5-0 out of 5 stars All Original and Complete Recordings
All in all, I love it!All the songs advertised on this tape are the original, complete recordings that I have grown to love -- not remakes. It also has a few classical Kermit the Frog Sesame Street segments (for example, the little girl he's with sings "ABCDEF Cookie Monster!") -- though there are just bits and pieces of the Sesame Street News skits. My favorite song on this tape is "Bein' Green".I bought mine at amazon.com a couple of years ago, but not until today did I open it and play it -- I was just too nervous. If you can get this tape -- go for it!A MUST for any serious Sesame Street fan!

5-0 out of 5 stars this is so great!
This is so much fun!My 9-month-old daughter only shows limited interest in the video, but I love it!The songs are awesome -- Caribbean Amphibean absolutely rocks!I can't help smiling every time I hear it.'I love my elbows' is just too cute. And the skit about selling weather is hysterical.Treat yourself to this!

3-0 out of 5 stars Too much pigs - notenough Kermit
Because I'm such a huge fan of Kermit on Sesame Street, I'd buy this video again if I had to.That being said, it's somewhat disappointing.I was hoping to share Muppet News Flashes with my little boy, but the brief montage is just confusing for someone who's never seen them.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A THANKSGIVING TRADITION
It's been a number of years since I've seen Mouse on the Mayflower but it was always a favorite when I was a kid. This was made by Rankin & Bass in 1968,who were at the height of their creative genius in the 60's, most known for Classic Christmas tales like Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. This story tells the story of the voyage of the Pilgrims to America, but told from the perspective of mice who also make the perilous journey. It's narrated by Tennessee Ernie Ford as we learn of the harsh journey over the Atlantic before the Pilgrims make it safely to the new world and are greeted by Indians and start their new lives.Besides Ford the voice cast also includes Eddie Albert of Green Acres fame as Captain Standish.
5-0 out of 5 stars A must see for all ages
The Mouse on the Mayflower is a must see for all ages in my opinion. While I don't remember ever seeing this wonderful movie on TV when I was a child, I learned of it as an adult when my children were small.Since there are so few movies about Thanksgiving I purchased this on VHS and my children loved it.Since then I have worn out two tapes and my third is getting "grainy".I teach second grade and every year recommend to parents that they rent this from one of our local Video Rental stores. The content tells a fairly accurate story of the pilgrims in a way children will enjoy and remember. Having talking mice tell a story of historic value is just one way to teach children of their nation's heritage.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Entertainment
There are few Thanksgiving videos, but this one is top-notch. It portrays the real meaning of Thanksgiving and shows friendship overcoming ignorance.

Two episodes from the popular Nickelodeon Jr. show explore musicalthemes. In "Blue Wants to Play a Song Game," our intrepid Steveuncovers Blue's clues for what song she wants to play. Several nurseryrhyme songs are featured along with examples of music in nature. The lattertheme is explored further in "Music in a Everyday Way." Music is discovered in jars of water, sticks on the floor, and animal sounds. Even the thinkingchair becomes a musical instrument. The sound and rhyme matching willmake this video hold up to repeated plays quite well. Read more

This is another fun video from the early days of Blue's Clues.Blue leads Steve on a "clue hunt" and we learn a lot about instruments and music and rythms. This is a great way to introduce your toddlers to the concept of rythm.

