5-0 out of 5 stars Great movie
Stone fox is about a 12 year old boy named Willy, it is a great movie. From adam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Stone Fox
Warning if you are sensitive this may not be the movie for you. It is about a boy named Little Willy whoes Grandpa gets sick and Little Willy has to take care of him. Then Little Willy enters his dog Morgan in a dog sled race, for much needed money. But he will have to compete against the unstopable Stone Fox. ( This is the time to bring out the tissues) poor Morgans heart gives way. Then Stone Fox says anyone cross this line and i'll shoot. Then Little Willy carrys Morgan across the finish line. This may be a tear jerker it is a REALLY good movie!

1-0 out of 5 stars worst adaptation ever
This movie adaptation is awful. If you are familiar with the book you will need some antacid after seeing what they've done with the movie.Instead of a potato farm in crisis they change it to a cattle ranch.Instead of Grandpa's illness due to money worries they call it a stroke.Instead of a cranky old woman doctor they make her young and pretty. They add school chums and a pretty little girl love interest. They even change the poor dog's name.Little willy is portrayed as a whiny brat. Oh, No! the people who made this movie had no respect for the beauty of the simple book.Don't waste your money on this hideously expensive and poorly done adaptation. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Komodo Dragon
This strong episode sees Kirk locked in a life and death struggle with the lizard-like Gorn. The episode commences with the kind of in-the-trenches warfare rarely seen on TV. The brutality of the killing brings out bloodlust in Kirk, who seems ready to exact revenge until control is taken out of his hands. A rather innovative take is then applied to the battle, one which forces Kirk to rely on his wits and keep a level head. It is one of the trademarks of Trek that Kirk eventually shows mercy. Here that mercy is rewarded; if only it were so simple in the real world.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kirk confronts his own prejudice
When I was a kid, I loved this episode because it features Kirk fighting against a dinosaur-looking alien. As an adult, I can appreciate it even more. Unlike so many Star Trek epsiodes where Kirk is lecturing some other species about justice or equality, here Kirk is taught an important lesson about his own prejudice.5-0 out of 5 stars Gorn is a thorn in Kirk's side

5-0 out of 5 stars captivating!!!!!!
Way ahead of its time.I wish I could see this on the stage as it was originally done. Anyone has an interest in the seedy underworld of prison life will love it. Brilliant!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars A must see for prison movie fans
I have only seen this movie once because it is hard to watch, but well worth watching.

