A.D.V.'s first dub is still great mature sci-fi fun

Really Good
This is a good DVD it contains episodes "Come out Bijou" where the ham hams try to make Bijou ( a loved character) come out of her cage. " Diamonds of sugar" where the ham hams try to catch falling stars which they mistake for candies Laura and Kana have and " First time at the Beach" which is basically an adventure at the beach hope you like this DVD these are great episodes

This is another great DVD about Hamtaro's adventures. It is better than the first one, because all of the introductions are out of the way, so the real adventures can begin. A Great Buy! Banned (clean) Episode Ahoy!
I love pokemon, and have loved it for a long time. This does include the episode "Holiday Hi-Jynx" a banned episode. Actually, George was wrong on some things. The episode "The Ice Cave" and "Holiday Hi-Jynx" were banned for the same reason. I first noticed something strange when i looked at the back. If you notice, Jynx has a purple face, as she does in the latter of the pokemon games. However, in the cartoon, all of the Jynx have black faces. These episodes, though to contrary belief that "The Ice Cave" was banned due to the relativeness to SARS, were banned because like Mr. Popo from Dragonball Z, Jynx has a black face. "Blackface" is a racial disimination issue. You may want to search google on Jynx, Blackface, or Black Face, for more information on this. There were issues with this, which led to Nintendo and 4 Kids changing Jynx's face to purple. It also seems that George missed a few episodes. "Tentacool and Tentacruel" was also banned due to the destruction of large building, forcing some people to painfully recall 9-11. You can get "Holiday Hi-Jynx", and "Tentacool and Tencruel" on VHS. You will not see these episodes elsewhere. However, I don't think that we will ever see edited versions of "Dennou Shenshi Porigon" (Electric Soldier Porygon) or "The Legend of Dratini" even though those got English Dubs, Nintendo and 4 Kids say that they will not show them in the United States, or anywhere else, only in Electric Soldier Porygon's case. All we can do is wait and see what we have in store for us next, with Pokemon...

I guess it wasn't for me
I really enjoy most of Miyazaki's work; especially "Spirited Away" and "My Neighbor Totoro".I had very high expectations of this, given it's popularity.For whatever reason, it didn't do it for me.
MY FAVORITE!
This one was my FAVORITE!It's a cute, "lighter" story.The animation is INCREDIBLE!I love the little girl in this and her cat is SO CUTE!There are so many adorable details to look at.I think this is a wonderful story, especially for girls.The voices are so cute sounding.And again, the details are just AMAZING to look at.Great movie to start with!:-)

Should have never been made
Boy oh boy, this is quite a deceiving title.Mewtwo Returns would imply to most fans a revenge type story pitting Mewtwo once again as the antagonistic aggressor.Such a plot probably would've made for quite an enthralling sequel to the original.Conversely, this one runs off in the opposite direction, one which places the once invincible Mewtwo in a helpless position, as it attempts to resume a (since the end of Mewtwo Strikes Back) peaceful lifestyle with its clone buddies.The evil doer in Mewtwo Returns happens to be Giovanni, the malicious, and cruel leader of Team Rocket.
It's Pretty Cool
It's Pretty Cool. It's Way Better Then The First One. I Seen It Before In The Movie Theater With Some Of My Friends. And I Was Just Blown Away By It. (and between you and me i think that Giovanni Reminds me so much of Alistar Crane from the daytime soap oprea "Passions" (the soap oprea not the moive that Mel Gibson Derectied) let's just say it's our little secret ok). So I Would Like Everyone To Buy This Movie. It's Truly A Must Have For Any Die Hard Pokemon Fan.

