.My body does'nt feel skinny, but toned and strengthened.I dont ususally write reviews, but felt I had to for this one.The workouts start easy and intensify, making it easy to start and increase with your stamina.Good job Karen.

I met Cory Everson YEARS ago when she was competing and appearing at body building shows and competitions.So, it was ironic 15+ years later to read out her videos that I knew nothing about (but wished I had before now).I did purchase this based upon an Amazon list and have really enjoyed this workout!I think Cory does a fantastic job in guiding the viewer through a quality arms and shoulders workout.I am a long time workout fanatic, but after finishing this video even I marvel at how "pumped up" my arms and shoulders are.Yes, it's corny with the thongs, big hair and dated earrings, but the workout is quality and stands the test of time.If you can get your hands on this video, do, it is well worth your time and effort!

I just received my 2nd copy of this video, my VCR ate the first one. It is a great video, parts of it are a little cheesy but it is well worth the money. There are 3 sets of 12 reps per exercise, you work shoulders first, starting with the muscle building exercise, overhead press, then you go on to front raises, rear delt raises, and lateral raises which Cory calls toning & shaping exercises. She repeats this pattern for all the muscle groups. Then it's on to biceps, the first being 3 sets of normal bicep curls with palms out, then 1 arm concentration curls, then hammer curls. You repeat the concentration curls 2 more times, but for the last exercise in the "tri-set" instead of hammer curls, you do normal bicep curls and bicep curls where you turn you arm in at the top. After biceps she work the forearms, forearm curls, wrist curls, and reverse wrist curls. I usually skip these and insert a few chest & back exercises which are not included in this workout. Lastly, it is triceps, you do lying tricep extensions first, then french press, kickbacks and the last exercise is lying close grip bench press which really works your triceps. There is also a brief warmup and cooldown.

I've bought a few of Cory Everson's videos recently, this being one of them and I have to say that I was somewhat disappointed in this video as I found Cory doing her reps too quick for me to follow (actually this is my glitch with her in most of her videos) and I end up having to pause the tape so I can catch up with her.Read more

I went through 15 minutes of this exercise and just turned it off. The intructors work at such a pace that you end up just standing there wondering what they are talking about. It is just choppy and doesn't flow very well. Perhaps if I were a step-aerobic master I would appreciate it more, but probably not.There are many beter work outs than this one. I recommend those.

Tamilee is great but I did not get the feel from the other two instructors.Its a good workout. Not the best. Its a little confusing with the cardio/step then muscle toning then cardio then muscle. You have to workout, stop pick up weights and back and forth.I do not have strong feelings about this one but I have only tried it once so far.

I had this video, and got rid of it. I counted the reps, and many times there were only 6! This video would have been a keeper for me, if the arms were challenging. I spent most of my time trying to follow the combination of exercises and most times I did not get them.And the routintes change very fast.Unless you are really quick at picking up routines, this video will most likely frustrate you.The ab workout at the end was pretty decent.

My wife gave me this video, along with weights at my request as a birthday present 9 years ago and I'm still using them today. The video is easy to follow from the beginning and is perfect for someone just starting out.As you progress in fitness levels, you decide the amount of weight to use for each exercise.The results are worth the 45 minutes spent three times a week.You feel more confident and the results are noticeable.There is no other video workout for men like this on the market that I have found.I highly recommend it to any man wanting to strengthen his upper body without investing a fortune.

This is one of those workouts in the " ...of Steel" series, but this one is directed to men, unlike most of them. The instructor, Gilad, has a pleasant accent and really knows his stuff. In about 45 minutes he takes you through a good warmup, the gamut of upper-body exercises, and a surprisingly long stretch. All the exercises are concise and are super-set (you don't rest between them except to exchange weights). Between the bicepts, tricepts, forearms, chest, shoulders, and back, this workout will build all facets of your arms. Best of all, you can suit the weights you use to your fitness level. This video is motivating and rewarding and, while I would not want to do it daily, it is a good break for me to do once a week or so (I am a woman).

This video doesn't give the burn for the abs and arms like other videos.The instructor does more of a routine instead repeition of exercises therefore making it ineffective.The only part that I got a good workout was the arm floor exercise even then you have to be careful not to drop the weights on your head (smiles).I'm sure there are better abs and arms workout on the market.