3-0 out of 5 stars Interesting...
Interesting but significantly watered-down version of the claustrophobic, searing stage play concerning the sexual liaisons between young men in a juvenile prison. While the film is essentially explotative in tone, andcomes no where near depicting the brutality of the prison system, it raisesa number of legitimate issues and questions re homosexuality in prison andsexual role-playing in gay society. No laurels for the script, but theperformers are strong and the film itself well-made.Not wildly memorable, but worth a watch. ... It's time to face one of the great questions of the television age: Is"The Trouble with Tribbles" really as good as everyone thinks it is? You bet. While the story might be a little slower than many of us remember, the episodeis deservedly beloved for writer David Gerrold's witty, mildly acerbic script, and the way the cast took to heightened comic possibilities against networkresistance. 5-0 out of 5 stars The Trouble With Tribbles Star Trek episode 42
While on a mission to protect the cargo of space station K-7 the crew of the enterprise is on a little R&R. The station also happens to be holding a special hybrid grain quadrotriticale that is ear marked for a planet in need. Also due to a mutual agreement visiting the station is a Klingon crew.
5-0 out of 5 stars Stanley Adams (Cerano) wrote an episode as well
The episode with those furry little creatures was the apex of humor on Star Trek. By this point in the show's run, characters were well enough developed for the actors and brain trust to feel comfortable stepping out a bit. And they certainly step out in this one. Thanks to writer Gerrold, the episode actually has a fairly solid dramatic foundation that includes Klingon intrigue, and threats to both the food supply and the Enterprise itself. One could be forgiven for not realizing this though, since the tribbles 5-0 out of 5 stars One Of The Finest Hours Of The Original Series
"The Trouble With Tribbles" is my personal favorite among the nearly 80 hours of the original "Star Trek" series. It is unquestionably the funniest, with David Gerrold's deft, wittty prose creating hilarious scenes and dialogue as precious as any I've seen on Jackie Gleason's "The Honeymooners". James Doohan's Scotty steals many of the scenes he's in, though highest honors for hilarity deservedly go to Stanley Adams as the trader Cyrano Jones responsible for the tribble infestation on the Federation space station. The fight between the Klingons and the Enterprise crew is certainly among the finest examples of "Star Trek" humor I've seen. Fans of slapstick comedy will not want to miss this terrific "Star Trek" episode.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The Federation imposes its will on another society
What would happen if war were made deadly, yet clean? If the only damage to society was the loss of people? This question was raised during the presidency of Jimmy Carter, when there was discussion of the neutron or enhanced radiation bomb. It is a weapon that kills living creatures, but does not destroy the physical infrastructure. The neutron bomb was widely ridiculed, considered immoral by the many critics, the point of jokes by late night talk show hosts and production was cancelled.
5-0 out of 5 stars Don't miss this one
This thoughtful episode concerns a planet that has sanitized war. The episode explores important themes such as 1) the sacrifice of the individual good for the societal, and 2) the drawbacks of all types of war. The latter issue in particular remains a timely one as science continues to pursue technologies that may (at times unwittingly lead to more efficient and sanitized killing. This is one episode where Kirk offers a convincing and fresh argument against a society's folly. Another plus of the episode is that it admits shades of gray rather than oversimplifying the issues. Add in a plot twist that brings the Enterprise and crew more directly into the action, and you've got a winning show. Strong guest acting, from Opatoshu, Babcock, and Lyons also boost this episode.5-0 out of 5 stars Just step into this booth for the war effort........
The old war by computer theme is played out here.Instead of fighting a war with weapons; this planet has it's citizens stepping in booths for execution. The machine decides who lives and who dies.Kirk of course ends it all with one of his talks with the Vedikarians. With one sweep of his phaser the natives have to fight the old fashioned way.... with futuristic weapons of mass destruction. The Federation again paves the way for peaceful resolutions to conflict. Only this war will last a few hundred years before they actually become citizens of the Federation. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Six of the seven do not react like Star Fleet personnel
While there is some interesting action, I dislike this episode on a visceral level. Through the unforeseen actions of a quasar-like phenomenon, the Enterprise shuttlecraft Galileo is thrown wildly off course and crash-lands on a planet. Spock is in command and the other crewmembers are Scotty, McCoy, Lieutenant Boma, a female yeoman and two other expendable crewmen. The Galileo group begins to reconnoiter the surface and almost immediately come under attack from large, humanoid creatures. One of the expendables is quickly killed and almost immediately, Boma and McCoy start to criticize Spock for being more interested in the spear than the death of a fellow crewman.
3-0 out of 5 stars And then there were...
This episode, in which a shuttlecraft is forced to land on a planet with giant bear/ape-like creatures, was an average offering by first season standards. The episode has just sufficient action and substantial suspense, and explores the circumstances under which even otherwise well-behaved crews may be led to (?) mutiny. As others have noted, this episode, one of the few in which Kirk has a secondary role, was seminal to Spock's development. Unfortunately, the logic vs. emotion arguments are talky and overdone, to the extent that they-and the participants-become tedious. The creatures also looked pretty silly, but as I've said before I try not to hold Star Trek to a high standard when it comes to such things; the effects weren't bad enough to totally compromise the 'primal fear' element so central to this (and few other) episodes.5-0 out of 5 stars Silly irrational humans
Spock here. What a bunch of kooks I work with. They don't follow orders, we have no phasers becasue Scotty drained them to use for our damaged shuttle, and to top it off that damn doctor. We're being attacked by giant apes, and instead of working to get the ship ready, we have to have a funeral for one of our own. They had better start listening to me, or those giant apes will eat us all. Silly humans, why do I put up with this? ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not that bad after all. Hey, at least its different.
Catspaw, an episode which employs Halloween frights (witches, black cats, etc.), was the first episode produced in the second season. There is a light, jaunty quality to both the music and the performances not seen during season 1. It's almost as if everyone gave a collective sigh when the show was finally renewed, and thought they wouldn't be as heavily scrutinized the next year. Whether or not this was a good thing is certainly open to debate, but there is no denying that the second season shows feel more relaxed and lighter than the first. 5-0 out of 5 stars what are scotty and sulu doing?

