5-0 out of 5 stars A jaw-dropping ending propels this one to the top!
"The Jem'Hadar" stands as one of DS9's most intense episodes, introducing the viewers to the one-dimensional "policemen" of the Founders in the form of the title characters and the conniving and sinister Vorta. Both would be a staple for the duration of the show's run.5-0 out of 5 stars The Jem'Hadar make their presence known to the Federation
All throughout the second season of Deep Space Nine there were stories and rumors about the Dominion, the great power of the Gamma Quadrant. In the season finale Quark joins Sisko, Jake and Nog on a planetary survey mission, where for the first time they run into the Jem'Hadar, the savage soldier enforcers of the mysterious Dominion. The Jem'Hadar then deliver an ultimatum to DS9 that the Federation is no longer welcome in the Gamma Quadrant.Starfleet sends the Odyssey, a Galaxy class starship, to investigate, only to see the ship destroyed by the Jem'Hadar.5-0 out of 5 stars Q View - The Trip Sisko Never Planned
Quark and Nog take off to the Gamma Quadrant with Captain Sisko and Jake. At this point you know its going to be one big old treat to see just what happens on this so called science project for Jake and Nog. Ha! You know your about to get some scientific laughs outta this one ... Then Sisko says the coolest thing" lets get going before anyone else shows up" Ha! And zoom thru the wormhole they go! As soon as they land on the planet Sisko is singing the blues having to deal with a good idea gone bad and poor Quark is covering his lobes in some green goo...something about he is allergic to nature! ha! Then a little time passes, darkness falls and O NO! A campfire scene, it might not be row, row, row your boat material, ha! In reference to Star Trek: 5 with Bones and Captain Kirk trying to teach Spock an old earth song, but its funny enough seeing old Quark complaining about bugs and bad food and getting himself caught on fire! Suddenly bad gets worse...THE JEM'HADAR! Captain Sisko and Quark are taken as prisoners, Jake and Nog take over a shuttle and its funny to see those two taking command.. You would swear Jake had been into a case of Romulan Ale with his horrific flying. The tension builds rapidly because of certain events that take place at DS9 and the present situation of Captain Sisko and company. DS9 to the rescue, but at what cost? Jailbreaks, starship fights the action builds! What will happen? Set a course for this episode a must see for any Star Trek fan ! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Odo: SUPERDAD?
As others have stated, this is a must-have for fans of the shape-shifter.Regaining his abilities is a small aspect of this beautifully scripted tale focusing on Odo as a member of THE GREAT LINK and his attempts to "teach" the young changeling. Character actor James Sloyan returns as "Dr. Mora" and also adds an element to the well-crafted installment.4-0 out of 5 stars Raising baby
This episode deals with the issue of parenthood...and what that really means. There are two storylines going on here - one involving the birth of the baby Kira has been carrying for the O'Briens, and the other involving Odo and his old nemisis, Dr. Mora.4-0 out of 5 stars Kira gives birth!
This episode serves to round-off two of Deep Space Nine's best storylines,Odo regains his shapeshifting abilities and Kira FINALLY gives birth.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars One of Voyager's best!
This episode is full of action and it has an interesting plot twist! I love it! And to keep things interesting, Seska's hair is curled this time around! Haha! (Not that that is important!). More importantly, we get to see that darned ol' Seska again. I was a little surprised that she agreed to talk about an alliance with Voyager, but oh well, the episode was still great!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good background for the Kazon
Well, since the Kazon are perhaps "the" villans of Voyager Seasons 1 and 2, it's good that we discover the roots of their aggression. In this episode, we explore the hostile and distrustful relationship between the Kazon and the Trabe, and the result is an excellent episode filled with good dialogue and action.5-0 out of 5 stars Trabe who?
In this episode we learn more about the Kazon revolt against their enslavers and how they were truly treated.By the end you almost feelsympathy toward them.Voyager tries to form a protective alliance with theTrabe but let's just say there's more than a few problems. This is a MUSTfor every Star Trek fan. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars the evils of war
Pallra (Katherine Moffat), a Bajoran widow, hires a greedy, unsuspecting Quark to break into an unused store front on DS9 and to remove a strongbox from a hidden panel. How does she know it's there? What's inside? Quark will be paid well to just give her the box, but he can't resist opening it once he finds it and it nearly gets him killed. Rom demonstrates that he's not really stupid - just that he has a low self-esteem because his brother treats him like a moron.
