At Least Give It A Chance
Alright. Granted, this movie is not exactly an over the boards smash. That said, it really isn't so bad. To be sure, there are a lot of silly moments, but remember, it's a comedy. The story starts by introducing us to a detective agency that is not doing so well. John Larroquette plays Willis, who may seem obnoxious and annoying. However, as we grow to know him, we start to understand his frustrations. He left the Boston Police Force on less than good terms, and (to say the least) he has to deal with his less than normal partners. Preston (Stuart Pankin) is a nice enough guy, but his fascination with scientific aspects of situations often distracts him from performing at optimal levels. The other partner (Bobby) has seemingly boundless psychic abilities. (Not only can he read thoughts, but he has the power of mind over matter.) What prevents Bobby from being an invincible ally is that his eccentricities often get in the way of his duties and cause less than desirable consequences. (As we see more of this, we can understand the frustrations of Willis.) Bobby's spiritual guide (Murray) also offers some laughs, but he is not without angry emotions that lead to dangerous consequences. Moving on, a nun (Sister Elizabeth) and her assistant go to these unusual detectives over a hit and run case. Our poor detectives fail miserably. But in the process they learn that Sister Elizabeth had a tragic past with Bobby's spirit guide Murray. Later, our detectives learn that the hit and run incident was only part of a plan to kidnap the cardinal. So while our poor detectives failed in the simple hit and run case, they decide to uncover the mystery behind the cardinal's kidnapping. In my opinion, what makes this comedy work is that as silly as it gets, it avoids becoming an utter farce. The bumbling detective agency not only goes through moral development, but they actually start to pull together more, and become more effective. This is a lot more convincing than so called Hollywood heroes who are faultless and indestructible. Also, there is some violence in the story, but it is well placed, and the story doesn't take a back seat to it. Special kudos to Bess Armstrong for playing a very human nun. Perhaps the most hilarious scene is in the final chase when our heroes find themselves surrounded by the villains. Preston lets out a curse of despair; Sister Elizabeth gives a swift kick to the villain putting him out of action; but before their escape, Sister Elizabeth tells Preston: "Watch your language." Not only does this movie juggle comedy and suspense well, but it also allows the characters to go through moral development. My advice is to understand that this is a comedy, don't take it to seriously, and give it a chance.

A Goober look at physic detectives
The basic story is of the rivalry of a private physic detective agency verses the police chief. An important person is abducted and it is up to the psychic to locate the perpetrator(s). The psychic must be feed Goobers regularly to maintain his stability. And somebody is getting lottery tips on the side. Second Sight

My Big Fat Greek Wedding
I'mnot known as a person who sits around watching romantic comedies. There's a reason for that. But I've shown this one to half a dozen classes and it hasn't grown stale. Witty dialogue, comic bits that work, and a fairly rapid pace that acknowledges we've seen this story before. The author didn't dumb it down, and the result is so universally appealing that I can show it to Chinese students and watch their shoulders shake with laughter. I can also see some weepies, which is always funny. Get this one and watch it when you want to relax.

Marriage is Between Families
Funny! The pressures of a Greek-American single woman who finally finds the groom and he isn't the Greek Knight she was supposed to find. Romantic Comedy with a Hellenic bent.

I must admit, after I finally sat through the whole film, that I didn't think it was all that good.The acting is uneven:while the future husband is good, the dowdy-turned-sexy wife really doesn't give a convincing performance:not only is her character not very cogent (she quickly changes from painfully shy and timid to this earthy and witty chick), but her delivery lacks whatever it takes to get me to suspend my disbelief.I just couldn't see her as a real person.The supporting actors are quite good, if predictable, i.e. the in-laws freak out then come round with lots of ouzo, etc. etc.

great career starter
I remember watching this in high school.Every character stood out on their own.Donna Dixon was my favorite-playing Sonny Lumet-beautiful and brainy.Wendie Jo Sperber was also wonderful.It She had the best lines.I always liked to see Hanks and Scolari get into the women's clothing before they got caught.Every episode is very funny and it's nice to seethem again!

You can't go wrong!