Hearing-impaired (and Academy Award-winning) actress Marlee Matlin bookends two "Blue's Clues" episodes and gives the tape its theme by teaching Steve some American Sign Language. In the first story--in which Steve and friends attempt to ascertain where a certain blue dog would like to eat her snack--Steve teaches some signs and follows signs of another kind on poster boards. The written signs, of course, lead to the canine's clues, designated by her famous paw print. Blue Scadoo finds Steve jumping into Jane's book and meeting her deaf friend Carly, who tells a story in sign language. In the second episode, Steve tries to figure out where Blue wants to go by using a map the cunning dog has left behind. He eventually jumps into a Candyland-style game, finds Blue with the Gingerbread Girl, and winds up going to the library. Children ages 2 to 5 will enjoy and learn from this 51-minute video. 2-0 out of 5 stars Expected More Signing
My daughter is deaf and loves watching blue's clue, so I was some what disappointed with the limited signing. There was a small protion of consistent signing during story time, but that was a small segment.
4-0 out of 5 stars Delightful
When they say All Kinds of Signs. They mean all Kinds of Signs. My daycare kids love this video. It's really just induction to sign language as well as other signs such as street signs, bathroom sign etc. Blue's Clues - All Kinds of Signs is a cute helpful video just don't expect it to be a great sign language video.
4-0 out of 5 stars More on ASL for kids
This is an entertaining video. My son loves Blue's Clues...but not until he was about 2 yrs old.Earlier, he did not "get it" in terms of "finding a paw print". Another great Blue's episode that I am not sure is still out is "ABCs & 123s". At 25 months, I swear my son understands how READING works from this video! The counting part is really good too.My son tries to count everything! However, for those of you looking for more ASL sign language for kids, the BEST by far, are the series called Signing Times.website is www.signingtime.com There are six videos/DVDs in the series that increase in complication. The first one is "basic" signs like milk, eat, apple, more, etc.I started showing this to my son at 8 months and he was signing to ME from the highchair at 10 months. Then, I added the next volume(please, thank you, share, etc) to his viewing and so on.At 25 months, he knows over 50 signs and uses them. He sometimes can't make the sign exactly right with his hands...but,I know what he means to say and that is the goal (increased communication between you)!I must say, I've learned all the signs myself! Her style of teaching is entertaining and it sinks in! www.signingtime.com check it out. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A Very Special Movie
"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is quite simply a most magical filmmaking experience. It's a film that is truly brilliant in every way imaginable. From its plot, a brilliant homage to the great film noir thrillers of the 1940s', to the fantastic visuals, still impressive even today, to its smart, funny, fast paced script, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is a truly timeless piece of cinema.
5-0 out of 5 stars I love it .
This movie produce in year 1988 , it was very good movie then , but when I witch it ýagain now , I love it more and more than before . ý

5-0 out of 5 stars Four Oscars!
Well-deserved Oscars for Editing, Visual Effects, Sound Effects Editing, and Special Achievement (animation direction) recommend this delightful film, which combines live action and animation before CGI came into regular use.Watch for the beautifully realized details throughout. For example, the Toons have shadows, and when one is thrown against a venetian blind, it bends and makes the sound of somebody actually hitting a venetian blind. The interaction between live action and animation is so good, you quickly forget they're not really together at all -- and much of the credit for such realistic "interaction" must go to live actor Bob Hoskins. There are a load of extras in this 2-disc package, including both fullscreen and widescreen versions, audio commentary, a deleted scene, and a very interesting "before and after" split-screen comparison with and without animation. This is a technical masterpiece and well worth seeing again and again. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Stuff
I am 39 , and I grew up with SHR every Saturday Morning. There are some great ones on this tape, but If you are like me, you wanted more, so I go the DVD set. All in all, I would recommend the complete dvd set, but if you only want a good taste of SHR, then get this tape. You cant go wrong either way. Hey, its SHR.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Tricks Still Work
I bought this several years ago for my sister at Christmas, and heard it was fine. But just reading the list of videos that are on this tape, I see them flash right before my eyes. Therefore, I feel perfectly qualified to review this product for you.I don't quite know what I would have done without Schoolhouse Rock.Well, maybe not Grammar Rock, although those were some of my favorites ("Conjunction Junction, what's your function?").But I know that when I come up against a problem in my adult life that forces me to multiply an odd combination, like 13 and 7, I immediately go back to a skater telling me "Now here's a chance to brush up on your new math tricks, 'cause 8 times 12 is the same as 10 times 8 plus 2 times 8...80 plus 16, 96!"And when the MSM has me totally discombobulated about what's happening with the law that was supposed to be passed last year about the Hossenpfeffers not killing off the Bellywhackers, suddenly I find myself singing to myself "I'm just a bill, yes I'm only a bill..." and I remember the process. And how long it can take!(Now, you have to understand, teachers for babyboomers took special classes on how to make history and civics as boring as possible. So Schoolhouse Rock and Little House on the Prairie were our only exposure to what our past was like.Accurate or not.)