5-0 out of 5 stars Odo's latest case reopens his very first case aboard DS9
Constable Odo has been on Deep Space Nine longer than anybody else and in "Necessary Evil" we not only learn how he came to the station but also of an early encounter with Kira Nerys. When Quark is shot, Rom explains to Odo how the two Ferengi had just discovered a list of Bajoran names on the other side of a wall plate in one of the promenade shops. This information leads Odo to reopen the unsolved murder case that had caused Gul Dukat to bring the shapeshifter to DS9.The shop had belonged to a Bajoran named Vaatrik, whose widow had accused Kira of the murder. The episode goes back and forth in time as Odo pursues both investigations and finally arrives at the truth."Necessary Evil" is a much better detective story that all of the Dixon Hill fantasies Picard sloshed through on The Next Generation.Besides, this is one of the few times Odo gets to work a case without somebody interfering, which makes it a first rate DS9 episode for fans of the Constable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Trek noir
This episode had a spectacular film noir feel to it, with Odo serving as the PI figure and Kira and Pallra as mysterious femme fatales that could lead to Odo's untimely demise if he trusts the wrong one. It's a great story of murder, blackmail, and lies set against a dark, spaceborne version of a Nazi concentration camp. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Diplomacy...the art of not losing your temper with the other side
Plot:The Sheliak Corporate, a species whom the Federation barely get along with, has contacted the Enterprise, saying that there are humans on a planet in Sheliak territory.Picard is given a few days to remove the "human infestation" or the Sheliak will annihilate them. The Enterprise enters the area, filled with hyperonic radiation, which is normally fatal to humans, randomizes phaser beams, and renders transporters useless. So, they send Data down in a shuttle to find out what the fuss is about.Well, instead of a crashed scout ship with few people to rescue (as Riker theorized), it happens to be a colony of 15,000.Well, there's no way the Enterprise can get all the colonists aboard before time runs out, and there isn't a colony ship availible for 3 weeks.Picard tries to ask for additional time from the Sheliak, who figure that it would be better to wipe the colony off the planet than give Picard time.On top of that, the colonist leader is ornery and refuses to allow evacuation, saying that he would rather fight than leave.Picard is having a really bad day.Meanwhile, Data is unsuccessfully trying to convince the colonists to prepare for evacuation. The only colonist is this lady who is a little in love with him (which makes a whole ton of nonsense).Data asks Riker at one point, "Sir, just how violent will the Sheliak be if we can't move them?"Riker responds, "The treaty is the only thing that kept the Sheliak from wiping the colony out in the first place."Data says, "Ah.""Ah," confirms Riker....
5-0 out of 5 stars An interesting diplomatic problem, solved by Picard
What I like about this episode is that the Federation is forced to deal with the Sheliak, a species that has made peace with the Federation, but which considers humans to be an extremely inferior species. The Sheliak language is so complex that no human has ever been able to decipher it. To keep the peace, a very lengthy treaty was signed between the Federation and the Sheliak. One clause of the treaty is that if a human colony remains in place on Sheliak territory beyond a specific time frame, the Sheliak can exterminate the human population.
4-0 out of 5 stars Picard confronts a mondo diplomatic headache
This episode is one of the better examples of diplomatic problem solving in the 24th century. The Sheliak Corporate are a nonhumanoid race that has not contacted the Federation for over a century, but suddenly they are informing Picard that there are humans on one of the planets deeded to them in their treaty with the Federation.Under the stipulation of this treaty, the Federation has to remove the colonists before the Sheliak arrive in three days. However, when the Enterprise arrives at the planet in question the headaches increase exponentially. Not only is the planet is in an area of radiation deadly to humans, the Enterprise's sensors and transporters will not work.Data is sent to the surface in a shuttlecraft where he discovers there are over 15,000 colonists who refuse to evacuate the planet, insisting they will fight instead.Meanwhile, Picard learns the nearest Starfleet ship that can evacuate the colonists is three weeks away and the Sheliak refuse to be dissuaded from their intention to kill all the humans on the planet when they show up in three days.Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars fierce competition
Apart from some Spanish sense of pride and honor, this movie is about a fierce competition. A competition between the beauty of Brigitte Bardot and that of the magnificent landscape in Southern Spain.
2-0 out of 5 stars Great scenery; terrible direction
Although the scenery is memorable in this Bardot film (including the female scenery), the direction is awful. And there are a few embarrassing moments. The worst is a stage-bound windmill (a la Don Quijote) scene where the shadow of the sails falls regularly on the background painting of distant hills! In short, Roger Vadim is a hit and miss director. He misses with this one. I only give it 2 stars for BB, the obnoxious pig whose life she saves, and the donkey, who seems to know the cinematic mess he's got himself into.

