Nearly every biblical film is ambitious, creating pictures to go withsome of the most famous and sacred stories in the Western world. DreamWorks' first animated film was the vision of executive producer Jeffrey Katzenberg after his ugly split from Disney, where he had been acknowledged as a key architect in that studio's rebirth (Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Animated Film of All Time!
Without a doubt, "The Prince of Egypt" is my all-time favorite movie. I absolutely love it. I can watch it over and over again, and I don't think I'd ever get tired of it. The animation is superior, the acting is stunning, and the music is powerful.

This Halloween special begins with Pooh and his pals getting ready for trick-or-treating, but Piglet is too scared to go through with it. Even worse, Piglet thinks Pooh is in the clutches of spooks, but in a rare test of his own mettle, he summons his courage and decides to fight for his friend. This is more of the sweet, clever, and touching material from the Pooh video-television series, easily among the best programming for children these days. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Show!!
This is a super show. I feel sorry for Piglet, because he is so scared of Halloween night. I first taped this off of the TV years ago. I just watched it for the first time in years a few days ago. I just love it. I just wish that Paul Winchell did the voice of Tigger. Although, Jim Cummings did a great job at doing the voice of Tigger.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Have!
This video is simply delightful! My family has enjoyed it immensely. The artwork is stunning and the story is just wonderful. This is definitely a great addition to your collection, and something you'll be watchingyear-round (not just at Halloween!)

Editorial Review

William Steig's delightfully fractured fairy tale is the right stuff for this computer-animated adaptation full of verve and wit. Our title character (voiced by Mike Myers) is an agreeable enough ogre who wants to live his days in peace. When the diminutive Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow) evicts local fairy-tale creatures (including the now-famous Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, and the Gingerbread Man), they settle in the ogre's swamp and Shrek wants answers from Farquaad. A quest of sorts starts for Shrek and his new pal, a talking donkey (Eddie Murphy), where battles have to be won and a princess (Cameron Diaz) must be rescued from a dragon lair in a thrilling action sequence. The story is stronger than most animated fare, but it's the humor that makes Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Two words Donkey--'Shut'....'Up'
Perhaps one of the best all around movie out there, animated or not. The chemistry between Donkey and Shrek is hysterical.
5-0 out of 5 stars TERRIFIC FAMILY FILM THAT HOLDS EVERYBODYS' INTEREST
FIRST IMPRESSIONS -- If one were to imagine a happy ending where 'Belle' from 'BEAUTY & THE BEAST' became a beast in the end rather than the beast becoming a Prince, one can get an idea of what Shrek is all about.
5-0 out of 5 stars Charming fun from an unexpected hero
Whereas Pixar always focused on good, clean family fun in its pictures, Shrek came into the spotlight because Dreamworks decided to skew the jokes a little more towards the older audience, while maintaing the basic family-friendly atmosphere. It worked, and Shrek was the film that proved it didn't take Disney/Pixar to create animated box-office gold.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, warm trip down memory lane!
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a charming and playful Halloween story that adults and kids will love. Bing Crosby's smooth tones are the perfect accompaniment for this old-fashionied cartoon - perfect for snuggling under the covers on a dark, rainy night! I absolutely loved it as a 7-year-old kid and I am thrilled to share it with my little boy.

5-0 out of 5 stars The eleventh animated Disney masterpiece is a winner
I recently reviewed "Fun and Fancy Free," released just two years before this film.Walt Disney tried the same thing in that film that he did in this film; he combined two shorts into one release.Unfortunately, the technique did not work well in "Fun and Fancy Free."The technique worked very well in this feature.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Teachers and other educators
Okay yes they do talk fast, but this particular video has a great learning addition: both Wakko's America and Yakko's world is on this tape. Even if they kids don't get all of it, they'll pick up on some of it, and before you know it, maybe they'll recite the state capitals without much trouble.5-0 out of 5 stars Animaniacs Rocks!
Animaniacs is the best show with the best music! This is my review of every song: "I'm Cute" is a very cute and funny song thanks to Yakko and Wakko getting bored. "Snitchelbank" is very funny when you are seeing the cartoon, the same thing with "Make a Gookie", a parody of "Fealing Grovy". I like how they combinded 2 cartoons to do "Our first day of School" and "Wakko's America". H.M.S. Yakko has a funny story and the songs get better and better near the end. Can you sing "Yakko's World" without the words? I can! "I'm Mad" is a great song to sing along with my sister Nina. The theame song is great and very energetic. All in all, this is great!

5-0 out of 5 stars Disney does its magic!
Another Disney classic just like Pocahondas, Shrek, Snow white, Alandin and Lion King. These are cartoon figures and films that are never forgoten.

2-0 out of 5 stars The legend reworked...
To be fair, the legends of Herakles, as they were originally written, have little to do with this movie, but maybe that's for the best.Having grown up on Superman, Batman and the Justice League, I have a hard time calling a person like Herakles a hero.In the original legends, he was a warrior, but also a brute who eventually wound up killing his wife and children in a fit of rage.He also wasn't, as far as I can tell, as strong as in this version.
5-0 out of 5 stars Good Fun - the Kids and I Liked It
This is a great show and very entertaining. The story isn't the Greek classic, but it's a fine riff on it.The songs are good, and they grow on you as you watch.I take issue with the reviewer who thought there was gratuitous sexuality in the Meg character - it's just a cartoon, for pete's sake.