Only Two Episodes Per Tape!
There's a reason you won't find an episode listing for this overpriced series of 4 tapes-- there are only two episodes per tape, and you will find few, if any, of your most fondly remembered favorites among the 8 shows duplicated for your enjoyment at the slowest VHS speed, EP, on narrow-hub spools so your VCR will take forever to rewind them. "Gonna Have A Good Time"
"Fat Albert" is a live-action remake of the 1970s animated series inspired by Bill Cosby, with some new animated footage thrown in. It's a bit goofy, but I have watched it a few times, and quite like it.
Fat Albert Rocks
I was a little wary of yet another favorite cartoon-to-lousy live-action movie, but decided to give it a try.I was pleasantly surprised.The movie is actually very good.I must admit, one of my favorite scenes was the last, of the real-life Cosby kids (Bill Cosby and friends) in their later years visiting Albert Robertson's grave.A sweet scene.On a lighter note, the music was great, including a fabulous remake of "Dancing in the Moonlight" for a little double-dutch action at the mall, and an updating of the original series' theme "Gonna Have a Good Time".I wish they would release a soundtrack CD if they haven't.

Sweet But Pointless Remake
One thing you can say safely about the feature film version of `Fat Albert' is that the film's content is very sweet and good-natured. You can give a DVD of the film to a kid as a Christmas present without offending his or her parents. And people who grew up watching the original cartoons on TV in the 70s might love the new film. I'm sorry, but I'm not one of them, and the fact must have influenced my opinion. So, please read my review as such.

Quality...Tsk, Tsk
First of all, the episodes on this volume were great. It's the quality that upsets me. The first episode ("Mork's First Christmas") was in pretty good condition, but the second episode ("Mork Goes Erk") was in REALLY bad condition! I'd rather get these episodes from someone who taped them off Nick at Nite or from the Canadian Comedy Channel.

BEST BUY IN AGES!
Williams is a comic genius. He may own an Oscar for Good Will Hunting, but Mork is still by far his best work. Mork and Mindy perfectly captures the raw, unpredictable and exceptional comic talent which is purely Williams' own. The two episodes on this video are two of the best episodes from all four years of this heart-warming, side-splitting and award-winning comedy. I would strongly reccommend this video, and all other three volumes, to anyone who likes to laugh. It's one of the best purchases I have made in a long time! ... Read more

Out of this world romance. (Great TV Sitcoms)
Known to be a great ad lib stunt on happy days. Who would of known how deep yet, surreal this sitcom really was. Mork(Robin Williams) an alien from Ork. Mindy (Pam Dawber)a very lovely small town open-minded free lib daddy's girl, and this is where we begain.
Wonderfully Bizzare
Mork and Mindy was a favirote show of mine in the early 80's. Like TeenWolf, it acknowlleged that being different was cool (added plus, I wasliving in Colorado)and desirable. I would be able to end up with a partnerdespite my differences. Read more

Street Hawk
An excellent series for its time in the 1980's. Some special effects look slightly dated today, but it's still very enjoyable and nostalgic. The superb music (by Tangerine Dream) is particularly memorable. Contrary to what others have said, the series has never been released on dvd anywhere. Any dvds advertised are recorded from TV and will be transfers from VHS tape to dvd, as the series has not been on TV for some years. Despite a strong fanbase, an official dvd release does not seem likely in the near future. Only the pilot episode has ever been officially released on VHS.

Mork And Mindy
I'm 13 years old and I wasn't even around when Mork And Mindy came to telvision and as soon as i heard about the show i got a video of vol.1. When I finished watching the video I was so impressed by the acting of Robin Williams, and I was because Robin Williams is my favorite actor. In vol.1 the eposides that are on there are the fist eposide which is "Mork Moves In" and the 7th eposide witch is "Mork Goes Public". In the first eposide on the tape it's about how Mork comes to Earth and meets Mindy lives with her, but Mindy's farther does not want Mork to live with her. Will Mork stay on Earth? In the 2nd eposide a reporter is looking for an alien to put in his magzine, so Mindy tries to hid Mork from him. Will Mork be gone for good?

So, So Video Quality
The show "Mork & Mindy" is a pretty good show. Pam Dawber, Robin Williams, and Elizabeth Kerr were great in it. excellent
