3-0 out of 5 stars Second Review - First OneCensored
I didn't realize that referring to a part of male anatomy would be considered inappropriate. Flesh Gordon, after all, IS an adult movie! I wrote a legitimate review, asking about the deletion of a very funny scene from the film. Very well.
5-0 out of 5 stars flesh gorden 2
this movie ROCKS!!!! for it has some of the sexiest sequences to ever grace a movie.the{DOG PEOPLE}were my favourite for they were quite {SEXY!!!}.this movie also has some very nice chioce in sexy weman!!!.and a couple of sexy fighting sequences as well as a funny and weird story making it an attractive movie worth collecting.although at times may seem a bit stretched out between the good parts.the fighting sequences and nudity are what i like best.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible "sequel"
Like another reviewer, I loved the original Flesh Gordon (not to mention the genuine article, the Flash Gordon serials) and was thrilled to see a Flesh Gordon 2 had been made.No comparison. Not even close. It is just awful.Flesh Gordon 1 is funny, campy and loaded with interesting characters, spaceships and special effects.Flesh Gordon 2 (aside from the opening with cute, toyish spacehips) is so bad, I would be embarrassed to show it to anyone.I expected sex and nudity, of which there is practically none.I expected adventure, of which there IS none. But what this movie unfortunately DOES have is a rather lengthy scatology scene.(Look it up in the dictionary)It's endless, not funny, and eventually, uncomfortable to watch.I hated this movie as much as I loved Flesh Gordon 1.In fact, I threw Flesh Gordon 2 out--I was afraid to give it to anyone for fear they would think I was "into" such things... ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Reminscent of "Stranger on a Train"
As I watched this I kept seeing Hitchcock's "Strangers on a Train" in my mind.Linda Purl plays a hardworking single mother who has a very hard driving boss who sometimes takes credit for her work.Linda Gray plays the pampered wife of a very wealthy but cheating husband. They meet because of an automobile accident ( hence the title of the film ) and in sharing their woes a plot is hatched for each of them doing away with the other's problem. But can these two attractive women actually summon the courage to kill?

5-0 out of 5 stars This Movie Captured My Attention
I'm not big on movies. This one is big. I don't normally watch R movies. This one is R because of the realistic battle scenes.
5-0 out of 5 stars What took so long?
Why did it take Hollywood so long to finally create a really good movie about the Samurai? This movie could have easily been made 20 or even 30 years ago but wasn't. The story itself was clearly availible back then. No special effects were required. Just a good sound story, a decent script, set pieces, wardrobe, cinemetography and director were all that was needed. These are all things that were readily at hand 20 or 30 years ago.
5-0 out of 5 stars Spectacular--A Truly Great Film
This is Tom Cruise at his greatest. The film's tone, mood, action, acting, directing, sets, and scenes (especially the exteriors) were magnificent!!! This is a movie with a heart, and Tom's gradual transformation--from savage soldier to honorable fighter--was refreshing and uplifting. Buy it and keep it. You'll want to see it many times, as each viewing shows you how very much more there is than when you saw it earlier. I can't praise this movie enough, and believe me, I'm a harsh critic, especially when I note something unbelievable and phony. Enjoy! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply Streisand
I have been a fan of Barbra Streisand it seems like forever. My aunt Dee Knuckles who had the only womans boxing team in San Pedro, CA. was the boxing consultant for Barbra in the Fabulously Funny "The Main Event". I can remember going with my aunt to see Barbra and Ryan at the Auditorium in LA, seems like just yesterday. The major highlight of this film is when Barbra sings "The Main Event" absolutely takes your breath away. This movie is fabulous. Way to go Barbra.

4-0 out of 5 stars Much better than it's reputation
This film was a major hit upon release in the summer of `79.With a budget seven-million-dollars, the film took in over $40 million at the domestic box office and became one of the top-ten grossers of the year.Unfortunately, it has since been written off by many fans and critics alike as one of Streisand's weakest film efforts. As for myself, I believe THE MAIN EVENT manages to be likable, funny, and entertaining.Even though we've seen the same story a thousand times before, THE MAIN EVENT is very enjoyable while it's playing.
2-0 out of 5 stars What's good about this movie?
That's a hard one to answer. I did smile once or twice, but even Barbra's most ardent fans will struggle to like this lame effort. The trouble is that there's nothing clever about it. So anybody who likes 'What's Up, Doc?' and thinks, Great, another Streisand/O'Neal movie I will enjoy, well, think again. Ryan O'Neal tries to be cute, but it looks like it's hard for him. Barbra's character is confusing: she starts as a high-powered business woman, but later in the film slips into 'vulnerable silly woman' character half the time. What's going on?

