Richard Simmons is the king of motivational exercise, especially if you're a beginner. This video workout is a dance party simulating a class reunion, with an energizing live band playing lively hits from the '50s and '60s, such as "It's My Party and I'll Cry If I Want To," "Great Balls of Fire," and "Dancing in the Streets." The singers and musicians sometimes come offstage and dance with the exercisers, adding to the energy and festivity. The choreography is very simple, low impact, light intensity, and appropriate for beginners and overweight exercisers. (You may not get your heart rate up if you're very fit, although you'll enjoy the music.) Richard doesn't do much in the way of cueing--he assumes you'll just follow along. His onscreen class has women and men of all body shapes and sizes, and everyone is having a blast. You will, too. At the end, the exercisers dance down the floor and the screen flashes how many pounds they've lost--several have lost more than 100 pounds. Pop Cultural Masterpiece
The workout is a lot of fun, but even if you are not buying it for the exercise, this video delivers a ton of fun and a trip down memory lane.Were we really so young, fat, and naive?Awesome!

I thought Richard Simmons would offer a good energetic workout. I would recomend this product to the elderly or people with physical conditions, I on the other hand got more of a workout walking to the mailbox to get this tape. I stood in front of the tv for about 15 min's waiting for them to start the actual workout I then started fast forwarding looking for the workout. I never found it. I then took the tape out and put another one in. If you are looking for a good workout I would recommend you look elsewhere. Sorry Richard.

Richard Simmons = good
First of all I would just like to say that I love Richard Simmons and his tapes have made me happier than any other workout tape I have ever used. I am 16 years old, and when I was little, about 3 or 4, my mom bought Richard Simmons: Sweatin' to the Oldies, her and her friends would excercise to it and bring their daughters along and we would dance and just have a good time to the music. Now, they haven't done that in years, well, probobly about 12 years actually, and I, being the naive teenager I was, would make fun of my mom for having done Richard Simmons because it seemed so lame. But then a couple years ago, in secret, because I would have been devistated to like, have my older brother and his friends come down and see me doing Richard Simmons, I put in Richard Simmons and excerised with him. And I actually really liked it! I loved the cheesy dance moves and watching the people on the tape sing along to the music! It makes you feel so good about yourself and (suprisingly) did not make me feel like a loser! It made me feel good. Now if I ever am feeling like I have been lazy all day but it's too rainy or cold to go outside running and I'm too lazy (or it's too late) to go to the gym, I pop in Richard Simmons. It still makes me feel good. At the end of the workout whenyou cool down he tells you to "Give yourself a hug" and it makes me smile, everytime. ... Read more

A Tale As Old As Time Done Right
Beauty and the Beast may well be the very best animated film Disney ever produced. The characterizations of the leads are great as we have the sweet book loving Belle and the the flawed but totally redeemable "Beast".Gaston and Belle's father are also well drawn and memorable as are the comic relief bearing "enchanted" servants at the castle. There's something for everyone as the story is so romantic it leaves a lot of grown up ladies sighing, the bad guys are not too scary for the little ones and for the rest it is just a great tale.Plus Beauty and the Beast has some of the best songs ever written for a Disney production.No wonder the Broadway musical hasbeen such a hit as well.

Tied for first for best Disney feature
I must've been about 10 when I first saw the Lion King and I was practically floored. Those catchy-for-their-own-good songs, the animation(well, me now talking) and that wildebeast stampede. The other one is Beauty and the Beast which for the life of me I can't remember seeing when I was young yet loved every minute of it. Revisiting it now I still love it and on one hand seeing it as a landmark in Disney's catalogue but also one in a series of films that marked a brief creative comeback.

AGreat Halloween Tape
This is my favorite video, I love it! I watch it over and over- not just at Halloween.A lot of the narration is quoted from the book. I love everything about it: the story, the characters, the animation... It's a great video for people of all ages.

Not an ideal choice for younger kids, this hip and violent animated feature from Disney was nevertheless a huge smash in theaters and on video, and it continues to enjoy life in an acclaimed Broadway production. The story finds a lion cub, son of a king, sent into exile after his father is sabotaged by a rivalrous uncle. The little hero finds his way into the "circle of life" with some new friends and eventually comes back to reclaim his proper place. Characters are very strong, vocal performances by the likes of Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, and Whoopi Goldberg are terrific, the jokes are aimed as much (if not more) at adults than kids, the animation is sometimes breathtaking, and the music is more palatable than in many Disney features. Monarchies tend to create dysfunctional families.
Disney's "The Lion King" is a pretty good movie about a young lion cub, named Simba, who is to become king of a place called Pride Rock located in the appropriately named Pride Lands. I always thought that the part where Simba's father, Mufasa, is killed by his brother, Scar, was kind of tough to watch. On the other hand, from a historical standpoint, scenarios like these were at some point a commoplace reality, all because of an intense desire for power. The most memorable part of the film is the scene where Scar turns on the hyenas, to whom he'd referred as the "real enemy," then tries to make up with them right afterwards by calling them his "friends." The best part was the subsequent reaction by the hyenas to his double crossing.

this movie was incredable. i don't understand how people can dislike this film. this movie's deep and intense story made it great for children AND their parents, a feat rarely accomplished. but rather than stay depressing and traumatizing, this film goes from drama to side-splitting humor within 13 seconds. the best part is that this is all done with seemless perfection.