3-0 out of 5 stars Bardot sizzles but Boyd fizzles
This movie had the potential of being an exceptional love story but Boyd's portrayal of the lead character, Lamberto, just doesn't cut it in my view. Lamberto is virtually devoid of any charm, emotion, passion or romantic qualities. How can two women fall in love with this guy is beyond my comprehension.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Incredibly Misunderstood and Understated 90's Film
I've always loved over-the-top films, in terms of acting, plot twists & turns, etc.The only problem?I don't know that the movie I just watched and adored was campy until someone else tells me as such.So was the case with "Showgirls", a movie I had heard so much bashing about that I was to the point where I couldn't believe it would be as bad as so many had previously labeled it.The surprise: I was right.
5-0 out of 5 stars This is great movie
I have seen the movie several times & I love it. It is in my top 15 movies.
4-0 out of 5 stars Ridiculous
The film itself includes a hysterical commentary by David Schmader called the greatest movie ever made, plus a pop-up trivia track that offers juicy insights such as Elizabeth Berkley's total time in the film spent naked. The rest of the box includes a collection of party games such as pin the pasties on the stripper and a pair of shot glasses and game instructions for various Showgirls-themed drinking games. It's almost as ridiculous as the movie itself.Highly recommended.Showgirls is fun

5-0 out of 5 stars Thoughtful and gripping
The "Next Generation" series was never shy about tackling deep subjects, and "Who Watches the Watchers" is no exception. The story begins with a Starfleet anthropological team studying a village on Mintaka, a proto-Vulcanoid world. Thanks to a damaged reactor, the team briefly becomes visible to one of the native inhabitants. To make matters worse, the Mintakan, badly injured and brought aboard ship for treatment, mistakenly believes Captain Picard to be "the Overseer" -- the Mintakan version of God. The rest of the episode deals with Picard's attempts to undo the damage and restore Mintakan society to something resembling its normal development.4-0 out of 5 stars Gene's Star Trek
"Who Watches The Watchers" is a refreshing change of pace for Star Trek: The Next Generation. It features some great location work. It offers a challenging mission for Picard; he must convince the Mintakans that he is not a God. He succeeds and is able to enlighten the Vulcan-like race. Picard is especially principled and courageous in this episode. To uphold the Prime Directive and to convince the Mintakans that he is not a God, the good Captain takes an arrow through the chest. Pure Star Trek.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Picard rejects godhood over the Mintakan people
"Who Watches the Watchers" is a translation of the latin phrase "Quis cusotdiet ipsos custodes," from Juvenal's "Satires" that was quoted as the epigram of the Tower Commission Report in 1987.This Next Generation episode strikes to the heart of the problematic Prime Directive that Starfleet personnel are sworn to uphold.Whether you think of this as a choice between the lesser of two evils or as how many wrongs make a right, this is a most provocative episode.

This intriguing episode from the seventh and last season of the series focuses on Worf (Michael Dorn), who has become trapped in a quantum fissure where numerous, alternate universes intersect. Bouncing uncontrollably from one reality to another, Worf variously finds himself married to Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis), promoted to First Officer under the command of Captain Riker (Jonathan Frakes), and working with Cardassian crewmates while fending off warlike Bajorans. 5-0 out of 5 stars The life, the universe, and everything in them.
TNG rocks, as far as I'm concerned. There is no truth to the rumor that I have been spotted with wealthy Ferengi at the bar on Deep Space 9.But I was pumped for this episode when it was broadcast. I have since recommended that everyone try to see Parallels, because I really do think it explains alot about our planet and the universe in general. If you haven't seen it, in brief, Worf comes back from a gaming tournement only to find that reallity is changing for him about every3 seconds, just not for everyone else.So for example, Picard's there, then he's not, then Worf's married to Troi (he's the last to know this) then he's not (and gets in trouble), yadda, yadda, yadda.....
5-0 out of 5 stars interesting
the fact its changing from one alternate realty to another is an interesting plot in itself. It's an episode you can watch over andover.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great episode!