5-0 out of 5 stars A Very Special Movie
"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is quite simply a most magical filmmaking experience. It's a film that is truly brilliant in every way imaginable. From its plot, a brilliant homage to the great film noir thrillers of the 1940s', to the fantastic visuals, still impressive even today, to its smart, funny, fast paced script, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is a truly timeless piece of cinema.

5-0 out of 5 stars Four Oscars!
Well-deserved Oscars for Editing, Visual Effects, Sound Effects Editing, and Special Achievement (animation direction) recommend this delightful film, which combines live action and animation before CGI came into regular use.Watch for the beautifully realized details throughout. For example, the Toons have shadows, and when one is thrown against a venetian blind, it bends and makes the sound of somebody actually hitting a venetian blind. The interaction between live action and animation is so good, you quickly forget they're not really together at all -- and much of the credit for such realistic "interaction" must go to live actor Bob Hoskins. There are a load of extras in this 2-disc package, including both fullscreen and widescreen versions, audio commentary, a deleted scene, and a very interesting "before and after" split-screen comparison with and without animation. This is a technical masterpiece and well worth seeing again and again. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and Captivating
I was one of those who thought that Connery and Gere were too old to play their respective parts of Arthur and Lancelot in this film. Then I viewed the film. All thoughts of miscasting went out of my head, as I just kicked backed and enjoyed this highly entertaining and captivating story. The three major stars in this film, including Julia Ormond("Sabrina"), as Guinevere, had a wonderful on screen chemistry with each other, the scenery was beautiful, the costumes delightful, the romance enchanting, the battle scenes heartpumping, and the music(Jerry Goldsmith) haunting and thrilling.
1-0 out of 5 stars criminal
This film is an insult to the viewers intelligence and the Arthurian tradtion. I can not believe how awful this film is. Wooden acting, contempt for the source material, some of the worst period costumes and armour ever seen in a film and a scrip to bad they could use it for torture sessions...

4-0 out of 5 stars Medieval Gere-ooh la la!
I think this is one of Gere's overlooked films. He is very athletic and agile in this movie. The only thing he could've improved was his English accent, which tended to wax and wane throughout the movie. He was far better in this than Kevin Costner was playing Robin Hood with a midwest accent.Another good Gere historical movie was Somersby with Jodie Foster. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars sad but beautiful
Wonderful performances by Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell.Great plot.Loved it.Just one of the many reasons Quantum Leap should have lasted longer than it did.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely One of The BEST Quantum Leap Episodes Ever
This episode is extremely satisfying for anyone who is familiar with the series and especially the Sam-Al relationship. It is a definite tour-de-force for Scott Bakula's acting talents, as it is a rare time when he not only plays Sam Beckett but "becomes" those he has previously leapt into. I highly recommend this episode.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quantum Leap at its best
This is by far one of the best Quantum Leap episodes there is. Sam loses touch with his reality due to a shock therapy treatment and "becomes" people that he has previously leaped into. This causes the project to almost lose contact with Sam for good. This episode has some great suspense as Al fights to make Sam realize who he is all the while fading in nd out as Ziggy fights to keep contact. The episode has a wonderful surprise ending as well, and its a great shame the companion episode hasn't been released on video as well. Anyway, this one is well worth a few bucks and will provide you hours of enjoyment as it is worth watching again and again and again. ... Read more

A most amazing approach to clay animation.......very very detailed....a wild ride of constant transformations from amorphous shapes to sharp focused scenes and conflicts....be forwarned that the imagery is compelling, but deeply disturbing. The soundtrack, all Zappa, is from the atonal, dissonant orchestral perspective....definitely recommended for fellow artists and musicians.

4-0 out of 5 stars Sam leaps into a detective with a gruesome murder to solve
"Dreams-February 28, 1979" is something of a misnomer, because this "Quantum Leap" episode (#61, November 13, 1991) is more about nightmares.Sam leaps into a detective who is investigating a pretty gruesome murder. He may well me next on the murderer's hit list and the only ones who can help him are the victim's catatonic son and her husband's psychiatrist. To make things even more interesting, Sam is experiencing horrible flashbacks.Written by Deborah Pratt (who also wrote "Shock Theater" for the series), "Dreams" has guest stars Jocelyn O'Brien, Alan Scarfe and Bill Marcus.Certainly an interesting choice for inclusion in the video collection, which is a nice way of saying there are other episodes I would have selected first (the Lee Harvey Oswald ones being my first choice).

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the best
This video is very good and interesting, because it is defferent from other episodes of QL. It is cute to see Sam's vonerability and Al is there for Sam as usual. As also in many other QL episodes in this it is not onlyabout the plot itself, but about the friendship between the two men.Irecommend to buy the video and enjoy one of the best episodes of QuantumLeap.

