Editorial Review

High school entrance exams are approaching, and Serena and her friends Amy, Raye, Lita, and Mina (Usagi, Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako in Japanese) need to study--especially Serena, whose grades have never been good. But Serena is easily distracted. When Haruka appears on the scene, she and the other Scouts immediately fall for him--only to discover "he" is a girl who often dresses as a boy. Haruka is almost always seen with Michiru, but there's nothing to the relationship. Serena is also busy leading the Sailor Scouts into the battle. These powerful, aloof warriors are searching the world for three mysterious and potent talismans. The combined power of Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Moon produces the redoubtable weapon, the "Spiral Heart Moon Rod." Many fans rank the Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not the same Sailor Moon I knew

5-0 out of 5 stars Moon Cosmic Power Makeup
Okay let me just tell you this.......this dvd rocks. It is the ultimate intro to the Sailor Moon S world. You meet the freaky Proffessor Tomoe and the equally messed up Kaori Knight not to mention their servents. You also meet Michiru/Michelle Kaioh-an elegent violinest and Haruka/Amara Tenoh-a skilled racer. However The witches 5,Hotaru,or Chibi-Usa do not appear YET!Anyways this video is really cool it got me inpsired to like the S series again and to also RENT more S videos/dvds.Before I sign off though don't let me renting the video make you think it is not good enough to buy......It DEFINETLY is.....DEFINETLY!!!!
4-0 out of 5 stars The Beginning of 'S'
This is the edited first volume of the third season, S. This season was dubbed by a different company, so many of the voices from the first two seasons have been replaced. Serena's new voice is the only one that is tough to deal with. The actress tries too hard to imitate the previous voice, but she does improve a great deal as the episodes go on. Luckily, Lita & Raye's voice actors return, making the transition easier. Many people will complain about the edited version, but aside from one or two examples, you're not really missing anything.

Editorial Review

True to its Sega video-game roots, this futuristic 60-minute movieincludes a lot of yelling, crashing, and exploding on the way to saving the world. Sonic and his sidekicks are determined to thwart a plan that wouldturn their Land of the Sky into the equivalent of The Land of Darkness, whichlurks beneath the surface (and is obviously the former planet Earth). So theyplow through to the center of the planet and the ancient city of Robotropolis(the former New York City?) to do righteous battle. The big question of the day is whether the usually evil Dr. Robotnik is telling the truth for once orsending the good guys into a trap. The tape's producers suggest viewers be atleast 7 years old because of its violence, but the rudimentary nature ofthe animation will probably make it appealing only to hard-core action fans among the older-kid crowd. 5-0 out of 5 stars reviewwxD
I'm 10 and although I found it extremely funny, I didn't like the voices. Why was Knuckles wearing the hat anyway? xD But still, my favourite part was when Tail's bodyboard went wrong; it was funny hearing him completely scared while Sonic doesn't even think he's in trouble. Oh yeah, and the owl talking to a flower instead of sonic, lol. Definately worth watching!
5-0 out of 5 stars Funny movie, really glad i watched it instead of being a jackass dork in the streets
this movie is one of the funnist movies ive seen ,they animated this movie in 1997 japenese version, well Sega of America felt pretty low of not making a dub for the english speakers, but in 1999 the british ADV films redubbed the whole movie into english, thanks to them nobody in the english speaking world would watch the movie, heck i really enjoy watching this,BTW this has scenes that include perverted scenes, this movie is way better than the crappy Sonic X atleast the movie has good values,HERES MY LAST ADVICE,GET IT NOW!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Hmmm....excellent.. execpt one problem...
VOICES! Voices aew very OVERRATED AND TERRIBLE! The Jap one is better!

I really enjoy most of Miyazaki's work; especially "Spirited Away" and "My Neighbor Totoro".I had very high expectations of this, given it's popularity. For whatever reason, it didn't do it for me.
5-0 out of 5 stars MY FAVORITE!
This one was my FAVORITE!It's a cute, "lighter" story. The animation is INCREDIBLE!I love the little girl in this and her cat is SO CUTE!There are so many adorable details to look at.I think this is a wonderful story, especially for girls. The voices are so cute sounding. And again, the details are just AMAZING to look at.Great movie to start with!:-)