The ... Voyager equivalent to this episode is "Non Sequitor". This episode, unlike "Non Sequitor", is excellent. Through this episode we get to see how life could have been different for Worf, with many different possibilities. Looking back now, I don't know why the Worf-Troi romance ever went on -- I think Troi and Riker are meant for each other, but that doesn't wreck this excellent episode at all! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Anasazi is the one to watch
Although Humbug is amusing, and well done, it is overshadowed by Anasazi. Written by Chris Carter, this episode is the season finale. I won't give away the plot (which can be found on websites devoted to The X Files, but make sure you get the follow-up episodes The Blessing Way and Paper Clip. This series of episodes is almost as good as Duane Barry (which guest stars C. C. H. Pounder who was later on ER)/Ascension/One Breath. Anasazi is set up when Mulder receives a DAT tape from a hacker who has broken into a Pentagon security and downloaded an "encrypted" file which purports to prove that the Pentagon knows about intelligent aliens who have visited Earth. Now you know enough to watch the episodes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Two of the Best X-Files Episodes in Season 2
When I bought Humbug/Anasazi, I was expecting I would like Anasazi more than Humbug. it was the other way around. In Humbug, Mulder and Scully travel investigate several murders in a town inhabbited by circus sideshow preformers, (siamese twins, alligator man, ect). While Mulder suspects that the culprit is a legendary creature known as the FeeJee mermaid, the real killer is Lanny a siamese twin's borther Leonard. Who can detatch and reattatch himself to Lanny. SICK! Anasazi is a more dramatic episode that focusses on the existence of extraterrestrial life with one monster cliffhanger at the end. Bill Mulder invites his son over to confess his involvement in a secret project. Alex Krycek shows up and shoots Mulder's father however and wounds Mulder. Fearing that he will be convicted, Mulder and Scully travel to the Navajo reservation in New Mexico, only to discover a boxcar full of alien bodies. The Cigarette-Smoking Man appears when Mulder is inside the boxcar, and sets it on fire. The episode is continued in The Blessing Way.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great X-Files video
This video contains two of season two's most popular episodes, "Humbug" and "Anasazi". The first episode, "Humbug", is about a murder in a small Florida town where manycircus and sideshow performers live. The suspect in the case is hard tofind and seems to be a contortionist. The second episode,"Anasazi" deals with the mythology and finds Mulder searching forthe truth about alien existence. "Anasazi" is also the season twofinale and the story continues into season three with "The BlessingWay/Paper Clip". This X-Files video is a must for any fan of the show.Get it now! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly visit Babylon 5
Babylon 5 has another set of interesting visitors in this pair of episodes from the first season of the science fiction television series.Episode 15, "Grail" (Written by Christy Marx, Aired July 6, 1994) has Aldous Gajic (David Warner), arriving at the station. He has come to B5 as part of his search for the Holy Grail (yes, THE Holy Grail), and wants to meet with several of the ambassadors to see if they know anything about it.Commander Sinclair (Michael O'Hare) is skeptical of Gajic's quest, but Delenn (Mira Furlan) defends the visitor as a "true seeker," whose devotion of his life to a quest for enlightenment. It does not matter, she tells Sinclair whether the Grail exists; the search for truth is what is most important.3-0 out of 5 stars Not the best, but still fun to watch.
In GRAIL the Arthurian Lore in introduced to the B5 universe. Not a very successful episode, since the same thing is done in "A late delivery from Avalon" in a brilliant way. Anyway, this episode has some good hints, including info on what happened to the previous 4 stations and a mind absorbing evil creature that resides in a Vorlon environmental suit.5-0 out of 5 stars Action-packed first season episode
"Grail", written by Christy Marx, features a "true-seeker" coming to B5 in search of the Holy Grail. His search leads him to Jinxo, who thinks he's the source of all bad luck forB5, and a lethal alien mind-feeder that is plaguing the station.GuestStars David Warner. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars 1.11 "Survivors" & 1.12 "By Any Means Necessary"
The common denominator for this pair of first season episodes from "Babylon 5" is that the government back on Earth is run by fascist idiots.Episode 11, "Survivors" (Written by Mark Scott Zicree, Aired May 4, 1994) has Babylon 5 getting ready for a visit by President Santiago. The stated reason is to present a new fighter wing to the station, several years late, but the popular suspicion is that he is trying to drum up support for his new alien trade and immigration policies. The station will have a lot to do to get ready for the visit but almost immediately there is an explosion in a cargo bay that needs renovation. The next thing we know Major Lianna Kemmer (Elaine Thomas), head of the president's security staff, arrives and is doing a heavy handed storm trooper routine, ramming her authority down everyone's throat at every opportunity. It also turns out that she and Garibaldi (Jerry Doyle) have an ugly history having to do with the death of her father seventeen years earlier. She has never forgiven Garibaldi for his part in her father's death and when the security chief is implicated in the sabotage on Babylon 5 she is ready to haul him away in chains.4-0 out of 5 stars Not the best, but still fun to watch.