My favorite of the Pokemon movies.
Even though Suicune is a favorite pokemon of mine, 'Pokemon 4ever' just wasn't quite good enough overall to be my favorite movie. The third film contained a memorable song by Innosense, but again, one song wasn't enough. And Pokemon 2000 included some good Team Rocket content. But the best pokemon movie, in my opinion, is 'Mewtwo Returns.' The story is still rather basic, with Giovanni being the main villain and Ash & company being the heroes, along with Mewtwo and all the other pokemon, genetically enhanced clones or not. Yet there are some very poignant messages brought forth by the movie, and the animation is quite nice, not appearing to have been tossed together quickly without care. This movie might have been a direct-to-video job, but it was a great one.

Historic documentary for women's body building enthusiasts
In any athletic field, the most watched female athletes are those who have a distinct physical presence.Just being good at your sport may allow you to win medals but you won't get much popular or media attention.This historic documentary highlights why this became a huge issue back in the 1980s when women's bodybuilding just started to take off.Rachel McLish was considered the favourite for the Caesars Palace World Cup Championship.She was very toned, lightly muscled and considered very attractive by most people.Bev Francis was an Australian powerlifting champion who shocked people wherever she went because she was so muscular.Everybody agreed that she had bigger muscles than anybody else but where there was disagreement was whether it was "aesthetic" for a women to be that heavily muscled.Bev comes across as very honest, dedicated, outspoken and caring, something you would expect when you see her.Lori Bowen was a Rachel McLish fan, so much so that she actually looked a lot like her.She and her boyfriend (who is a go-go dancer) dream that she will win big.She is from an economically depressed background and you get the feeling she has struggled for whatevr she got. Carla Dunlap is very well muscled, although not as big as Bev.She comes across as a very intelligent, outspoken woman, the type you would see in a unversity classroom arguing with her professor about an issue in metaphysics.I won't tell you who wins because that would spoil the movie but let me tell you why I gave it 3 stars.It explores the issue of sexualizing women in the sport of bodybuilding and at the same time tries to educate the viewer about the sport.Although it does fairly well at both tasks, the two different lens that are applied tend to make the final product less effective.Is it about women and their objectification in bodybuilding - something that continues today ?Or is it just a story of the competitors ?Or does it try to educate viewers about bodybuilding as a sport for women.In the end although you would have learned a little about each part, you are not quite sure.

Truely inspirational!
I was so enraged at the sexism displayed by the judges and some of the other girls in this film I immediatley afterward went to the gym and hit the weights extra heavy with extra reps. Wonderful
I love dragonball z. This is grat and if you are a fan you should buy it.

The start of another filler portion
This tape starts the filler episodes in which the Z fighters have ten days to prepare for the Cell Games. The Greatest Episodes ever!
I think that these episodes are the best because even though there isn't any fighting in it, without these episodes you wouldn't understand what was going on. I think the best bits are when you see Goku and Gohan in the hyperbolic time chamber training to defeat Cell because when you see Gohan in his Supersaiyan form and with his hair cut there is no other word for him but COOL. I don't like the bits when they put in too much detail e.g. the episode 'A girl called Lime'. I tell you what really annoys me as well ? It's that Hercule guy. He just wants to make me puke. I mean does he realise the true power of Cell? If I did I would run a mile! Ummmm.....WHat?
This video is ...okay.Basically- Goten fights baby,Goten on date,Chichi freaking out,Trunks,Pan,&Goku looking for dragonballs,Baby finds Vegeta-yadayadayada.to tell the truth i only watch it to see Trunks! the only light in the series!The plot messes with my head!The action is nothing compared to DragonBall Z.Oh,and i hate Pan! shes supposed to be 16 but has the voice(and appearance) of a 9 year old.So overrall,1 star for comedy,2 stars for Trunks.

