The Firm is the most effective workout you'll EVER do...
For this series (one of three), a 14" "fanny lifter", sculpting "stick" and dumbbells are recommended. However, you can use just dumbbells and a regular aerobic step with an old broom handle (that's what I do)! This is a fun workout; it's got weight training, cardio, and lots of variety. I am 48 years old and have been doing the Firm since the first one came out in the late 80's. Truthfully, I have a tight, toned body that everyone says looks no older than 35. If you do these videos, you WILL get results.

Great Step Workout
This is a great step workout in only 30 minutes.This is a great video to do when I am short on time and to get a good sweat.The moves and the step are really easy to follow,but very effective.I use a relatively high step bench to to this workout.I like easy to follow moves with use of a more higher step.If you are advanced,using a higher bench will be just fine to get a great step workout in 30 minutes.This video is about 15 years old now,but it is still a effective workout.The instructer Marian is features in a lot of other Esquire tapes that I own.She is a pretty good instructer,she cues well and is easy to follow.I would recommend this video.

Simple Step, Great for Beginners
As far as getting a workout with this video, it could happen, but you have to get past the insturctor's voice. I could not. Excellent workout video
This video is excellent if you are a beginner. It lasts about 30 minutes and it contains warm up, low impact aerobics and cool down so is a complete and safe workout. I used this video for about 7 months until I felt it was safe to move to harder aerobics. You can still use this workout video when you are in the mood for a light workout, like I do sometimes.

Low impct review
This is video that I would recommend for someone starting out. I would not suggest this video for intermediates and advance at all. She sounds extra hyper in this video like she shouting at you. This is an older video I happen to like her new ones better. I did not like the music all that match. She does about 20 minutes of aerobics and some toning. She uses a ball in the video, but you don't know that until you use the video. Ihonestly thought the tape was borning. It wasn't her best. Don't know where to start, its so bad. Lighting was bad, picture quality was none. No direction, it seemed like the girls did not know what to do, the camera man did not know what to shot. Seem like the film should have gone at the end of number two, and left there. Best thing I can say, DON'T waste your time or money.

His instruction is masterful: he cues ahead of each move, so that you hear the instructions in time to perform the steps successfully. He breaks down the moves into their simplest components first, teaching one part at a time--sometimes slow-motion, sometimes arms and footwork separately--so that you get them. Then he builds the moves into patterns complex enough to make your mind (as well as your body) spin. The steps are low-impact at first, getting progressively higher-impact as the workout progresses. Great Video!
This is one of my favorite videos. Once you get the moves down it's a blast. You'll need some room for this one, though.

This tape is AWESOME!! I am now looking online to see if he has any others!I've only done it one time and I LOVE it...It's all in what you like and what u are looking for. I was looking for high impact and something to keep my attention and this is great!I have several tapes/dvds and this is the best by far, other than my Donna Richardson and Zumba!I love this, u don't feel like u're working out, it's just fun!!!

Boring and SappyStep Tape!
I *hated* this video. I had no idea when I bought it second hand that it was a Christian exercise tape; I don't have a problem with that, but I do have a problem with the fact that the package doesn't tell you that so that if it isn't your thing you can bypass it. The music was sappy and the moves were boring. I couldn't wait to unload it! I prefer more energetic, upbeat workouts. If you like laid back, then this is the tape for you.

Great for Beginners!
This is a great video for someone who wants to do step at home.It uses limited floor space,and is a nice combination of simple moves that will keep you moving.If you are new at step, the instructions couldn't be more simple.Furthermore, the camara work makes it feel like Becky is right in your living room with you.She neither yells nor gushes her instructions, and the extras are refreshingly silent, so you can concentrate on her instructions.She is real, with no plastered smile on her face.And, you have propulsion moves, as well as a lot of good stepping.There's abs, arms and leg toning afterward.After years of stepping, this is still my favorite step video for a complete body workout, and the music is really refreshing.I recommend it highly, and my friends who have seen it bought it, and began stepping too.

Great for beginners and those who want a short workout!
I love this tape!It is the first tape I bought and out of the 30 I have the one I still do the most. Its short and very easy to learn.I lost 30lbs and 5 sizes working out with Jane. I like to use this tape to do after lifting weights or just do the stretch after doing the aerobics part. I recommend this tape for beginners or advanced.Just depends on what level you want to do.There is not any lunging,squats,jumping, or abs in this video. Just strictly moving your body to music and burning fat!

Not Really Low Impact
Aerobics - 1 Star Learn to Co-ordinate!
I felt normal when I read the reviews over here: I'm not the only one unable to coordinate! But as a woman living in the middle east I find the dancing moves in the aerobic session lively and new to me as *dancing sessions* and not aerobic sessions. I don't look at the mirror when I follow. Looking like them and moving like them aren't my first priorities, I think learning a little coordination is better than nothing at all, so you can do your best if not the best! As for the streches, I'm not really interested, I just gave birth and all I need is to burn and have a flat tummy again. Great workout
I love this workout. There are two instructers, one doing a harder workout and the other doing a more relaxed one so you can choose how hard you want to work out. I bought a couple other videos to mix up my routine but I liked this one so much more than the others that I find myself doing this one everyday. Its not too hard but a great workout. I have had this video for 2 weeks and lost 5 lbs already. I highly recommend this video.

Good for beginner or later
I do like this tape.Both of the instructors give instructions about what's coming up so you don't get surprised.The first time around, some of the jargon confused me, but I stopped and watched a couple of the moves and got into it.They are good also in that they remind youof what you can do to make it easier or to step it up a notch.

This video workout is great for anyone, but particularly for those who like Gospel or rhythm.Wish I had known about this much sooner!The only comment I have is that Kurt Carr and Singers should have appeared often as a "frame" in the video so that you can see the exercise steps at the same time as you see the choir.Sometimes during the exercises, the camera shifts to the choir so much that you miss the next exercise steps. Wonderful idea though.Wish they would release a new video or create a series.Also, they could use some more African-Amercian dancers in the video and other people too that are not the perfect body weight. ...
