3-0 out of 5 stars GINA AS A HOT, HOT COP
Good cop\ba d cop is a hollywood staple, the only thing that raises this film, even a little bit, is the performance by the always wonderful and sexy GINA GERSHON.GINA, in this one MAY be a BAD cop and a KILLER. If this film had a better script, direction, and secondary cast it might come close to a film noir classic. But once again THE GREAT GINA is saddled with second rate back-up.GINA I love you,but the film is only so,so.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gina Gershon is Hotter Than EVER!!
If you enjoy a movie with a basic plot, but with plenty of Gina Gershon then this IS it.Gershon does a good job acting wise, but my God, there isn't one frame in this film where she isn't breath takingly HOT!For all Gershon fans, check it out, and buy it for keeps.

5-0 out of 5 stars SEX AND SURPRISE;WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT?
This is how all of my reviews will start out..I bought this movie because of Rory.I was pleasantly surprised by what a great movie this turned out to be.It was not only interesting, but you weren't sure you had it figured out within the first 30 minutes. (I HATE those movies.)Everyone did a really good job, and the story made sense..instead of those..how in the h**l did you come up with that c**p to get to the ending? And if you've been waiting for Rory to show some skin, (that really nice body with wonderful hair..men, please quit shaving your body hair!) then this is the perfect movie for you!Oh yeah, and for the men, Gina gives you a peek also. And even though we all know he's not, Rory always does an excellent job of playing the innocent, shy, and reserved man waiting for you to crack the shell...you know..the eyes and the smile. It's a good story, with a little bit of the usual cop scenario, but winding enough to keep you wanting to see what's going to happen next. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars a terrific thriller
a beautifully made movie, with terrific plot twists, strong acting and writing.very entertaining

2-0 out of 5 stars in the dead calm of the desert, a storm is raging
Director Yuri Zeltser's thriller begins well, with an opening sequence of the robbery of a desert motel, presented with little use of music, which creates tension. And the screenplay he cowrote with Michael Stewart takes an unexpected turn midway, the treatment borrowing from Psycho, with Lara Flynn Boyle placed in a world as gothic as the one Janet Leigh stumbled into. However the climax loses us, degenerating into a standard woman in peril, set against sibling rivalry, and using the hackneyed multiple resurrection device. As the sons of the Antelope Valley Easy Rest-Inn whose parents are killed in the 10 years ago beginning, Craig Sheffer and Bradley Gregg present two people as isolated from the world as Norman Bates was. Gregg was blinded in the robbery, and Sheffer is left to be the parent, though Sheffer's long hair indicates the arrested development extends to both brothers. The metaphorical storm comes via Boyle and her husband Dennis Hopper in manic mode, half funny and half cruel. The fact that Boyle and Hopper don't match up with the robbery killers (the female being Ally Walker) tells us that something is amiss, as is Boyle posed as Marilyn Monroe and a scene where Gregg attacks her in the motel's swimming pool (a nice touch for a rundown desert motel) out of rabid puberty urges. The screenplay has the occasional amusing line - Boyle says to Gregg "Stop checking me out and check me in", Sheffer to Gregg "Wake up and smell the rabbit dung", and Hopper's "We're God's grass. We burn and he gets high". I also like how the "cool" sunglasses Sheffer wears 10 years ago become the blind glasses Gregg wears 10 years later. Zeltner cuts from Hopper kissing Boyle's thigh to Sheffer hugging Gregg, and cuts from Gregg's hand in a jewellery box to Boyle's hand in hers, from which she pulls out a gun. I was sorry to see how the shift in plot meant we lose Hopper, and I could have done without Sheffer's long hair loose as a lion's mane in the climactic storm. However Sheffer handles the aging of his character well, and I liked his imitation of pain upon seeing someone stabbed in the stomach. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Kick ASS
Colin Firth is of course, awesome in the film, and if you're like me and enjoy low budget, and somewhat twisted thrillers, you will enjoy this. Mr. Firth's character alone makes the movie worth it. Excellent acting, as always, and the character is just... yummy, in a way. Great movie, but I admit, only because of Colin Firth.

1-0 out of 5 stars Turn off the sound
This video is soley for those who enjoy looking at the very handsome Colin Firth. The story is unlikely, confusing and2-0 out of 5 stars Not even Colin can save this one.
OK, here's the plot. A struggling actress hears from her friendly neighborhood bartender that there is this acting coach who helped some well-known movie star to the big time. So, she drives to his sprawling mansion in the Hollywood Hills, and undergoes some rather bizarre exercises to discover her inner talent...or something like that. Colin Firth plays the coach, who moves through rapid mood swings, keeps a mysterious room (complete with red light over the door), and looks great in various stages of undress. The plot gets a little murky after this, but, eventually she is led to believe that he is killing off the young actresses he is supposed to be helping, tries to escape, returns, kills him (she thinks), and is traumatized by the whole experience. Lest you think I am giving too much away, let me assure you, I am not. The problem is, after this, there are more questions than answers, pieces of the puzzle don't ever fit together, and I got the distinct impression that the writer/director simply gave up. Colin Firth does a credible job with characters not quite complete, while the female lead (whose name is not even listed on the video cover) rates a C- in acting ability. Granted, her role is also a bit vague. It is implied that she is an alchoholic, yet she quits drinking cold turkey with no problems whatsoever. At times she is a scared little girl, and others, a seductress. Then there is the confusion of whether the actor, who pretends to be the acting coach, is a sympathetic person or not, and if the acting coach is actually killed and, if so, by who?Read more