I've seen alot better videos out there.The moving the legs and arms were not effective exercises and the abs section is not challenging. I'd skip, this is the worse review I've ever done.

PROS:Does 2x15 reps of a variety of exercises in a short amount of time. All of the exercises can be done sitting if you have bad knees, etc.The instructors are motivating.The routine is theoretically effective for toning major muscles, however, overall I do NOT recommend this video for the following reasons...

This video is a great arm workout.There is a short warm up and stretchbefore you jump right into the chest exercises (you will need a step to dothe incline and flat chest flys).Then the video moves on to shoulderswith plenty of exercises to make them burn.The last part of the videoconcentrates on triceps and biceps with a little forearm work.The 2instructors are very encouraging and move very quickly from one exercise tothe next, but they do take some time to do a couple quick streches inbetween sets.The actual workout is alittle over 20 minutes, and yourmuscles will definitely burn when you are done !! ... I've loved this video from the first time I did it. When it got easier to do I added leg and ankle weights.I especially love the abs part of the video.

This is my favorite toning tape.It starts off with the warm-up, not too intense and easy to follow with several reps.Then the toning begins.Wow, I really felt the burn!While doing the hip exercises, I really felt it in my legs. As it gets tougher, Gilad says "You've gotta really want this". ... and you really do because it gets tough; not so tough that you can't complete them but I found myself gritting my teeth during the final reps.The arms exercises are the best I have found on any tape, as in the hips exercises, he works you until your arms burn... again the same for the abs.I had abdominal surgery 18 months ago and my stomach still hurt me whenever I sneezed or coughed heavily; these exercises, after continual use, helped me get back to normal.I can't say enough about this tape, Gilad is a great instructor, and I think he is cute.For the reviewer that said not intense enough for her/him, all I can say is that he/she must be in extremely excellent shape to not feel the results. ... I don't consider myself to be uncoordinated and I actually taught aerobics (admittedly it was 15 yrs ago) so I thought I would be able to follow along without much problem.I was just lost!The steps and moves are complicated and she does them for such a short period of time that you never really get the hang of them before she's adding something else to it.I was very disappointed because Donna is fun and energetic and I really wanted to be able to do it with her.The arm and ab work is good and I enjoyed that - but I'd say you need to be very familiar with aerobics moves if you're going to be able to follow along in that segment.

In the beginning you will be greeted by 3 people. The instructor and 2 others working out with him. 1 is a female and is for beginners (she doesn't have weights). And the second person is a guy and he is for those who have worked out before (he uses weights). The instructor (who is using 2 cans of food not weights) tells you what to do and the name of the movement. The screen shows you the name of the movements and how many minutes and seconds you have left. The left side of the screen has how many minutes you have left (it counts backwards) and on the right side of the screen it shows how many seconds you have left till you finish each movement. This is a straight and to the point workout. There are different movements for your arms, back, chest and shoulders. I needed this because I am trying to get my upper body back into shape. I was surprised, this workout was quick, fast and to the point. There was no breaks, warm ups or a chanceto stop. It's good to do a five minute warm up and stretch your arms and back before going in. Be sure to breathe and have some water handy. In the end...I can actually say I had fun. For a workout that came out so long ago, It didn't seem like it. I would recommend this. A+

A couple months ago I got the "8 Minute Abs" video and it totally rocked my world.It was just incredible to get rid of my gut, and all it really took was the commitment to do the darn tape every day, no matter what.I gave myself that like a present for my 38th birthday.And after just a couple months my old lady was so turned on and hot for me again that we started doing this "New Sex Now" and "Goddess Worship" sex stuff off some videos, and it was just radical! My old lady was just so diggin' me, and I was lovin' life!So I said hey, why not get my arms all rockin' cut too?And I got this tape and, for Valentine's day I'm gonna get a red rose tatood on my tricep and give her that instead of a dozen long-stems!Ha!

8 Minute Arms is exactly that: 8 minutes of arm exercises with very, very little breaks in between.This is an excellent tape to add to your collection for the days that you really don't feel like working out (but would feel even worse if you don't) or for the days that you want to go easy and just have to do have do a little something.Read more
