4-0 out of 5 stars Laughts for the whole family
If you liked the classic cartoon Mr. Magoo you and thefamily will enjoy this funny movie. Leslie Nielsen plays the part of Magoo just great. He is funny like in his other comedy hits. He sure gets in a mess and danger being near sigted.
3-0 out of 5 stars Not necessarily excellent
This was basically your average comedy movie.First half wasn't very funny; second have was hilarious.First of all, Leslie Nielsen plays a great Quincy Magoo, acting like he is blind, and all.Angus, the dog, is a pretty good part, too, though some of the gags near the beginning with Angus didn't really hit the spot. Some jokes hilarious, for example, the chicken scene.Only poor Mr. Magoo could end up sandpapering a boiling chicken!4-0 out of 5 stars Funny, entertaining
We really liked the movie, the kids all love it, they find it very funny. We have seen the original Mr. Magoo cartoons and enjoyed them. This movie is as funny as the cartoons. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A natural choice: Mr. Magoo plays Don Quixote!
After the critical and popular success of "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol" in 1962, the near-sighted cartoon character went from being the star of a series of second-rate animated shorts to the lead in a series of above-average literary adaptations. In this "Mr. Magoo Literary Classic" the cantankerous little fellow is off tilting windmills as Don Quixote, the knight-errant wannabee who heads off for adventures with the aid of the faithful Sancho Panza, who is certainly more confused in this peculiar telling of the great novel by Cervantes.Younger viewers will certainly get a sense of the novel from this 50-minute video tape, although a bit of the spirit is missing. While on the one hand Magoo playing Don Quixote makes perfect sense, when mistaking a windmill for a giant is because of extremely bad eyesight instead of the result of a deluded mind, it does make a big difference. As always, the vocal work of Jim Backus is superb, and there are several moments where Magoo clearly assumes the Don Quixote persona quite nicely. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully entertaining
First, a disclaimer. If you take your cinematography seriously, if you are looking for good acting and a realistic story, this is not the movie for you. But if you enjoy slapstick comedy and a martial arts expert who pushes creativity to a higher level than anyone else, then Jackie Chan's Rumble in the Bronx is the movie for you!
5-0 out of 5 stars Very Good Movie
I think this is an awesome movie. The fight scenes are very exciting and the story is pretty good. I think those reviewers downn there are being way too critical and picky. But, I'm not much of a movie critic. As a non-expert in movie, this is definitely one of my favorite Jackie Chan's movie. If you're a Jackie's fan then I recommend it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Kicks the nice guys ass and easily beats a lot of todays movie like the trasporter 2
my favorite oart of this movie is where jackie goes off on the wooden dummy at the start. The movie does have some great comedy bits and pretty good action parts, but it doesn't get any better than seeing how fast jackie can still move his hands, there is a chance that he still works out on a regular basis, you be the judge. ... High-octane gas, pumped out by the buoyant maestro of Hong Kong action, Jackie Chan. In this outing, the irrepressible Chan plays a Hong Kong cop teamed up (gloriously) with a Chinese inspector played by Michelle Yeoh (a.k.a. Michelle Khan). The plot ranges all over Southeast Asia, culminating with Jackie hanging from a helicopter ladder high over the streets of Kuala Lumpur. This one's notable for the ingenuity of the stunts, and for allowing two of Asia's top female stars to do their bad thing. The great Maggie Cheung (Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Supercop
This arguably one of his best!Incredible!Haven't seen a Kung-fu movie this good since Legend of the Druken Master or even Twin Warriors!

4-0 out of 5 stars This version is a decent buy
It's just like all the jet li movies, but the dubbing isn't near as bad, not good, but certainly exceptable.I would like to see the full version, only if there are more fights, there were really not very many in this.As a whole, I would call this Jackie's best modern day film. And oh yeah, michelle yeoh is the shiznit. NICE STUNTS JACKIE, YOU HAVE TOPPED YOURSELF AGAIN.

4-0 out of 5 stars Super Movie! Chan & Yeoh! What's NOT to Like?
I have only seen the American version of this movie and found it very enjoyable. The situations are interestring and sometimes funny. The action is great. The motorcycly stunt with Yeoh near the end, I have read, was a first for her. They basically put her on the bike, aimed her and let it go.

5-0 out of 5 stars the best of the JET LI COLLECTION DUBS, still sucks, but it is the best
I hate the fact that I have to review this movie AND the dubbing.I saw this on spike a year or so ago and thought the dubbing was the worst.I guess that I have been seasoned in watching this stupid Jet Li collection because after watching 10 or so of the american dubs of jet, I watched this again and whoever that guy is who always dubs Jet, puts on one of the better performances of his career.
1-0 out of 5 stars LOL~!!!!
If you want UNCUT ORIGINAL version, ALWAYS look for ORIGINAL LICENSED Production. NOT US Release. Its a foreign film, it should not be US version to begin with~! HELLO!!!?? Why settle for LESS with US Version where they edit and cut so many excellent scenes especially with Jackie's Fighting Scenes. And US Release ruins the speed and sound as well. I have been collecting JET Li movies both HK and US Release Version for quite some time now. I found HK Version to be MUCH MORE in enjoyable, and HIGHER in Quality. American Market always like to "Americanize" and "Control". Regional Code Regulation thing is one of the example to CONTROL the Market. Why not let everyone enjoy the same HK Original Release move the same way REST OF THE WORLD enjoys it ?? No one makes Hollywood American movies to "French version" or "Chinese Version" ~! This what Americans are doing~! Well, enjoy the cheap "American version" then~! LOL