what a rip!!
i have the old VHS copies of this and it has japanese language with subtitles. the dubbed voices on this DVD are CRAP!!!
A dissapointment to Go Nagai
When I first found out the Devilman was going to be released on DVD, I jumped at the opportunity to purchase it.To my dissapointment(and DISGUST)I realized that the disc did *NOT* offer the original Japanese Language. I am an anime "purist" and I used to watch the original Jap. Lang and read the scripts for translation so I *THOUGHT* the disc would have the subtitles. But instead I am *forced* to watch a great anime film with sub-par voice acting which totally killed the emotional content of this anime for me. Parts I thought were dramatic and serious, are now comical and humorous.So very sad. Im going to get rid of mine immediately and buy the Japanese only edition (no eng. subtitles - I still have my scripts)
Awesome anime from Go Nagai--not for kids ya'll
Okay, if you're looking for something light and fluffy your kids can watch, this is not it!! If you don't get it by the kid friendly title of "Devilman" and menacing demon on the cover, then go ahead and by all means show it to the grandparents as well! For those of you like me who listen to very heavy music at volumes loud enough to shake the walls, love Dario Argento movies, and don't mind seeing loads of blood and gore, then this might be the anime for you. Yes, the dubbing isn't great, but that's not the point. The story itself is very interesting. Akira Fudo is an average student. When his friend, Ryo takes him to his house, and shows him a mask that allows him to see into the demon world, Akira is rightly freaked out (he wets himself okay). Ryo then tells him that unless they both merge with demons, that they will never be strong enough to defeat the demons who killed Ryo's father. They really don't have a choice, it's either merge and become a demon or die. And they really don't have a choice about which demon they merge with (as Ryo puts it, if they don't get one that is strong enough to defeat the others, then they will die anyway). Akira merges with Amon, an incredibly powerful demon, and becomes Devilman. Akira does not lose his humanity, but is able to control the demon to some extent. Nagumo, tell me it was just a bad dream.
This is the perfect example of an animated series that begins with 100% full force, but somehow forgets its footing, its actual roots, or plain disregards the foundation it was built and quickly destroys from within.I began watching "Legend of the Overfiend" with some hesitancy.I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into, but I knew that it was going to be both violent and sexual.Boy, I wasn't wrong, but what made this first film stand above was the story itself."Legend of the Overfiend" may have quite a bit of rape, violence, and nudity, but the science-fiction story behind these actions is incredible.It reminded me of the first time that I watched the film Ghost in the Shell, it broke some boundaries, but the story was incredible.Sadly, that is what hurt the other three films.While I was watching these series, I made a note, if I could take the sex, nudity, and rape, put it all to the side, and still enjoy the story, then the animators and storytellers were doing a great job.With "Legend of the Overfiend" I was successful."Legend of the Demon Womb" was slim, and it failed with "Return of the Overfiend".By the last of this series, the animators had grown too big for their britches, the story was completely destroyed, and our familiar faces seemed like strangers by the end.Everything that you never wanted to see happen to a series happened with Ch�jin densetsu Urotsukid�ji.
Pure craziness
This is something that most people should not see, personally I can tolerate alot of things but this stuff will give some people nightmares for a month!Not for everyone, but if you like really wild anime and not much bugs you, go for it.

Marvellous!
This is the best volume of Return of the Overfiend. It contains the real finale to the film with none of the pointless boredom and babble of episode 4. This has brilliant action, as well as the sexiest scene in all manga.The animation is more lifelike than movies 1 and 2 and some very sickartists made Megumi's breasts bounce very convincingly.Plus, many of the voiceactresses seem desperately brilliant. another amazing anime
This seems to be Miyazake's most personal work, clearly a serious design. It is set in an imaginary time which blends the time of the ancient gods (Shinto style, gods of place and nature) with the settlement of humans and the coming of metalworking and war. The world is not in balance, and a distant conflict between industry and nature has wounded one of the gods of the forest, which is then killed by a sentry boy as it rampages into farmland he guards. The evil controlling it transfers to him, beginning a slow takeover, and he must journey to the origin of the conflict to find a way to cure himself and incidentally, as he will learn, to try to restore balance. But this is not a simplistic tale, he finds there are other characters in play, and there is good and evil in everyone, and no easy balance. The Princess (Hime) of the story is a mysterious human who has been raised by wolves (which are themselves powerful forest gods, a little reminiscent of the Amerindian Coyote myth), who becomes both his ally and his enemy. The story is not easy to understand. It has many Japanese mythic elements but even then, it is a work of Miyazake's unique imagination, and is not intended to be simple or to have a clean resolution.