5-0 out of 5 stars The original series Amok time
This is one of my very favorite episodes because it shows Spock's vulcan side along with his human side.He becomes very irritated while on board the enterprise; not even the good ole doc can figure out what is going on.Upon examining him, however, Mcoy finds that Spock will die unless he returns to Vulcan.
5-0 out of 5 stars Spock as a mindless rut-fiend
This is the second best episode of the original series, trailing only "Mirror, Mirror" in quality. Spock suddenly grows irrational and emotional and will not tell anyone what is happening. Kirk finally orders Spock to tell him the cause and it turns out that it is the urge to mate. The mating urge is so strong in Vulcans that when it strikes them, they must either mate or die. Furthermore, their normal demeanor is completely destroyed, turning them into little more than mindless rut-fiends. Kirk violates a direct order in transporting Spock to Vulcan, where his wife (T'Pring) currently is and the only place where he can obtain the necessary release.

4-0 out of 5 stars Some things will not change in space
No matter where humans go and how sophisticated our technology becomes, affairs of the heart will remain. As humans become scattered on several planets and the time to pass from one settlement to another gets greater, an old problem will arise once more. Women and men, isolated on separate planets, will want to meet each other with the purpose being matrimony. Throughout the history of the human species, a great deal of the early development of new areas has been engineered by entrepreneurial rogues. There is no reason to believe that the human movement into space will be any different on both counts.
4-0 out of 5 stars That's not me Crew...That's me Cargo!
The Enterprise encounters space pirate Harry Mudd for the first time, and his "cargo" is a bevvy of beautiful women.Harry's always looking for a good deal, and if he can marry off his ladies to the lonely miners of Rigel 12, he figures he'll make a good haul. But, as Kirk discovers, the ladies looks are deceiving, and the artful Roger (the great Roger C. Carmel as Mudd) will have a lot of 'splainin to do about Mudd's Women. 2-0 out of 5 stars "This is me cargo."
Even in the far reaches of space, one must be careful not to be victimized by the con-man.And since the Ferengi would not make their presence known for another century in the Star Trek universe, Harry Mudd (Roger C. Carmel) gladly took advantage of any profitable venture that presented itself. If there still were snake oil men in the 23rd century, Mudd was their poster boy.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Except on Tuesday
This gangster episode, and Tribbles, were the two Trek comedies that really worked. While I wouldn't exactly call the humor here subtle, it is intertwined in a fairly traditional action plot. We are able to enjoy Kirk and Spock's thuggishness for its own sake while simultaneously staying focused on the plot, for the simple reason that their behavior is called for by the story, rather than being a gimmick. The idea of a highly impressionable alien race who's cultural evolution could depend so thoroughly on a random event (the leaving behind of the book) is an interesting one as well. This episode is also helped by strong guest acting, most notably from Tayback.