The top evidence of a great DISNEY movie? A preeteen / teen saying it rocks. Which I am willing to give.When I was 3, I LOVED this movie. I mean, that's all I would watch. And then, just as a "nbody's going to see me anyay, why not?" mood, I saw it again. And fell in love with it. Again.Jodi Benson - spectacular. She deserved, like, 5 Academy Awards. The rest of the quirky cast? Why are there not more than one "Best supporting actor/actress"? The animation spetacular. The storyline - ths is why I love it.

You know I couldn't write reviews of almost every other film I have seen, and leave this one out!I remember the day I saw this film for the first time, when I was about seven years old.It was one of those films you never forget. I had the great fortune to see "The Little Mermaid" in the theatre (which is how it SHOULD be seen).Not only is the animation spectacular and absolutely stunning (this was before the introduction to computer animation, that is so widely used today), but the actors providing the voices for the characters are wonderful.

THE LITTLE MERMAID is the first movie I ever remember owning. Since then,I've watched a good dozen times, and it still gets me every time. I still howl with laughter at the antics of Sebastian and Flounder(he's so cute!), sigh romantically as Ariel sings to Eric on the beach(ARIEL RULES!!!!), boo(then cheer later)at King Triton, and shudder as Ursula makes her plans for "triton's undoing"! The wonderful music and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken make me dance around singing. It belongs with all the classic Disney films. All in all, a wonderful film.

Tae Bo Workouts
I have to say how wonderful, motivational and challenging tae bo workouts are.In 2 months I've lost 32 pounds, I do tae bo 6 times per week for about 3 months now.I must share the toning results.I've never thought there were actually muscles under the fat in my body after losing 32 pounds.I can see a huge diference on the way I feel,my energy, I feel more confident. I know if I keep doing tae bo I can get to my goal.

I love tae-bo! Billy Blanks is awesome and Tae-bo is fun and easy to use. This dvd is great because it has the different workouts so you can choose what level of difficulty you want. The 8 minute workout is also nice because it's quick enough to do if you only have a few minutes, but effective enough to get your heart pumping and let you feel like you've actually worked out, even if it's only for 8 minutes! I think anyone can do taebo-whether you are super-fit or out of shape. And if you can't quite do all of the moves in the workouts, Billy will show you ways to make them easier. Give Tae-bo a chance! I bet you'll like it!

I bought this set back in 1999, reluctantly.I had never found a good exercise video and was getting the four pack hoping that at least ONE would be good.Well, it's 2006 and I am still doing Tae Bo.I have expanded my collection of videos (and DVDs now) but I still love the originals!Billy is an extremely motivational instructor, and you really feel the vibe of the people in the videos.It pushes you to reach out and grab that little something extra, and when you do and you reach the goal, WOW, it feels AMAZING!

who ever tries to say that disney is just in it for the money is stupid, and doesnt really know what they r talking about. like on one of the comments it said that melody had no mermaid traits, that she could hold her breath for up to and over 3 min., could talk to the fish, and could hold her eyes open under the water,well...DUH!!! those r mermaid traits, so i dont know wat they were thinking, and its a disney movie, for littler kids, they try to make it interesting in the kids eyes!!!so grrr! the first one i must say was better, but i still love the sequal!!

Love it!
This is my all time favorite workout video!This video is great for the young and the old because it combines fun dance moves with great oldies classics that everyone can enjoy.It's the perfect workout for those with bad joints or do not have a wide range of motion.The perfect start and end to a more thinner, happier you!!

