An Abomination!!
I am a big fan of this franchise however, I refuse to include this in the series! They should've put the title "National Lampoon's" before this.. it's the worse horror sequel I have ever seen and coming from me.. that is pretty bad because, I have seen them all. Leatherface has never been played so horribly! During the majority of the movie he looked like a phat bull dyke! Renee Zellweger hadn't finished her acting classes obviously.. she was terrible and, I wanted her to be hung up on a hook!! I heard she went cross country stopping at every video store she passed in an effort to buy and burn every rental copy she could get her hands on! The sad fact is, this will always be around to haunt both her and Matthew McConaughey.

Awful film barely saved by a couple of decent acting performances
The Next Generation is basically a remake of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, in fact up to an hour into the film the plot is practically identical, though different characters and locations are used.The original was a little overrated in my opinion and this "remake" is quite frankly terrible.Bad acting with the exception of Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughy who do their best with a terrible script and several B movie actors.The only major differences from the original are that Leatherface now dresses as a woman, which was fairly amusing but hardly essential, and a tacked on conspiracy theory.

WORTHLESS MESS OF A FILM!
They should stop milking it with crappy film franchises like the texas chainsaw massacre. This series should have been killed off by now. The first was not even worth watching! Stay away from this whole movie series!

Not The Best.........
I own and love all T.T.C.M. movies. However, I must say that if I had a least favorite, it would be this one. Although I think Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger give good peformances, I just find the "plot" to this one not as good as the other 4. A few silly scenes but this one doesn't fail to deliver the scares and gore. Just not quite as good as the others.

Being a Texas Chainsaw fan I of course picked this one up.It has 2 big stars in it, and was directed by one of the writers of the original.I'm not sure what they were going for in this one.Is it a horror, a sick comedy?It is all over the place.What is worse is that they made Leatherface a wimpy crossdresser.The ending leaves you scratching your head.Mathew and Renee do their best with the material. ...