In 'Survivors' we see the Earth President visiting the station. As the episode unfolds, we witness an attempt on the president's life, while his security chief holds Garibaldi responsible for it. We also learn information on Garibaldi's past, who escapes to Down Below while Sinclair tries to get him off the hook.Read more

"Signs and Portents" was both the title of a pivotal first season episode of "Babylon 5" as well as the title of that first season of the science fiction television series. What makes it important is that this is where the Shadow War begins.3-0 out of 5 stars Not the best, though still important Season 1 B5 episodes
"Signs and Portents" is the title for Babylon 5's first season and it is an apt title for the first episode in this compilation. Here we see further signs of unrest and turmoil within the Centauri royal court as Londo Mollari obtains an important symbol of Centauri power that was lost for a century. He hears a dire prophecy from the Centauri noble Ladira about Babylon 5's future. And she forecasts the imminent arrival of Shadows, whom we see eventually in this episode. The mysterious Mr. Morden (Eric Wasser) arrives on Babylon 5, posing innocent questions to the ambassadors of the four major alien powers. Only Kosh and Delenn (Mira Furlan) recognize the dangerous enemy Mr. Morden represents. "TKO" is one of the weakest Season 1 episodes. A boxer - and old friend of Michael Garibaldi's (Jerry Doyle) - arrives on Babylon 5, interested in fighting aliens in the ritual combat known as "Mutai". Meanwhile Ivanova (Claudia Christian) is surprised by the unexpected visit of one of her late father's dearest friends, a rabbi portrayed by Theodore Bikel, on a personal mission to help Ivanova overcome her grief.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not the best, but still fun to watch.
The first episode of this tape is excellent. Ambassador Mollari recovers a long lost Centauri artifact of power, while a plot is set to overthrow the Emperor. This plot involves the Raiders, while a Centaurian psychic, Lady Ladira foretells the destruction of B5 and sees Shadows that move. And among the turmoil, a dark man appears, moving like a shadow, asking each ambassador the same thing: "What do you want?"Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Watch and learn
The only thing I'll say about "Lessons" is that this is one of those episodes that shows you why the next generation is admired for both its wonderful story lines but also its top notch acting. Definitely one for the ages. All ages. A timeless classic episode. 5-0 out of 5 stars Jean-Luc Picard opens himself up to the possibility of love
When Picard visits his Ready Room at 3 in the morning he is perturbed to discover that all the major computer systems have been allocated to Stellar Cartography.Picard goes down there to find out what is going on and discovers he has ruined an attempt to take precise gravometric readings run by Lieutenant Commander Nella Darrin, who explains how they are attempting to predict the configuration of an emerging star system to an obviously fascinated Captain.Later Picard listens why Darrin plays the piano for a Mozart trio. The next thing he knows, she is visiting his quarters while he is practicing on the flute he received in "The Inner Light" (Episode 125).Soon they are playing duets and then they move of to kissing.Everyone is happy for the Captain and his newfound romance, but then the Federation colony on Bersallis Three requests an emergency evacuation because of a massive firestorm.Darrin leads the teams that set up the thermal deflectors that will protect the colonist during the evacuation, but when it becomes clear the deflectors will have to be manually calibrated continuously during the storm, Picard orders the teams to hold their position until the evacuation is complete. When the last colonist is transported, Picard orders the teams to be beamed up, but two of them are lost, including the one with Darrin.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Comedy..
This is one of my favorite comedy of all time. Nick Nolte & Martin Short makes a wonderful duo. It's funny & very touching in a sense.

1-0 out of 5 stars Three Fugitives,83hours til dawn and alias.
Iam not at all happy that i could not watch this product the three fugitives and 83 hours til dawn and am unable to buy this product in Australia. I think it suck that dvds have region departments and can only be watched in some countries People should be able to buy a product and be able to watch it. The sooner a dvd comes out that is able to be watched in all countries the better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Two of the best Trek episodes ever! (Just ask my wife!)
The best way to prove the measure of an episode's greatness is its ability to change someone's opinion about an entire series and genre. That's what happened with my wife.At the time the original TNG episodes were running, we were dating and she couldn't understand why I had to catch my TNG on Saturday evenings.Science Fiction and TNG in particular were the last thing she thought she would ever appreciate...until...