4-0 out of 5 stars Quantum Leap - Dreams
This is a bit different from other Quantum Leap shows in the fact that it's length is shorter and the plot is a murder mystery. Its a good who-done-it movie with a turn of events that is surprising. I had neverseen this episode on TV so it was totally new to me and I did enjoy it. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars "Gonna Have A Good Time"
"Fat Albert" is a live-action remake of the 1970s animated series inspired by Bill Cosby, with some new animated footage thrown in. It's a bit goofy, but I have watched it a few times, and quite like it.
4-0 out of 5 stars Fat Albert Rocks
I was a little wary of yet another favorite cartoon-to-lousy live-action movie, but decided to give it a try.I was pleasantly surprised. The movie is actually very good.I must admit, one of my favorite scenes was the last, of the real-life Cosby kids (Bill Cosby and friends) in their later years visiting Albert Robertson's grave.A sweet scene. On a lighter note, the music was great, including a fabulous remake of "Dancing in the Moonlight" for a little double-dutch action at the mall, and an updating of the original series' theme "Gonna Have a Good Time".I wish they would release a soundtrack CD if they haven't.

2-0 out of 5 stars Sweet But Pointless Remake
One thing you can say safely about the feature film version of `Fat Albert' is that the film's content is very sweet and good-natured. You can give a DVD of the film to a kid as a Christmas present without offending his or her parents. And people who grew up watching the original cartoons on TV in the 70s might love the new film. I'm sorry, but I'm not one of them, and the fact must have influenced my opinion. So, please read my review as such.

5-0 out of 5 stars The power of will!
Zanussi has been one the most talented and gifted Polish Directors of the Post War generation. All his films are worth seeing, because are of great breath, audacious and originals. His inspiration is based on events of strong realism in which the limit situations are reached and surpassed.
5-0 out of 5 stars Silent Touch
This story of human connection and inspiration is a rare find. Apart from the excellent acting, the story spine links us all to life, art, creativity, birth and death. And forgiveness that breaches traditional boundaries and allows us to explore our inner stirrings, our unanswered questions. And in the end, it's a feel-good story about re-birth and the gifts we can give daily, no matter how famous, infamous, ordinary and exemplary in our singularity and uniqueness. This movie touched me deeply and I would hope it does you.5-0 out of 5 stars One of mine favourite movies

4-0 out of 5 stars " She was the kind of woman who made you want to drop to your knees and thank God you were a man!"
Watching this 1991 sequel to Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad, is like opening a time capsule.A slapstick comedy/satire set in Washington, DC, during the Presidency of George H. W. Bush, the plot involves the kidnapping of Dr. Albert Meinheimer (Richard Griffiths), the President's energy czar, who wants to reduce the country's pollution and its dependence on coal, oil, and nuclear power.Working as the Public Relations Director of the Meinheimer Institute, is Jane Spencer (Priscilla Presley), to whom Police Lt. Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielsen) was once engaged (until he was found in a compromising situation with the Queen in Naked Gun I).Jane is now the lover of Quentin Hapsburg (Robert Goulet), who has planned the Meinheimer kidnapping. 5-0 out of 5 stars Z-A-Z And Nielsen Team Up Again For Another Laugh A Minute Classic
Leslie Nielsen reprises his role as bumbling detecitve Frank Drebin in this hilarious sequel to the 1988 comedy hit "The Naked Gun". This second venture has Frank investigating a bombing in Washington D.C., only to find out about a plot to sabotage President Bush's (the father) environmental plan and destroy the environment, as organized by criminal mastermind Qunetin Hapsburg (Robert Goulet). It is up to Frank to stop this dastardly deed from taking place. It is also up to him to patch things up with his ex Jane Spencer (Priscilla Presley). This hysterical sequel to "The Naked Gun" brings back all the castmembers from the first one, as well as all the laughs. Another winner for Zucker, Abrahams, Zucker and Nielsen.