If the phrase "Blue scadoo, we can, too" means anything to you, and you know that salt and pepper are actually a married couple with French accents, you probably have a potential consumer of this 50-minute video residing in your household. During two 25-minute segments, our host Steve and his animated dog Blue together serve as a Martha Stewart for preschoolers by showing them how to make a stage-worthy sock puppet, bake a scrumptious banana cake, and mix yellow and red paint for that perfect shade of orange. Now the tricky part of owning this tape is that your child is going to want to sew, bake, and paint each time he or she watches this stimulating video. Are you prepared for such chaos? Read more

This movie has been shown in my language arts class for the last few years and has renewed interest in both the story and Washington Irving. I highly recommend it

5-0 out of 5 stars It's a "must have" for the young and young at heart alike.
The Rabbit Ears Productions, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" is the age old tale of The Headless Horseman written by Washington Irving but told quite grippingly by Glenn Close (of 101 Dalmations fame). The music byTim Story (Windham Hill Records) adds a hauntingly hypnotic touch to themarvelously illustrated scenery (by Robert Van Nutt). It's a "musthave" for the young and the young at heart alike.I have looked along time for this hard to find video all to no avail. Thanks toAmazon.com, it's part of my video library now. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Not for kids under 6
My 6 and 7 year old daughters really liked the movie. But my four year old is waking up every night now having nightmares about T-Rex hunting her. Those T-Rex were too realistic. If the movie had been rated PG my rating would have been higher. So please be careful with your little ones. Kids under 6 can not distinguish between fiction and reality!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars More like a conversation.............
I am 13 and I own 1-8 of the series. As you have seen in my other reviews, I kept saying that the 7th one was the best. That's because it is true! Sure, the first one was nice, but very intense and Cera was really stupid in the first one. I liked the song in the credits. I am glad universal had one of Dianna Ross's songs in the first one. I used to love Chomper! I still think he's adorable, but I don't enjoy him as much.

I have just about worn out this videotape. It is one of the few video cassettes that I still own, simply because it cannot be replaced on DVD (yet). If you like cartoons and have not seen this, it is a MUST! Oh please, WB, release these fantasic shorts uncut and in all their glory on DVD! Please! Please!
5-0 out of 5 stars Tex Avery....on dvd, but NOT in the USA!!!!
Why is it that one of the undisputed grand masters of american animation does NOT have any of his work on dvd in the united states ?????This is such an incomprehensible feat of omission by Warner who owns the rights to practically al of his greatest work that I just can not get over it!!!! Indeed, a marvellous boxset, with extra's, of 63 of his best cartoons has been issued by this studio....but ONLY in FRANCE!!!!They think of Tex Avery as a genius over there and so warners cashed in on his fame....in the USA there seems to be the idea that nobody will buy a boxset of Tex Avery cartoons I guess.....In these days when every piece of trash that has ever appeared on tv or film gets a ultimate collection boxset the work of this genius, these hilarious works that were so far ahead of their time get not even a nod in their own country!!!!!
5-0 out of 5 stars Pure animation gold. Needs to be on DVD!
Why, oh why is this not on DVD?! This is a fantastic colection and should be on DVD (with lots of extras) for every one to enjoy. The toons are classic. I can remember seeing many of them as a kid. Some of the gags are a little dated, perticulaly those made during the war years. How ever, over all this was some of the best animation ever produced.