1-0 out of 5 stars low-kicking non sequel, at least it doesn't continue anything from the last movie.
Well I guess michelle is still a cop like she was in the last one, she just isn't funny or good whatsoever in this.
1-0 out of 5 stars stay with an original
Why American production make HK movies look so cheap? First of all, they cut off so much scene, second of all ruin it by making look acting so dumb by English Dubb. For ANY of HK movies, ALWAYS stick with ORIGINAL LICENSED HK RELEASE. Be careful with cheap imports, boots though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Supercop 2 (1993)
This is a Michelle Yoeh film and NOT a Jackie Chan film. Infact Jackie only appears in a hialarious 5 minutes of the whole film. Michelle is sent to Hong Kong to stop a gang, but what she doesn't know is that it is her own boyfriend who is the leader of the gang. As a result she's torn between love and honour. Which side do you think she'll end up going with?! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun 007 Spoof!
This is not one the best stories you will ever find in a Chan movie but it has some of the best and funniest moments i have ever seen in his movies the classic ladder scene is my second favorite fight scene ever made ,the first being a tie betwenn the axe gang and final fights in drunken mast II, also the underwater kung-fu is great there are also some funny 007ish moments like the whole snow mobile ski scene also the fsb agents so in all this is a good fun movie!

4-0 out of 5 stars 2 sdtars for the movie, 5 stars for under-water fu
Now the movie itself is a little better than the rumble in the bronx or nice guy, but as a whole it kicks the sheeit out of those movies. The story isn't really worth going over, he goes on a mission. But the 2 things that stand out are the water fights and the ladder fight.Truly only jackie could come up with this stuff. And he is not even liste as the coordinator, but you knwo he had to have a hand in it.Overall this is only a 3 star movie at best, but with jackie literally jumping through this ladder and swinging it like he was trained his whole life with it.And there is another nice little movie within a movie at the end.

4-0 out of 5 stars Karma-Crossed Lovers
I have watched this movie again and again, and it never stops being a lot of fun. Romantic and creepy, action-packed and humorous, deeply haunting and cheerfully light-hearted, it somehow manages to blend these diverse genres and moods into a wonderfully convincing mix. Some of the scenes are just breathtakingly beautiful, too. And I don't want to go reading too much into what is clearly meant to be (and suceeds in being) good simple entertainment, but anyone interested in how Taoism and Buddhism (significantly, they aren't very distinct here) actually operate in the popular imagination could spend days analyzing this enjoyable film.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Movie! Horrible subtitles. Nevertheless, a must see!!!
This movie has everything from love/romance to superstition and myth.It gives the viewers a Philosophical message as well. For example, Wu Ma the Taoist in the movie, is trying to seek immortality and chants in the movie, very interesting(dont want to tell the whole story). The special effects are also done very well.Lesile Cheung and Wu Ma are excellent and subperb; they are great actors and their peformance is impeccable throughout the film. Overall, great film with some scenes that can be disturbing, but if you can get past that then its worth the trip... Also, a must see for zealous fans of Lesile Cheung.

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY

LOL

4-0 out of 5 stars Wuxia, baby....WUXIA!!! Flying Sword Fights!
This is one WILD movie. Ok, the good looking woman on the cover? Used to be a Guy (in the movie, anyway). Crazy action, flying sword fights, leaps, flips....the movie is packed with crazy plot twists and action.

3-0 out of 5 stars Mark Dacascos is the real star
Although the other actors make a decent effort, it's obvious that Mark Dacascos is the one who really knows what he's doing. While the others use wires to make themselves look good, Mark doesn't, and he still looks better. 3-0 out of 5 stars Above Average Action from Director of "Rumbles in the Bronx"
This is an average Hong kong actioner with its cast from diverse countries. From Hong Kong, upcoming star Arron Kwok appears as a special agent in Shanghai while America provides Coolio as a drug lord and Mark Dacascos as a gangster hungry for money and power (rare case for him to play a bad guy).Plus from Taiwan you get singer Leehom Wang as Kwok's hot-shot sidekick, and Japan also sends its popular actress Norika Fujiwara as a mysterious spy.It is obvious that "China Strike Force" (in Japan where I saw it, it was called "Spy_N") is made for international market, and whether it succeeds or not, I don't know, but as an action film it fares better than many other outings from Hong Kong, where you can see no longer Jackie,Chow, or maestro Woo constantly.5-0 out of 5 stars Great Action--Acting? I dont speak a lick of Chinese
The action in this movie is outstanding, the helicopter/glass pane scene is unreal, I loved it!--I am pretty sure the acting is pretty bad but I have watched this twice, once with Cantonese and the second time with the Mandarin DTS track (my girlfriend speaks Mandarin so when I saw it again with her she was happy) and I had to work with English subtitles. The DTS encoding is superb and the Lfe channel made my couch move a few feet to the right. And I can't forget Norika Fujiwara, she is one of my favorite foreign actresses, not to mention the fact that she is gorgeous (sharing the level of beauty with Shu Qui and Zhang Zhiyi)--and she is outstanding in this movie, you can't take your eyes off of her. ...