Editorial Review

It's hard to know who thought it would be a good idea to make a live-action version of Disney's animated classic. The one bright notion anyone had was casting Glenn Close as Disney über-villainess Cruella de Vil; her flashing eyes and angular features are a perfect match and do credit to what is one of the most indelible animated characters Disney has ever created. The story remains essentially the same, focusing on Cruella's plot to kidnap the puppies of a young married couple (Jeff Daniels and Jolie Richardson) and make them into a coat. But the dreaded John Hughes, who wrote this script, fills it with sadistic slapstick and far too few genuine laughs. The human actors work hard, but to little avail; thankfully, there's a passel of puppies to regularly steal scenes when the going gets dreary--although there are only so many laughs to be had from inappropriate dog puddles. 5-0 out of 5 stars My Favorite movie of all time!
101 Dalmatians is simply my favorite movie of all time. Funny plot and loveable charcthers and great rated G horror movie. I was very young when I saw "101 Dalmatians" in 1996 and I was So scared of Cruella but, that is sort of a good thing because Glenn Close's proformance is so great and that is what I look for in a movie. Almost 10 years later, "Dalmatians" is still fresh and great. One thing I have a problem with is the price for the DVD. Even though I love this movie, Im not going to pay that price. Great movie way awful DVD price.
4-0 out of 5 stars Family Funny
In 1996, Disney remade the animated classic "One Hundred and One Dalmatians" into a live-action movie. The plot was kept very similar to the original, with enough variation from the original to keep the plot fresh.I found this version to be enjoyable and sufficiently family friendly that I have enjoyed watching it more than once.
4-0 out of 5 stars Better Than Expected
This movie surprised me.I had expected the Disney people to give us the same load of hidden sex and I felt sure Glenn Close would have demanded extra screen time ... but I was pleasantly disappointed on both counts.

Look who became a star. Barbie comes to life in this computer-animatedChristmas tale that quite naturally takes the longtime favorite doll into a newrealm. The plot is a slight variation on the traditional ballet based onTchaikovsky's music. Instead of being in an open-ended dream, Barbie and herescort, the Nutcracker (soon to be Ken, natch), are on an adventurous quest.Along the way there are more creatures and derring-do than in the original. Thesole known voice talent, Tim Curry, has a good old time as the Mouse King, andthe animated dancing is gracefully adapted from New York City Balletchoreography. A few clever characters, bright animation, and wonderful musicshould entrance any Barbie fans ages 3 to 9. The 78-minute feature debuted onvideo shortly before playing on CBS in 2001. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wacky Fairy Tales
Who doesn't love a fairy tale? Now imagine your favorite fairy tale with a new humoristic twist performed by the muppets and you have unstoppable laughter. The songs are catchy and I found my daughters singing them after watching this movie. Muppets are supposed to be fun and this movie is an fine example of their very best. This movie has been viewed many times in our household.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nothing to write home about but certainly no failure
The Muppets are still the Muppets. I agree that since Jim Henson died, it seems to take a lot more effort to put together something worthy of their original off the wall charm, but it can and has be done in Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppets Tonight!. Muppet Classic Theater shows us that the focus has shifted to Gonzo and Rizzo since Dave Goelz and Steve Whitmire are among the few Muppeteers still dedicated exclusively to Muppet projects. Granted, these stories are rushed and simplistic and the songs are mediocre, but the work Goelz and Whitmire put in reminds us that these are still the characters we love. It's much like seeing your favorite actors in a bad movie. The story isn't so hot, but you can tell they've still got it and will go onto do better things. ... Read more

I don't know what all the fuss is about!I am not a politically correct person.I am a grandmother trying to show my grandsons what wonderful songs came out of such great movies produced by Disney. All I know is that Disney should re-release such awsome movies so that future generations can admire and enjoy what they're parents grew up with.I have most, if not all, of the sing along songs made by Disney on VHS and I would like them on DVD.My children are successful in their careers and by no means did these movies do them any harm.It taught them to enjoy beautiful music.I agree with Mr. Willert, there are alot of unappropriate movies out there that should be banned but it seems that the most innocent, patriotic, no violence, no sex and certainly spiritual movies are the ones that are criticize the most. And us as consumers, a majority, don't have a leg to stand on because of all the politically correct people, a minority, who have the power to decide what we should hear, see and believe. So please go ahead and re-release all the sing along songs on DVD and believe me you'll have a alot of devoted customers for life (including me).

5-0 out of 5 stars If Fantasia Was A Perfect 100, Fantasia 2000 Is About An 89
Not quite up to par with the original, this LONG awaited second installment (not the same thing as a sequel) was hampered by interruptions when celebrities came on-screen to discuss the works. Not only did this in my opinion disrupt the continuity of the visual accompaniments to some of the human species' most beautiful music, but in fifty years people aren't going to know who most of those by-then long-dead women and men are, and this is supposed to be a classic for the ages. I also think Fantasia 2000 was missing the delight elements of abstraction and darkness the first film had. Finally I wish it had broken the mold of modern animation by being hand-drawn and painted, instead of making the extensive use of computers as the producers so clearly did.