5-0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly rewarding Nostalgia Trip
I never liked dogs when I was a kid, mostly because I was a runt and they could pretty much eat me whole. Which didn't preclude me from liking the idea of dogs, or from loving this film way back when. On a nostalgia kick I bought it again and expected to have another aspect of my childhood destroyed upon being reminded of how horrible some of the things I liked back then actually are from an adult perspective (A few examples come to mind, but at least I won't have to contend with liking a few things on TV nowadays that will definitely have future adults cringing...).
4-0 out of 5 stars All Dogs Go to heaven
Don Bluth's 1989 film, "All Dogs Go to Heaven" is a smart movie in it's own way. I agree with some out there that it does own a darkened tinge to it, but none the less, it's a good movie for most viewers. I, just especially love Don Bluth's traditional animation and movies including, "The Secret Of NIMH" and "The Land Before Time", which were made all around the 1980 decade. I personally think that was when Don Bluth's best and most memborable films were made. Though, back to the subject, this movie definetly stood out in my mind, with it's cute songs, but which could use more work and appear more in the movie, like "You Can't Keep A Good Dog Down". This song was the one with the main character, Charlie, a German Shephered and his loveable friend daschound, Itchy sing in the bar. With refrences to gambling, which in a dog's fantasy world, rat races, and subjects containing killing, can be gestured to adults though it has it's light-hearted, happy-go-luck kiddy moments with the graceful Whppet Annabelle and Charlie romping the the clouds of heaven and the little orphan who Itchy and Charlie take under, Ann Marie's loveable moments with charlie and Itchy. Carface and his sidekick, whose name is forgotten by me, are the nuisence of a villan, who plot to kill Charlie. Charlie who only takes care of and pretends to love Ann Marie, in hopes to pay back Carface with money owed so as he can live. After time and instinces, which the inseprible trio go through, helps Charlie to soon love the little girl. I myself, thought this movie was good if your looking for a movie with a few dark subjects and childish subjects, then this mobie is for you though I don's really recommened it to any child under 6.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another Superb Feature from Don Bluth!
This is the tale of Charlie, a German shepherd that shares a business with an evil bulldog named Carface. Carface wants the business all to himself so makes Charlie drunk and kills him. Fortunently, Charlie makes it back to Earth and uses his dachshund sidekick, Itchy to capture a girl that can talk to animals. They use her to talk to animals that will be in upcoming races, bet on the winning one and make a fortune. But the girl finds out their scheme and runs away, only to be captured by Carface. Charlie goes to her rescue but dies in the process because his "life watch" stops. Even though he wasn't allowed back into Heaven because he escapes to Earth, the angels let him in anyway for being man's best friend for once in his life. With great songs and super animation, this movie belongs in every home! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars loved across my clan's generations
I recently showed a VCD of this movie to my six-year-old nephew. He liked it so much, he insisted we bring it along to a party we were having the next day in another house.
5-0 out of 5 stars Charming classic...
I remember this movie from my childhood.I remember seeing in theaters when it was first released back in 1977 and I remember it being a huge hit.Now I'd like to purchase it on DVD but I kind of hesitate to, because I haven't heard many good things about the quality of this DVD issue, not the film, the DVD.

My son loves to sing along with the video. His favorite song is the chicka chicka abc song.

5-0 out of 5 stars Money well spent.
My 5 year old daughter absolutely loves this! She can't stop watching it ... and, as a tribute to the quality of this product and the stories they have included, I will admit that the rest of us don't mind the frequent repetition one bit.

5-0 out of 5 stars If only it was on DVD!!
I originally taped this special the one and only time it aired on TV. My VCR at the time was broken and recorded everything in black in white, but I loved Opus N Bill so much I kept the tape for years. After looking for a real tape of it everywhere with no success, I discovered Amazon shortly after the site came online and to my astonishment, Amazon had Opus N Bill listed. I bought it immediately! It was the first purchase I ever made on Amazon and years later it is still to this day, my favorite. I was thrilled to find it on VHS back then. The only thing that would thrill me more would be if it was released on DVD today.

5-0 out of 5 stars A classic for Bloom County fans!
If you are a product of the 1980's and reader of Bloom County, this is a must have! While not all the Bloom County characters are in it (more Outland than Bloom County), it is great!Bill as an animated character is even more funny that I thought he would be.The hairball and the seagulls scene is a total crack up!

4-0 out of 5 stars Actually, I wanted to rank this 4.5 stars.
I watched this movie when I was in middle school, and I bought the DVD and soundtrack CD. Atually, this wasn't an excellent movie, at least, it wasn't as good as "The Little Mermaid", which was published 1 year later after it. But I don't know why I love this movie so much even more than 10 years past.
1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible, horrible, horrible!
This was probably one of the worst Christmas presents I've received, although not to sounds mean, I truly appreciate it and the person who gave it to me knows it and he even knows I wouldn't really like it much, but that I am making a Disney DVD collection and want to own all of the classics.
3-0 out of 5 stars Underrated Disney classic gets the DVD treatment
During the 80's, the studio hit an artistic, creative, and commercial slump. However, I still find that I quite enjoy Disney's 80's films, many of which experimented with computer animation, non-musical storylines, and different source materials. One of my favorite pre-Little Mermaid 80's Disney films is Oliver and Company. Boasting a soundtrack filled with great songs and a wonderful cast of characters, Oliver and Company finally gets the DVD treatment, albeit a less-than-stellar one.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE CAT'S MEOW
If you are an adult who absolutely cannot tolerate what might be called "a really cute movie", then you must at all costs avoid STUART LITTLE.However, if you're either (a) an adult who can't resist such cuteness; or (b) a cat owner who loves watching cats talk, then STUART LITTLE is right up your alley!!M. Night Shamalayan (Sixth Sense, The Village) of all people is the co-writer of this whimsical adaptation of E.B. White's classic book. While the humans are insufferably coy, the animals are the true stars of this film.Geena Davis and Hugh Laurie (House, Flight of the Phoenix) ooze paternal bliss as Stuart's adopted parents, while Jonathan Lipnicki is the epitome of kid cuteness, but it's Michael J. Fox as Stuart; Nathan Lane as Snowbell, and Chazz Palmineteri, Steve Zahn, Jennifer Tilly and the other "voices" that provide the pizzazz for this movie. The wizardry of the special effects teams gives these animals life and personality, and they're just as delightful as the talking animals in "Babe."The movie's focus on heart and family is uplifting and it just provides a ninety minute cute experience.