5-0 out of 5 stars The funniest of the original series
This is without question the funniest episode of the original Star Trek series. There is no funnier deadpan scene anywhere in television than the one where Kirk is "explaining" the fizzbin card game and asks Spock what the odds are against getting a royal fizzbin. His deadpan, yet truthful answer is, "I have never computed them." I laughed out loud the first time I saw that and still smile when I see it, even though I have seen it over fifty times. 5-0 out of 5 stars "A Piece of the Action," the 2nd funniest Star Trek episode
"A Piece of the Action" has the Enterprise visiting Sigma Iotia II, where a hundred years early the USS Horizon visited.Apparently this was before the Prime Directive, because one of the Horizon crew left behind a book: "Chicago Mobs of the Twenties."Now, once you get past the fact that (a) someone was toting a book into Deep Space and (b) it happened to be that particular book, you can really enjoy this one.Bela Oxymy wants the Federation to supply his gangsters with weapons so he can take over the planet, taking down Krako and the other bosses. My favorite part is when Kirk makes up a very complicated card game to play with the gangsters holding him hostage and Spock has to admit having never calculated the odds on the rarest of possible hands. Then there is also the bit where they try to drive an automobile. In the end, Kirk decides if you cannot fight them, join them."A Piece of the Action" may well be the second funniest Star Trek episode, after "The Trouble With Tribbles," of course. ... Perhaps best known as the episode in which Abraham Lincoln is seen, rather absurdly, floating through space in a big ol' presidential chair, "The Savage Curtain" is one of those death-match shows in which a busybody alien wants to witness true human(oid) mettle in an arranged battle. Lincoln asks Captain Kirk(William Shatner) and Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy) to accompany him to a planet where Excalbians have organized a fight between good (Kirk's party plus a Vulcan icon) and evil (Genghis Khan, Kahless the founder of the Klingon Empire, and two guys you never heard of). The derivative, obvious story was half-written by Gene Roddenberry and dumped on another writer, Arthur Heinemann, after Roddenberry pulled back from Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Is that a pile of rocks or a pile of poo?
Looks like the latter to me! While surveying a planet that has a poisonous atmosphere and is covered with molten lava, sensors reveal an artificial atmosphere and a patch of ground that resembles earth. What their eyes see on the view screen and what their sensors read are not jibing.
4-0 out of 5 stars An alien species exhibits intellectual curiosity
The major premise of this episode is intellectual curiosity, although in this case the curiosity is exhibited by alien creatures made of liquid rock that live on a volcanic planet. They probe the minds of the Enterprise crew and from Kirk's they create a facsimile of Abraham Lincoln as an emissary to the Enterprise. Lincoln is beamed aboard and is treated as a visiting dignitary. He demonstrates all of Lincoln's charm, wisdom and humor and Kirk is taken with him. Lincoln then asks Kirk and Spock to beam down to the surface of the planet with him. After reflection, they agree and beam down to an area on the planet that has been made suitable for human habitation. Once there, they discover Surak, a Vulcan revered for his principles of nonviolence, the founder of the Vulcan way of logic, and a hero plucked from Spock's mind. 2-0 out of 5 stars Another season 3 that is only good if taken lightly
Another real tanker, this one is a sort of celebrity death match in which Lincoln and the good guys throw down with Genghis and the bad company. Everything about this episode feels dark and pessimistic, right down to the lighting. Even the scenes with Lincoln are oddly cold and foreboding; as soon as he transports aboard, the lighting/print become as dark as any in the show.An episode featuring Lincoln also deserved better dialogue. 4-0 out of 5 stars Get Back In The Kitchen, Janice!
This final STAR TREK episode carries the crude, macho sexism of the classic series to an all-but-apocalyptic extreme. A weak, jealous woman, unable to accept the fact that men are "naturally" superior to women, uses an ancient alien mind transfer machine to "take over" the body of Captain James T. Kirk!
5-0 out of 5 stars Star Trek finale is a real gender-bender
The Enterprise is on a rescue mission on Camus II to save a handful of scientists that have been exposed to an unknown radiation. By the time they arrive, the only survivors are Dr. Coleman and Dr. Janice Lester. Dr. Lester is quite ill and cannot talk. McCoy, Spock and Coleman leave Kirk with Janice under the guise that Kirk's presence will quiet her - the two were once lovers when they attended Starfleet Academy.
4-0 out of 5 stars Strong acting by Shatner as a woman in a man's body
Some of the best acting that William Shatner has ever done is in this episode. Many years earlier, Captain Kirk and Dr. Janice Lester had loved and then parted. He went on to captain a star ship and although she went on to a career in archeology, she remained psychotically obsessed with Kirk. In her studies, she finds a machine that is capable of transferring personalities between bodies. By arranging to have nearly all of the members of her team die of radiation poisoning, Janice Lester is able to lure the Enterprise to Camus II. She is able to get Kirk alone with her and she transfers her personality into Kirk's body and Kirk's personality into her body.

5-0 out of 5 stars POKER EVERYONE!
One of the better episodes. As I look at this episode retrospectively (I saw it during the first run in the 60's), they - Kirk and Balok - are BOTH playing poker. Watch and see.3-0 out of 5 stars "Not chess, Spock. Poker. You know the game?"
Yep, this is the episode that featured that rubber alien that often was the last image you saw during that slide show that accompanied the end credits. This was also the episode that featured that giant beehive in space. And who can forget Tranya? Aaahhh . . . delicious and invigorating Tranya. Yet, despite these dubious distinctions, "The Corbomite Maneuver" is actually a half-way decent episode.3-0 out of 5 stars Early early Trek
The Corbomite Manuever-This episode, in which Kirk bluffs a frightening looking alien only to ultimately find out the joke is on him, was the fist produced in season one. The plot is pretty spare, and the episode has a far slower feel than later shows. Part of this can be explained by the fact that everything was new to us (the transporter scenes for example are slow), but there also seems to be a conscious effort to keep things simple for dramatic purposes. "Captain's log. Stardate: Armageddon." Kirk's rather dramatic proclamation comes in the middle of a most unusual battle: Klingons and Federation crew members clash with gladiatorial broadswords and cutlasses on an