1-0 out of 5 stars YIKES!
Sometimes, anime is just bad. It doesn't happen often, but nobody can bat a thousand every time. "Suikoden" suffers not only from your standard anime cliches (which I can deal with), but also a DECIDED lack of story and characterization that I'd never expect from an anime. The dubbing is pretty horrible, both the voices and the delivery (or lack thereof). Maybe it's my fault for renting the dub (that's all my local Blockbuster had), but I doubt even the original Japanese language version was THAT much better.5-0 out of 5 stars Comedy, martial arts, guns, and explosions
The setting for this brief but extremely entertaining anime is the over-used future vision of the metropolis of Tokyo being crime plagued and controlled by ruthless gangs. The most prominent of these gangs is the Koryukai Criminal Organization. The plot surrounds a Chinese legend about 108 fallen warriors being reborn to fight the forces of darkness once again, but focuses on six of them.5-0 out of 5 stars Tight Movie
It was an Tight movie and since i got it i keep watching it over the legand of Suikoden always interested me and i think its cool they made a animie out of it. The plot development was great and its action sequencesrocked only thing it need is a sequal. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Decked out in stone gray with a scowling jade-green war face, the 60-foot statue come to life, Majin, is one of the most impressive of giant Japanese monster movie threats, an irresistible force relentlessly driving ahead with the thundering echoes of his earthshaking steps. This unusual mix of the fantasy and samurai genres put Daiei into the rampaging monster business in 1966 with not one but three monumental adventures set in the feudal past. In the first of the trilogy, this massive statue rising up out of the mountains contains the trapped spirit of a destructive god, or so goes the legend. An ambitious chamberlain plays on the peasants' fears to overthrow the peaceful lord and enforces an iron fist on his nation, but 10 years later he sends his soldiers to destroy the stone monolith. When Majin is finally roused by prayer and righteous anger it proves to be an impressive figure, leaving the chamberlain's massive fort splinters and rubble in its wake while relentlessly hunting down the villain to deliver his poetic justice. Director Kimiyoshi Yasuda brings a stoic seriousness to these scenes, never once allowing them to slip into camp. If only his handling of the human drama was equally bold. The story of the royal heirs growing up in the shadow of Majin and planning their return to power is serviceable if conventional, but once Majin stirs at the 60-minute mark, the film roars to life for a destructive, ruthlessly satisfying conclusion. 5-0 out of 5 stars Daimajin Review
I remember seeing this on creature double feature as a kid and it was the english dubbed version.Being half japanese, I started collecting japanese movies and never thought I would see this one for sale but was glad to find it.I brought back memories. The title is fitting...although in truth, three separate words. Dai (large or great) Ma (all powerfull or powerfull beyond comprehension in essence although you assume whatever you are referring to to be evil) and Jin (refers to a person but is also used to refer to a deity).example americanjin (american person) The statue in this movie is supposed to have the spirit of an evil warrior god sealed within it. In the beginning, the just and kind ruler of the people is overthrown and killed by his ambitious chamberlain.5-0 out of 5 stars Daimajin
I remember this film from when I was a kid,it was thencalled"Majin,Monster of Terror"and it was dubbed, notsubtitled. The widescreen really makes all the difference I think and it isjust as great now as it ever was.Evil warlord takes over Japanese villageand its Majin to the rescue! But is Majin's destruction worth the price?

