4-0 out of 5 stars Freddy might be "DEAD" but he's still ALIVE and KICKING!
Alot of people seem to miss the point with this movie.Granted it's not scary like some of the other sequals in the series but it does have it's fair share of "dark" moments.FREDDY'S DEAD is best described as a Horror Loony Tunes with blood and guts. The movie has a very cartoon-ish feel to it, which in my opinion isn't a bad thing.Personally I think it's amazing the director could put so many creative things in this movie, usually by the later sequals in a series things start to "suck."That isn't the case for FREDDY'S DEAD.This movie has alot going for it.This movie has great special effects and it was the first Freddy flick to be in 3D, although I don't think the DVD version comes with the special glasses. On top of some interesting visuals, it does have a good handful of gory scenes. One of my favorite moments is when this one kid is having a nightmare of himself falling from the sky.Just when he's about to hit the ground, Freddy wheels out a flat cart of spikes underneath him.Needless to say, it's a scene full of blood and screaming!Classic!Anyways, in my opinion this movie is alot better than what some people have posted on this site. It's funny, it's gory and it explains some key plot details to an otherwise "typical" slasher series. This 6th sequal explains alot more about Freddy and his past than the two movies before it!It's a wonderful sequal to an already wonderful Horror movie series. So if you plan on watching this movie, do so with a sense of humor. It's dark, it's funny, it's classic! So kick back and enjoy yourself with this one.If you want something a little more "serious" in nature, I suggest watching HALLOWEEN or some other over rated original popular movie.

2-0 out of 5 stars One of the worst sequels of all time
This movie had great potential and could have been a great sequel. Unfortunately no one tried to follow through on it. The acting is horrible and the freddy deaths are like something out of a looney toons cartoon. Freddy delivers way too many one liners and they aren't even clever or funny. The idea of Freddy being able to travel to other Elm Streets and kill new victims was a great idea, but unfortunately the idea turns into $#!% on screen. The best part, seriously, is the end. Not the movie part but the credits. This is due to the fact that horrible movie is over and you get to see the deaths from other NOES movies.Catch it late at night on tv if you still desire to see it, otherwise avoid at all costs

5-0 out of 5 stars HEY A. C. Cronvich
THAT IS TRUE THAT YOU CANT DREAM WHEN YOUR UNCONCIOUS, BUT ITS ALSO NOT TRUE THAT A SERIAL KILLER CAN BE BURNED ALIVE AND COME BACK TO LIFE SO HE CAN GO INTO KIDS DREAMS AND KILL THEM THERE. ITS ALSO NOT TRUE THAT IF YOU GRAB SOMETHING IN YOUR DREAM, WHEN YOU WAKE UP IT COMES OUT. LETS SEE, OH YA AND THERES NO SOUCH THING AS FLYING PERAHNAHS MADE OF BONES AND FIRE. BUT WHO F^CKING CARES? THIS IS WHY THEY CALL IT A MOVIE! NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE TRUE YOU KNOW. BUT ALL IN ALL THIS MOVIE WAS GREAT! ITS PROBABLY ONE OF MY LEAST FAVS BUT ITS STILL A GOOD FREDDY MOVIE. NOT SCARY ONE BIT THO. I CANT WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT FREDDY VS JASON MOVIE! BUY THIS MOVIE! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS MOVIE IS AWSOME!!!!!
This movie is awsome how could a movie not be aswome when in the movie a guy gets killed by a hand dryer, a flaming corpse is slung out of a coffin, and a girl gets killed by a dish washer. This movie is the best scifi horror movie ever. Nuff Said!Buy this movie and you will fall in love with it I know I have.

2-0 out of 5 stars Nice concept, badly worked out
The main concept for this movie is certainly a good one, and it is the concept that will be talked about for a while. Unfortunately it has not been worked out properly.
3-0 out of 5 stars MAGNETIC ENDING
The concept of a serial killer's soul living inside a computer is a frightening and interesting theme. However, director Rachel Talalay doesn't infuse this movie with enough tension and surprises.Karen Allen stars as a single mother who makes the mistake of leaving her address book at the store where the serial killer works. He is planning to return it to her, and kill her of course, but he is in a horrible accident, placed in an MRI, a storm comes, and kaboom somehow his soul remains alive in the computer and he accesses Allen's address book and starts killing them off.Allen, a competent actress, does okay with her role, but it's not developed enough to place a lot of concern for her well being.Chris Mulkey (Hidden) stars as computer hack Bram Walker, whose career got halted when he hacked into the IRS and gave all the residents of each state .05 extra on their return.Mulkey has a brooding handsomeness, and a good screen presence, but isn't given a lot to do.Wil Horneff as Allen's teenage son has just reached puberty and he and his friend pay their sexy babysitter 37 dollars to unbutton her blouse.Of course, by the end of the film, Horneff is placed in jeopardy and the serial killer threatens our heroes lives in the college computer room.Ted Marcoux as the serial killer isn't given enough screen time to truly intimidate the audience, but his brief time is effective.

Editorial Review

The Year is 2033. Earth has been clobbered with a comet, civilization has been destroyed, and it hasn't rained in 11 years. Nearly all the water on the planet is controlled by the evil Water and Power company, which is in turn controlled by the even more evil Kesslee (Malcolm McDowell). Who stands in the way? Some mysterious mutants called the Rippers and, of course, Tank Girl. Lori Petty plays Tank Girl, the wisecracking, defiant heart of the movie, as kind of an inner child gone wild. Unfortunately Petty can't quite carry a movie on her own--her zingers frequently fall flat and she seems to be continually worried that we still like her. Luckily there's Naomi Watts as Jet Girl to save the day: smart, shy, and inherently way more appealing than Tank Girl. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars movie GOOD dvd BAD (some features are described)
this movie is great so what if the movie is chessy, stupid at times, or not making sense this is a great movie. first heard of it when i got a free promo book of gorillaz new album (which i do not like the band so much anymore) and saw jamie hewlette past work info. plus i checked out some of the movie on tv (never finished though) but hey good thing cause i got the dvd.
5-0 out of 5 stars What? Are you serious?!?!?!?
How can anyone watch this movie and NOT love it for what it is? I have absolutely adored this film from the first time I saw it in theaters years ago. Campy, fun, silly, and just plain addictive, I have never regreted the purchase and this is one of my regular movie fixes. For those who are hating.... go ahead and go back to watching your mainstream dribble.

4-0 out of 5 stars I am of two minds over this movie...
I am a huge comic book fan.I have been reading comic books since I was 7 (taught myself to read in English from comic books), and I have been a fan of the Tank Girl series since its inception. My love and appreciation for well written, creative comic books tell me that I'm supposed to hate this movie.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wanted to Hate It...
being a huge fan of the Stephen King novel, and of the thinking that the original version was good enough, I really was expecting this to be lame. Thankfully, my fears were annhialated. Although this is merely influenced by the novel, they did stay true to the characters' personalities. This pilot won me over, and now I am excited to see the rest of the episodes, since I feel that I will once again be able to spend time with many of the charcters I loved so much from the book.
4-0 out of 5 stars Dead Zone Fans Beware
Warning -- If you are looking for the unaired original Dead Zone pilot episode that was offered for a short time as a bonus to those who purchased the First Season Set, do not buy this DVD.4-0 out of 5 stars Very good for a TV show
The pilot is included with the first-season DVD, so now I have two of them. The production is very good, as are the special effects, especially the scenes in Vietnam where debris is frozen in mid-air while the lead character walks through the dustry street.Read more