My Favorite workout Video
This right here is the best workout video. I first got into it late in my elementary school years. Ten years later, I still do it a couple times a week. Instead of using bottles as weights as they do in the video, I usually use soup cans. I have problems in my joints, and I cannot do any excersizes that put too much stress on my joints. I love this video because you can do it in your living room in your pajamas. I love it because it is easy to catch on to and I think it is a lot of fun. It is real motivational on those days you just dont want to excersize, but you see how much fun the people are having in the video, singing along, dancing, cheering, counting out the steps....I do it on those days when you just dont want to get out of bed. I do it as a warmup before i go running. I do it when I have too much energy or when I really have nothing better to do. I do it the week of finals when I need a study break but need to keep moving so I dont fall asleep. Basically, I do it all the time. I always bring it to 'workout video night'. My friends and I get together and everyone brings workout videos. I always make everyone start with this video because not only is it my favorite, I think it is a classic because it uses oldies that every knows and are fun to dance to. This is the perfect video to start a new workout schedule or to add some fun to a current one. I highly recommend this tape to everyone, all ages and sizes.

For Your Princess
It's so wonderful to live in a time when Disney's strange behavior of taking their classics off the market can be circumvented by great Internet marketers like Amazon. I was able to buy this 5 Star Disney Princess classic recently for my young princess through one of Amazon's third-party sellers. And without that opportunity, my little princess may have outgrown Snow White by the time Disney released it again.
Even a jaded Disney viewer should like Snow White
I am often sickened by Disney's overpriced cheesy books, toys and other merchandise that are far from "classic" as well as their idiotic marketing ploy for their videos - the Disney vault. Yet when I watch a wonderful classic film like this all is forgiven. One caution the movie could be frightening to very young or fearful children. The Queen and her mirror are really scary as are her various plots to kill Snow White. I don't think the typical kid over seven would be afraid of it especially since there is so much comic relief from the dwarfs and the cuddly animals though the film is somewhat of a curious mix. I do find Snow White's singing and speaking voice annoying as well as her role of little homemaker but you have to remember she is a product of the late 1930's and appreciate the film as a hallmark of that time.
"Magic Mirror on the wall, is this the greatest film of all?"
Snow White is simply a milestone in the history of film making. It is one of those films that has ploughed a course through motion picture history, throwing off as it does so, bits and pieces that have been seized upon by later film makers, and turned into ideas and projects of their own. Many of today's film makers will cite this film as being a major early influence on their careers.

Awesome!! A treat indeed!
I loved Disney's Halloween Treat!!! The song at the beginning is awesome and i find myself singing it at random times. I had originally recorded this off tv and have been looking everywhere for a legit copy since i think i lost the tape. :( Anyway, this is great for the kids-- i sure enjoyed it when i was little. I still enjoy it now and i watch it every Halloween because it just makes you laugh. Some of the cartoons in this special are hilarious, especially the one where donald duck finds out that a gorilla escaped from the zoo and he's trying to get away from it by running with the ladder. It's funny.
There is one thing you all should be aware of!
I love this show.I watched it every year on the Disney Channel with my family on Halloween until they stopped showing it (grrr!).But there is one thing you all should know-there are actually TWO versions of "Disney's Halloween Treat" that were made.The one that was shown on TV was hosted by the Magic Mirror (which I believe is the best version), while the one that was released on VHS is hosted by a pumpkin and follows a completely different layout than the other version.According to my dad, the pumpkin version was the original one that showed on TV first, but I don't remember it at all.Both versions are good for a Halloween treat, but the Magic Mirror has more of a spooky feel to it.If Disney ever releases this on DVD, they should release both versions on the same disc so the viewers can choose which one they can see, just for the sake of choices!

What an amazing video! I received it today. I just popped it in. This video is not only easy to do, but you can really feel it working. I purchased this video for $1.55 and what a BUY!! An Inspirational Product
Not only is this a truly great workoutthat will get you in shape and keep you in shape, it has also been a real inspiration to me in my life and work... When I was getting ready to produce the NEW SEX NOW video, there was a lot of back and forth about whether I should actually be in the video myself or hire performers to do the New Sex demonstration (I am an Ivy League graduate, after all!)One of my confidants asked me, "Is Billy Blanks in his Tae Bo video?" and I said, "He is." And my friend said, "If he's in his video, then you should be in your video." So I am. Thanks Billy, for making a great program and for being such an inspiration.