3-0 out of 5 stars The colossus of Japan.
Mixing elements of the jedai(samurai)film with elements of the kaiju(monster)film, Daimajin is a rousing adventure that is sure to appeal to fans of both types of films.Set in medievel Japan, the film followsthe story of a boy and his sister, who are pursued by the man who had theirfather murdered and then took over his kingdom.Watching all of this isthe giant statue of Majin, a powerful spirit that can be invoked to rightwrongs and punish evil-doers.The story moves along well, aided by goodperformances by all of the actors, though it is perhaps a bit slow atfirst.Once Daimajin("dai" meaning giant, "majin"meaning spirit) revives, all hell breaks loose on the evil Lord and hismen. The spfx are spectacular(immensely aided by the widescreenpresentation).Functioning like a pounding funeral drum is Akira Ifukube'smagnificent score, one of his best non-Godzilla works. This is a greatfilm that is thankfully no longer obscure. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Memories of the greatest anime ever
Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon brings back so many memories. When I was very young and Sailor Moon first came out, I found it by fate by flipping the channels. Back then no one else watched it and it was on at 6:00 in the morning. Many years later I reunited with it and then I ordered the Japanese episodes fansubbed. The Japanese episodes were amazing. Back then their was no official distributer, so I ordered from a fansubbed distributer. The Japanese version was so different from the American version. It was completely different. I love both versions though. The English version brings back memories from my childhood while the Japanese version is uncut. It's fun comparing the episodes and seeing how much was changed. This version, however, is the edited and changed. It cuts out many scenes and makes a lot of changes. While it has changed a lot from the original Japanese version, it's great for a trip down memory lane, and brings back my childhood memories. This volume has very important episodes. This volume has many romantic moments and Serena/Darien and Usagi/Mamoru are my favorite couple ever. Many events happen, and this volume is very important. Serena and Darien and Usagi and Mamoru are my favorite couple ever. The Japanese version is my favorite. I love Tuxedo Mask. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Awesome cartoon butchered to cater U.S. audience
I was 15 when I saw the Cobra TV series, back in 1987. The impression I got from this ultra-cool character lingers to this day. The stories were very imaginative, the settings amazing, the character made all his dangerous adventures look easy. Not to mention the rarity of that time of having a TV cartoon with nudity and a hero smoking cigars to breathe underwater!
2-0 out of 5 stars Not even close
This video/"movie" does this awesome character no justice. The story is all cramped up, and the dubbing (as is the case with most english language anime) is terrible.2-0 out of 5 stars The Series is Great. The Movie is Not.
Space Adventure Cobra started as a great manga and then an excellent TV Anime. This movie, unfortunately, represents the only mis-step in Buichi Terasawas' distinguished works of Cobra. In the manga, the story takes several installments to unfold; in the TV series, it takes five espisodes (180mins); but that same plot is cramped and rushed in this Anime length movie. The dubbing is terrible and the movie (sighs) looks dated in this millennium. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Pshaw.
Pokemon and Digimon are a close match, but I've always liked Digimon better. Digimon's characters are just more interesting:Ash and Tai are both stupid, but Tai is less so. Misty and Sora are both the 'group big sister,' but Misty whines more. The monsters are better, too- and they can talk, instead of repeat their own name like idiots. All in all, Digimon may have been less popular, but is, in my opinion, better by far.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not a Pokemon copy
I'd like to say that Digimon came before Pokemon in Japan, but Pokemon was brought across the sea first, so everyone seems to think Pokemon is the original on this side of the planet and in Japan, because nobody cared about Digimon much there either. I think that this is much better than Pokemon. The characters, all seven of them, are better thought out, the plot is better (not a continuous, never-ending journey, but a real save the world plot) and the Digimon can go to Champion and back and can actually TALK not that "Pika Pika" stuff. I respect (sorta) all your opinions, whether we agree or not.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Digimon Adventure Continues

4-0 out of 5 stars Barely remember this movie at all...
I remember seeing this movie on Toonami twice a long time ago.It was pretty good of what I remember. It was edited for TV.I'd only go out and hunt for this DVD if want every DVD cause you're a collector or something.FUNimation is coming out with a new DVD for this movie with the GOOD voice actors and the ORGINIAL japanese version. It comes out May 31, 2005.Get that one instead if you want to see it.I just wanted to say that.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good......Bad english dub though
This is a pretty good movie, with good action and story. However, the english dub brings down he quality.Goku's voice is AWFUL!I'm glad FUNimation changed the voices when they took it over, becuase almost all the voices are bad.Gohan's is really the only voice I liked. When the voices in this movie say lines, they sound really corny.i bet if FUNimation had done the voices for this, it wouldn't have sounded corny.I haven't watched the japenese version of this yet, but I already know the voices on it are better because I've seen other japenese DBZ, and it all has pretty good voices.

I watched this DVD and loved it! It was violent and funny! It was great! I watched both the English dub and Japanese version.5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent DVD, worth the buy
This is an excellent DVD in all respects save the cover. (The cover is incredibly stupid if you didn't notice. An irrelevent screen shot.) As the second TV season approaches it climax, Ash Ketcham has advanced to the Pokémon League Tournament at Indigo Stadium, the Pokémon Trainer's equivalent of Wimbeldon. Ash has to contend with the overconfidence and occasional thoughtlessness that have dogged him throughout the series. During his first matches, Misty and Brock coach from the sidelines--when Brock isn't too busy chasing every pretty girl in sight. Professor Oak offers additional advice from Pallet Town and sends Ash the exotic Pokémon he needs. Although the score seesaws back and forth, it's a forgone conclusion Ash will win each match; a bigger question is whether he can learn to become a gracious winner. Gary, Professor Oak's arrogant grandson, is defeated early in the Tournament, although a final duel between him and Ash remains inevitable. Team Rocket's comic villainy produces the usual disastrous results--until Jessie and James discover they're actually good at selling souvenirs and fast food; Meowth is appalled at the prospect of going straight. 4-0 out of 5 stars The Pokemon League at last...
After a decent wait, we finally get to see what die-hard Pokemon fans have been waiting to see for quite some time: the actual Pokemon League competition. These episodes vastly outshine the rather mediocre mid-series episodes from the period between the Saffron and Cinnabar gyms, but are also pretty good in their own right--lots of decent Pokemon battling, believable plot (for a change) with a good human story, and several at-least-somewhat-memorable new characters.
5-0 out of 5 stars I love pokemon