2-0 out of 5 stars Silly Entertainment
Here's another slapstick comedy that parodies the institutions of America circa 1991. How much has changed since then! The film begins with an imitation of George Bush the First's White House, with America's own version of Inspector Clouseau: Frank Drebbin. The usual improbable events occur, which may appeal more to teenagers than those over forty, except those with simple-minded tastes. The many sight gags may be funny in themselves, but do not create a consistent plot.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fred Zinnnemann strikes again inBrando 's first Opus!
This mature and off-beat movie anticipated for years the awful and painful consequences about the reinsertion of a man in the civil life after having been in the War. This neo realist picture would be marked for the Moral League, believe or not winning a dark notoriety, with a young actor named Marlon Brando making his debut with this Opus. 5-0 out of 5 stars themen
I was impressed with thismovie when I fist saw it in the50's I have been aBrando admirer ever since . Over the past 50 years I have seen all of his movies more than once. The Men has agreat message , I recommend it to all my friends .
3-0 out of 5 stars Still a good film despite unevenness
Marlon Brando's first feature film, "The Men" tells the story of a group of injured veterans of WWII who try to put their lives together.Overall I feel this is a well-done film, as it's not pretentious as many such films tend to be.Brando turns in solid performance, even though at times he over-acts which makes his character less than believable. The g/f character, unfortunately, is not very likeable; the actress never seems to get into the role, and there's little chemistry between her and Brando. The best chacrater is Dr. Brock; it's probably because of my own exposure to such physicians that I find him very believable and powerful.

One of the greatest Westerns ever made gets the deluxe treatment on this superior disc from Republic Home Video's Silver Screen Classics line of special-edition DVDs. Written by Carl Foreman (who was later blacklisted during the anticommunist hearings of the '50s) and superbly directed by Fred Zinnemann, this 1952 classic stars Gary Cooper as just-married lawman Will Kane, who is about to retire as a small-town sheriff and begin a new life with his bride (Grace Kelly) when he learns that gunslinger Frank Miller (Ian MacDonald) is due to arrive at high noon to settle an old score. Kane seeks assistance from deputies and townsfolk, but soon realizes he'll have to stand alone in his showdown with Miller and his henchmen. Innovative for its time, the suspenseful story unfolds in approximate real time (from 10:40 a.m. to high noon in an 84-minute film), and many interpreted Foreman's drama as an allegorical reflection of apathy and passive acceptance of Senator Joseph McCarthy's anticommunist campaign.Political underpinnings aside, this remains a milestone of its genre (often referred to as the first "adult" Western), and Cooper is flawless in his Oscar-winning role. The first-rate DVD gives this landmark film all the respect it deserves, beginning with a digitally remastered transfer from the original film negative. 5-0 out of 5 stars A haunting and disturbing movie drama when it first came out
I have read a number of good reviews of this DVD on this site, especially the one written by Dennis Littrel. I will thus only add a small personal impression. I remember seeing this movie when it first came out and being troubled by the sight of the 'good guy' so disturbed and unsure of himself. This is not what we were expected to see from Western heroes. Also troubling was the possibility that the good guy somehow might not win. Also troubling was the involvement of the good guy with another woman in a way which could not be understood by a very young person. If he had a fiancee then what was he doing with this elderly Mexican woman?
5-0 out of 5 stars "I've never run from anybody before."

5-0 out of 5 stars High Noon
This movie hails as one of the classics of all times. The storyline always keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting for the final challenge of whose going to come out on top of the showdown and which gunfighters will live and die.

Editorial Review

This tale of a boy, a legendary seal, and the hunters after her valuable pelt has enough animal footage and young-boy heroics to keep the kids fascinated, and it has sufficient suspense and plot twists to keep parents' attention. Set in the Aleutian Islands, the story begins with a lonely 10-year-old (Torquil Campball) in search of a pet. Instead he finds the real-life embodiment of a mythical golden seal purported to have deserted the human race because of its greed. With a huge bounty on her head, this seal of native lore returns to be hunted down again, this time with only the boy to protect her and her newborn cub. Despite some awkward lines and performances (with the notable exception of Michael Beck as the snaky charmer of a villain), the story works and the action will keep family members of all ages riveted. The PG rating is for brief swearing as well as some gunplay at the end. With that in mind, this 92-minute movie could be considered suitable for children 4 and older. Read more

This is a technical masterpiece and well worth seeing again and again. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars An obscure gem...
This is an early documentary by director Terry Zwigoff ("Crumb", "Ghost World") that focuses on an old time music/blues player named William Howard Armstrong.Armstrong was 75 at the time this film was shot, but he was still capable of some blistering playing. We get to see him play the fiddle, the guitar, the banjo, the ukelele, and some hybrid instruments. He appears with the players he has been with for years and years.Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars only got it for Adam Ant...
The movie is your typical cheesy horror movie. I was pretty disapointed because Adam Ant's part is very small (you don't see him until the very end- but his charactor is mentioned thru the movie)but he is definately the best part. As usual he steals the spotlight away from everyone else in the scene with him. It also has Richard Blade who was a famous DJ in LA for KROQ. He's pretty funny in the movie. Would I watch it at all if Adam Ant wasn't in it? Nope. But if you collect movies with him in it- I'd recommend it. He looks very handsome in it and he's very charming. He is a GREAT bad guy. ...