I have seen Princess Mononoke on T.V., and it rocks! It's just awesome like all the other movies that japanese guy makes.

Great video
My daughter and I loved this video.I am always baffled when parents get upset that this video "suggests" to their innocent children that Santa Claus might not be real.This concept is ubiquitous - havn't your kids ever seen a version of "A Christmas Story"?Santa Claus is not real, and why is it so important to you to perpetuate a falsehood as long as possible?Also, why would one reader immediately blame the country of Japan.This demonstrates extreme ethnocentricity, provinciality and ignorance.This DVD could have been made anywhere.One reader blamed Japan for trying to destroy thousands of american Christians [mis]beliefs.Santa was invented by the Coca-Cola Company.To think that it has a religious foundation at all is ignorant and degrades your religion.Anyway, it was a great video.

WARNING- DO NOT BUY, RENT,VIEW OR GIVE THIS...
tape to anyone where it may be viewed by innocent little children who still believe in the magic of Santa Claus. We just made the HUGE mistake of showing this tape to our 2,4,6, and 8 year olds. We are so careful about the videos and TV shows that our children watch, but who would have thought that we would have had to screen this entire tape for content before showing it to our little ones. Not only does it have a scene where school children are poking fun at Kitty for believing in Santa Claus, it then puts the idea in the children's heads that Mommy and Daddy just buy all of the Christmas presents when Kitty confronts her parents. At this point in the video, we couldn't even turn it off and leave this idea hanging, we desparately hoped that the video will work itself out. Then there was a scene where Kitty catches her Dad dressed up like Santa, leaving them presents, and his diguise gets uncovered when his hat blows off. He then confesses to his children, " Well I think your old enough now for me to tell you that there is no such thing as Santa." Sort of justifying the parental deception (believe me, it is worse than I described). I have got to beleive that every person that had anything to do with the creation, production and distribution of this video are TOTAL MORONS. Our daughter has alot of "Hello Kitty"products, I will NEVER purchase another thing from this company again. It almost seems that the Japanese firm that produces Hello Kitty sadistically put this video tape out knowing that it could destroy the belief in Santa Claus to thousands of American children. Because other than that, I can't possibly justify the stupidity of the people that work for this company. I apologize for being so negative, but I feel I have to warn other parents. The only thing I regret about this review is that you can't rate it lower than 1 star.

I COULD HAVE DIED!!!
I couldn't believe this video wasn't properly summarized on the back for parents of preschoolers!!!When I started to watch this with my girls I almost fainted when the concept of 'Santa's not real' came up-My girls hadn't even considered he wasn't real.It sort of ends up ok- but there is some lying on the parents part that is introduced. This IS Tight
I really like this video. It's when Master Roshi gives goku the flying Nibus and a dragon ball. And after that, they meet a pig named Ulong who can change intp different types of creatures.

Awesome stuff...
Once again, Akira Toriyama's "Dragon Ball" sparkles with these two other episodes.The storyline is great, and Goku's naive actions are unpredictable.This video is great, creating plenty of humour that couldmake just anybody crack up.

Goku First meets Master Roshi
Its cool watching Goku first meet Master Roshi.Goku finds Master Roshi's turtle, so, Master Roshi rewards Goku with the Flying Nimbus.But, you can only ride the flying nimbus if you have a pure honest heart.Master Roshifalls through ( he he, I wonder why) and Goku jumps right on and rides itlike he has had it forever.Bulma wants something too, so, Master Roshigives her his dragon ball around his neck.I think this is a god video towatch and is good for all ages.I give it 4 out of 5 because its cool. ...