1-0 out of 5 stars Where's the book?!!!??
I have a couple of reasons why this is bad:
3-0 out of 5 stars Big budget nonsense!
This movie was like watching a weird cartoon where utter nonsense is accepted as normal. Reminded me of Space Jam where seeing cartoon characters and space ships landing on ball fields are accepted as no big deal. This movie may have worked better as a cartoon but I think it failed miserably as a movie.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good idea done decently
I used to love this film when I was young. The idea that household appliances could be alive was very appealing. After watching a film like this, when I was little, I almost began to handle my toaster, lamp, and other household items carefully as if not to hurt them. It's hard to pick a favorite among the gang of appliances but I used to love the radio. I think a favorite scene of many children was the bit where he dances down the stairs, singing, "Tooty fruity.."
5-0 out of 5 stars The movie of my childhood
The Brave Little Toaster will always have a special place in my favorite movies.I used to watch this movie all the time when I was younger. At one point, around the time I was 12, I felt like I was "too big" to watch the Brave Little Toaster.I was really full of it at that age. When I was 15 I watched it again as a nostalgia thing, and it really reminded me of how great it was.
1-0 out of 5 stars Great Movie, HORRIBLE DVD
It looks like someone handheld a VHS-C camcorder to the screening of a worn out film.I would honestly rather watch the VHS tape. Can you say motion sickness?I'm so disappointed... ... Read more

Editorial Review

Bored, bored, bored. That's how young Keith feels about being strandedatthe time-worn Mountain View Inn with his parents. Then he meets Ralph, anequally stir-crazy mouse who quickly befriends Keith and begs to rideKeith's toy motorcycle. Soon Ralph masters the tiny two-wheeler and"rrroom-zzzooms" through the hotel hallways, dodging four-leggedpredators, adults, and the occasional vacuum; he even risks his furryskin to help Keith recover from a high fever. Based on Beverly Cleary'sfamous children's novel of the same name, this 42-minutevideo combines live-action talent (including Ray Walston as thewise bellhop) and award-winning stop-motion animation. While the datedlook of the TV movie may not appeal to kids who prefer the heart-pumpingaction of computer-generated favorites such as Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A Cute Tale
A cute tale about a young boy staying overnight at a motel with his parents, when he meets a furry little friend who resides inside the wall of his motel room. The boy and mouse help one another out in nice ways, making the stay enjoyable for both boy and mouse. Only the mouse and his family are animated in this film. Very good actors perform in the film, some of which are familar faces. My 8-year-old son enjoyed the movie, but my 10-year-old daughter was somewhat bored. The only qualm I had was I thought the voice of the mouse sounded somewhat overly "cutesy", borderline corny. The boy's voice was more mature than the mouse's. Overall, a nice family show for viewing with younger children.

5-0 out of 5 stars Funny!
The Mouse & The Motorcycle is funny, but I did hear of the book, why I wonder if there are mice that can ride motorcycles, since Stuart Little could ride a toy car.

3-0 out of 5 stars The Mouse From a Book now in a TV Movie
Hey kids! This 1986 television special, which was based on a best-selling novel, and also had two following movies: Ralph S. Mouse(1987) and Runaway Ralph(1988), also based on novels, is a great film. The animation is kind of cheap, but it is funny in most of it, and is a great family story.Talk your parents into getting it along with the other 2.You'll luv 'em! ...