Excellent workout to fight cellulite/squishy out of shape legs and butt
A few years ago I borrowed these tapes from my sister when I wanted to get in shape for a trip to the islands and decided to start with the basic tape.Let me start by saying I HATE jumping around and aerobics on a whole. I was not terribly out of shape but I had lost all my muscle tone and definition in my legs and [back]. Anyway, I started doing the basic Monday through Friday and let me tell you, within 3 weeks I changed my squishy [back] and thighs into sculpted thighs with NO cellulite and a beautiful [back] (not one line or lump or bump, smooth booty)it was a wonderful feeling to put on shorts or a bikini with so much pride and confidence.My abs were like a washboard...I recently decided to start working out again and I was looking through old photos and came across a pic of myself in a bikini shot that I took on that island and then I said to myself TAE-BO!!!!I have to laugh because I always refer to those days as my glory days and when people would ask how I did it I would say "tae-bo basic" and low carbs...anyway the point is that I know it works...trust me.Needless to say, the tapes were borrowed and never returned to me and so after googling them, I found them on amazon and I purchased the basic tape and I am eagerly awaiting its arrival (I mean literally twiddling thumbs in excitement).If you want a sculpted body and a relatively manageable (you can get throught it) workout tai-bo basic is for you.I had bought the tae-bo live a couple years ago to get the same effect but I couldn't follow through it was too hard, I felt drained after, that's why I am endorsing the BASIC ORIGINAL tape because I was able to stick to it.Anyway sorry for the long review but I just had to add my 2 cents.For all the people out there, especially the ladies that are fighting to get back muscle tone and are not afraid of a sculpted cellulite free body, do tae-bo ORIGINAL BASIC workout and eat healhty meals limiting the food you know is crap and you will see results, well I did so it's worth a try. ... One of Disney's Finest Achievements!
In a wonderful kingdom under the sea lives the beautiful mermaid princess, Ariel, seventh and youngest daughter of King Triton, ruler of Atlantica. Ariel's feisty spirit and gorgeous red hair make her a bit of a favorite among Triton's daughters, and her passion for learning human ways and collecting of their artifacts causes much stress to her family and friends. After spying a handsome, young, human prince aboard a ship one evening and saving his life, Ariel is instantly love-struck, and this is completely unacceptable to her overbearing, human-hating father. In a desperate and rebellious action, Ariel turns to a seductive sea witch for help, who takes possession of Ariel's beautiful voice in exchange for a magical spell. The spell changes Ariel's fish-like tail into a lovely pair of human legs, but there is a condition attached. If Ariel can't get the young prince to fall in love with her in three days and seal it with a kiss, the spell will be broken and Ariel will join the witch Ursula's collection of hideously transformed victims. Luckily, the prince is in love with her already, though he doesn't know it. Prince Eric is obsessed with finding the young lady who saved him from drowning that night and whom he caught a glimpse of as she sang to him just before disappearing. When he takes in the now human Ariel after she appears seemingly washed up from a shipwreck, her inability to speak makes him sure she is not the one. Voiceless and only left with her beauty and exuberant charm, Ariel and her animal friends must try their best to make the prince see that she is the lost love he has been searching for, but the Sea Witch will do all she can to stop them before time runs out! If Ursula holds power over Princess Ariel, the king himself will have to bow down before her!

The only butt routine i have found that really works!
I accidentally gave this tape away and now am going to buy a new one. I wanted a DVD so I tried the newer buns of steel DVD's, but none of them do the floor work outs. Greg gets you on the floor to really target all kinds of muscles in there that you didn't even know you had. And he makes sure you are in the right position and understand the move before starting each one. All the other DVD's just have you do squats and lunges over and over and it can be rough on your knees and they go fast without concern of tequnique or injury. Each one of Gregs exercises is unique and does not hurt your back or knees. I am an athlete, and let me tell you this video will give you above and beyond what just rigourous excercise can do. It gives you shape, form and reduction of cellulite in those very difficult areas! And greg is not annoying, at no time do you want to slap him like those peppy ladies. He is nice and encouraging

I did not think this tape would have such an effect on my lower body.I never had done it before and my aunt gave it to me so I thought I would give it a try.Me and my mom went through the whole and by the end I was going to beg for mercy.

Disney's adaptation of the beloved fairy tale became a classic in itsown right, thanks to some memorable tunes (including "A Dream Is a WishYour Heart Makes," "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo," and the title song) and some endearingly cute comic relief. We all know the story--the wicked stepmother and stepsisters simply won't have it, this uppity Cinderella thinking she's going to a ball designed to find the handsome prince an appropriate sweetheart, but perseverance, animal buddies, and a well-timed entrance by a fairy godmother make sure things turn out all right. There are a few striking sequences of pureanimation--for example, Cinderella is reflected in bubbles drifting through the air--and the design is rich and evocative throughout. It's a simple story padded here agreeably with comic business, particularly Cinderella's rodent pals (dressed up conspicuously like the dwarf sidekicks of another famous Disney heroine) and their misadventures with a wretched cat named Lucifer. There's also much harrumphing and exposition spouting by the King and the Grand Duke. It's a much simpler and more graceful work than the more frenetically paced animated films of today, which makes it simultaneously quaint and highly gratifying. Read more

How do I play The Royal LIfe ?
I love the movie! I just have one problem. I can't seem to be able to play The Royal Life from Disc 2? I put it in my computer and clicked on The Royal Life and it just gives me a summary of what it's about and then tells me to insert the dvd-rom. Does someone know how to do this?
